Initially, he had a dramatic shift in tone, which was unexpected and downright funny, at a time when I - and I assume most everyone - had already been thoroughly engaged by his charismatic stage presence. His performance was continually surprising. Although the topic is fairly heavy, his approach to the subject was obviously lighthearted and laughable. Don't hate.
