Do u know if u would like to sell this set up I'm lookin to upgrade my 98 gt but what I really wanna ask what mods did u do on the motor like did u rebuild it or did u run it like it is and does it get good gas mileage I'm lookin to do something like that to my car and its also my everyday car
@NaguShiiaRen Kenne Bell sells a specific kit only for the '98 GT. The kit comes with everything you need and a lot of instructions. I did the installation all by myself and took my time while working a job. It took me a month to do the install but I'm sure you could do it in a couple days.
@SiriusGD so is the kit hard to get in cause im think about geting a 98 mustang gt and would love to supercharger it and do i got to do work to the engine or can the engine be stock
hello, this car sounds sweet. i just got the 1.7 with intercooler for mine, but the guy didnt give me the right belt, can you please tell me the belt size on yours? thanks.
@warlock3055 Sorry I never got back to you. Did you ever figure out that belt? I just shredded mine and had to get a new one. I can see what it was if you didn't already...
Yes, I have an intercooler. I have a 9psi pulley but only getting 6psi out of it @ 6300 ft. elevation. I'll be tuning it soon. I've had this for awhile (4 years now) but funds dried up two years ago.
kenne bell says they dont make that supercharger anymore when did you get yours? and what other bolt-on's did you put on your GT? Thanks for your time...
Nice job check out my kenne bell 1.7 on my Bullitt :). Do u have any advice u can give me to make the wine louder? I currently have a Anderson power pipe, 75 accufab throttle body and stock mass air. Thanks
man where did you find that supercharger? i have been looking for one to put on my 98 but when i type in supercharger it keeps showin me fuckin turbochargers. i want a supercharger not a turbo. does anyone kno??
NICE! i want the same thing for my 98. But its got a lot of miles the kid before me drove it back and forth to college for two years and put a lot of miles on it and i'm afraid it'd blow my engine. how many miles does your car have.
all kenne bells are internally lubricated. I have one on my 98 cobra of the same setup but obviously for the DOHC motor. These are awesome kits if your running a stock car, but is you want big horsepower look elsewhere for these cars(unless you have a 03/04 cobra or above) I am pretty much gonna be maxed out a 600hp with a 2.1L
The SC came with a new fuel rail, larger injectors and a Boost a Pump. That's it. I have yet to have it tuned beyond the KB tuned chip that came with the kit customized to my setup. It's been a rough year but if things get better I'll be getting a Dyno Tune before next season. I didn't race in '08. The economy dragged me down bad.
No PI swap. It runs like a raped ape though. My biggest problem is keeping the wheels from spinning. I'm going to add some adjustable LCAs and see if that helps. My H&R Supersport springs don't deliver a lot of weight transfer.
BTW, notice the CAI is going into the fender well? It's a big K&N that is sitting low in my fender.
Also, I don't know what the HP is yet. It's hard to say without a dyno. But I can tell you it is a huge improvement. Dyno will come sometime this year after I up the pulley a bit. 6,400 ft above sea level the air is a bit thin...

I have a 97 GT and i want to put a Kenne bell on it too. What other mods do you have/how much horsepower is it putting out?
vereshchak 9 months ago
why get 1.7 for that when u mite as well get a bigger one. that 1.7 wnt give u that much hp.
96stang2Fst4U 1 year ago
@96stang2Fst4U
When I bought it, it WAS the biggest. Soon after they came out with the 2.2L. This 1.7L can give me up to 550hp. That's more than I plan.

@96stang2Fst4U i little 1.7k can go that fast 0-o i want to put a that 1.7l in my car

@96stang2Fst4U Npi blocks weren't made for that much power... Not a matter of IF it blows, a matter of when!

I have a '98 GT as well, and I am dying to get a set-up like yours. Is your Kenne Bell internally lubricated or did you have to tap the oil pan?
