Of all the Beatles, I'd most want to be friends with George. They called him stern George but I believe he ended up being the happiest of all the Beatles. Ringo struggled with alcoholism, Paul with his ego, John with his past. George found the answers to happiness in the philosophies of Hinduism and Buddhism and strove to reach those ideals, to reach that ability to "be here now", every day of his life, through meditation, study, music and nature. Plus he created some kickass music.
"Ringo" fans.... In honor of Ringo's 70th, I hope U will check out my "RINGO"video. It's very retro with Beatleish touches & was done as a labor of love and with the utmost respect for the Fabs. My attempt at putting a little bit of the Beatle spirit out there for Beatle fans. It's also my tribute to George Harrison's slide playing as well as Ringo's unique style.
Every one crows on and on about Lennon and McCartney, but George had a beautiful spiritual side that often came out. Given the coice between some Macca stuff after the break up I would rather listen to some of Georges stuff.
a beautiful tribute. it's easy to forget what a huge influence george had on europe and the u.s. he was one of the first people to show a deep interest in "eastern" spirituality and music opening the door for many generations to come. i offer my own words of gratitude.
Remembering George today as if he were an old friend I sit listening and watching this video. My favourite. This time with no tears hearing and understanding every word he's singing.

This person was magic, because his soul, his spirit, was magic.
Just 66 years ago, this soul became George Harrison and, for only 58 years, he had been one of the most beautiful creatures ever exist on earth.
However, i hope this soul continues to wander around us, before becoming someone else, while we thank him for the wonderful music he left us.
Only 58 years are enough to realize that THERE WILL BE NOBODY RESEMBLING YOU IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE

from treble string to bass: DBGDGD
