never heard the song before my wife played it here. now it's a favorite. never saw the movie, but iwill now. haven't been listening to country too long, but now it's about all i listen to. it's not mom & dads' country any more. thanks for the post.
Loved the movie 8 Seconds the story of Lane Frost, wonderful soundtrack, Billy nails this song perfectly, thank you for posting this beautiful song......RIP Lane Frost.....Peace
Hi,never knew who sung this song, have had it for years in mistake for the other,Once In A While.lovely mistake, especially now as I have just ''discovered ''Billy Dean through Voices Singing, and bought the cd Real Man that has that track.
I rode bulls back home in Texas for 8 years with my best friend who I found out yesterday passed on early Monday morning. I'll never forget you bro! R.I.P. Brian "Turk" Loy
I dont know if anyone looks at this site anymore, I just wanted to say that (Both cops) I lost them both, my brother and cousin and this song was played at their funeral. I was an Honor Guard Sergeant and Escort for them both . I had the honor to go to Washington DC and the Peace Officer Memorial and be with their families, I'm not sure why I'm writing this other than the fact that this song gives me good memeories.
I just recently lost my father on Feb. 20 2010 and this song reminds me so much of him. He was in the navy and was in the vitnam war. He told me stories of what happened over there and things he saw and had to do. Never did I ever see him cry. I miss him everyday and he WAS my hero!!! I love and miss you daddy!!! R.I.P- Ronald Gregory Gunnels!!!!!
@mickslove808 prolly because it was in the soundtrack of a movie about Lane Frost. The clips in the vid are from that movie. its called 8seconds and Luke Perry played Lane.
My fiance Mary sent this song to me because it reminds her of her father who past several years ago. I thank god everyday that she has come into my life and shared her most charished things that she has for her father. I love you babe and Im marrying the girl that i want around more than once in a while! Even though i never got to meet you dad I see a man that did one hell of a job raising his daughter. GREAT SONG BABE AND I LOVE YOU!
I love this song...ever since i first saw 8 seconds, and i just had a close friend commit suicide so this song makes me realize how i wish i would have told him how much i cared for him
This song reminds me of my friend Jody Ledbetter. He was also a bull rider like lane.... but unfortunalty Jody left us way too soon. I will always remember you.. RIP Jody!
Once in a while those that are good, make me forgot all those who are not.. Once in a while I meet another good soul, and once in a while I forget to tell them, that I will never take this once in a while , for granted!
this is for my older brother. he used to ride bulls like his hero lane frost but now he is a bull fighter in a rodeo. i think he is nuts for doing that but he puts his life on the line to help the bull riders. and thats why is is my hero. even tho i don't ride every body in the rodeo has mt rescept.
I had the honor of meeting Lane, thru a friend. And had also the honor of attending his funeral. He was a tru friend and he is missed everyday. RIP Buddy
This song reminds me of my fried Mike, who lost his fight with his own demons yesterday. He was a wonderful guy and a great friend to me. l'll miss him so much. His friendship mattered to me so very much. I hope he knows how I felt.
This song reminds me of my younger brother, this is his account he is not dead or anything. He is a pro motocross rider that always helps out all the little kids at the track, kinda like lane did. He has the biggest heart of anyone I ever seen, always helps out others no matter what. That is why this reminds me of him. Also he does ride horses breaks them but all the time focused on putting others before himself. He would rather take the blow or pain then anyone else having too.
I dedicate this sing to my Father! He was a great man and a great leader! I love him very much! And this was one of his favorite movies. RIP dad I love you!
I dedicate this song to my friend,Mark Frazier, who was a hero and was shot in the head during a bank robbery saving the other teller's life in Houston,TX.God Bless,Mark!
I went to see 8 seconds when it came out . There wasn't a dry eye in theater at the end. Billy Dean is an awesome singer/songwriter too bad he wasn't more popular .
I absolutly love this song, I played this song at my sons memorial service. He passed away at the age of 15. he had Muscular Dystrophy but he always had such a positive attitude and was the strongest peron I ever knew.
This song always reminds me of my Grandad who died on his birthday 1986, he was a true Liverpool cowboy, used to win the quickest draw contests in Pontin's all of the time
i have always loved this song...lane frost was one of the worlds best athletes that died doing what he loved to do...i ride bulls too and everyone in the sport thanks billy dean for this song and using it in the movie "8 Seconds"...and thank u for posting it...great job
