  • Anybody think they can take this home again this year (or next year--they'll be able to submit the Prison Break episodes if they want to)?

  • I can't believe this is the ONLY one OLTL won for best Drama

  • @PRNeneChulo Yeah, OLTL had MANY great years in it's history. I thought OLTL should have atleast been nominated for Outstanding Drama Series in 1993 (Emmy show in 1994). OLTL had such a great year in 1993. I can't believe they didn't even get nominated for it.

Days of our Lives is in the same boat. I think that show has only won one best show emmy.

  • It took them SO LONG to win, but it was worth it. Being the so-called "red-headed stepchild" of ABC Daytime has been both a curse (less attention than AMC or GH) and a blessing (more of an ensemble show at times than either of the other two shows IMO). Such a shame they're going off the air, I've watched off and on since 2001 when I was 12, but I learned the history (have two books on the show and have watched YouTube clips of old), and I remember when this happened. I'll miss it so much. :'(

  • @earlymid90schild Also proud that OLTL is the last remaining soap to be taped in New York. What a badge of honor to have. :)

  • @earlymid90schild no need to worry OLTL is saved and AMC as well they will live on but not ontelevision but on the internet. ABC sold their licensing rights to a production company called Prospect Park and they will have first run episodes of both shows when both shows end on the air im so happy that they will live on :)

  • @musicman301 Yeah, I found that out sometime later on, and I'm definitely happy about it, I just hope enough people stick around (or come back!) to make it worthwhile! Also, OLTL has been firing on all cylinders these last few weeks/months. Their second Emmy in this category could be theirs for the asking next year if they keep it up.

  • @earlymid90schild You are right about that. OLTL is currently the #3 soap in the country right now if it keeps doing what its doing then i could beat B&B to take the #2 spot and i think they can do it and i hope OLTL wins the Emmy next year if they dont, then i will be very upset, all i can say is continue watching.

  • @earlymid90schild The ironic thing is, OLTL has had many better years than 2001, but they never won emmys for them. In fact, it was often hard for OLTL to even get nominated for best drama series. A good example is 1993. OLTL had a great year in 1993 but they didn't even get nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. OLTL had a better year than AMC that year IMO, yet AMC got nominated (and won) for that year (Award show held in 1994).

  • RIP OLTL

  • Is that Eddie Alderson and Mark Derwin's shoulders??

  • @RunRunAway123 Yes it is! :)

  • @RunRunAway123 Yes, he is...And at 2.34 you can see his and Kristen's mom :)

  • aww its little Kristen Alderson (Starr)! LOL!

  • It was about friggin' time they won!!!!!!!!! They need another one, dammit!!

  • You can see Agnes Nixon at 1:44, who created OLTL.

  • I was happy and glad that One Life To Live won their first emmy for Best Show back in 2002.

  • wow first win, nice moment
