Fuckin Slade. From 60's psychedelic, to hard rock, to what could be punk, back to 60's again then to late 70s arena rock then to trying to sound like a metal band. Oh well at least none of thier albums sounded the same. Love Slade
Thanks for uploading - you've posted some awesome Slade stuff. Can anyone explain to me the brief audio dropout that occurs at 3:34 in this song? I could never tell if it was intentional or some dodgy bit of censorship or something? Great song and album - though agree the production is a bit muddy.
There is no audio drop out. The term drop out infers some sort of problem with the recording, there is none other than previously mentioned. The brief silence you refer to is intentional, not quite a false ending, but certainly an affectation of Messrs Holder and Lea.
that fucked up guitar sound has always annoyed the life out of me,and actually really spoiled the album for me. its basically the sound you get if the battery in a distortion pedal is dying. ahl never understand why they let him use that horrific weedy sound;-(!
I totally agree. The distortion sounds like mud, but if you cant get past that, its a pretty rockin album. Dogs of Vengeance & Lightning Never Strikes twice are awesome tunes, although if i had to pick one off the album, this would be it.

Cheers mate - it just seemed so random I assumed the gap was some last minute edit for some reason.
But if it was Jim and Nod's idea it's aok by me. Thanks again for the great vids.

Never had a problem with "that sound" but I guess I'll be hearing it now?
