Despite numerous attempts to negotiate a cesation to hostilities Hitler pressed on, forcing Britain and France to declare war on Germany. Over 2 million German civilians were forced under Polish rule. Well, firstly, it was not Hitler who cut off Danzig, Westprussia, the Saarland etc. and enslaved millions, but it was the British in Versailles 1919. Prime Minister Lloyd George warned of this border causing, i quote "another war" already in 1919 (Fontainebleau-Memorandum) and Lord Noel-Buxton announced in 1931 that 1 Million Germans found the situation in Polish-occupied part of Germany so unbearable they left their home.
