  • Hahaha, the professor parody was great! Sadly, I've had professors just like that... it was a total joy to ask them questions. :\

  • What was the name of that movie you just used footage on? looks fun to watch.

  • NEO GEO PLX!!!!! lol

  • @Shrapnoid, Did'nt want post, another comment, Lol but your absolutely correct.

  • Shrapnoid, The console wars of late 80's but mainly early 90's are fresh in my mind like if it was yesterday, from Nes to Turbo or Snes and Genesis (which I owned) all the way to the less affordable powerhouses like 3DO and Neo Geo. I collect for all these including SMS.

  • @Shrapnoid, I speak for the new age youngsters coming up. Yes research, research, research...I don't how many times I've corrected Wiki which is not the most reliable source, so yeah sometimes you have to research in several places to get the details and big picture in whatever your researching in Magazines even till this day are a joke, even the retro Mags with exception to a very few like Video Game Collector.

  • @Shrapnoid72, I've been doing exactly that, properly researching or "truthfully researching" systems, specs and it's top games for over a decade when i first started collecting, there was nothing said in this vid or in the comments that have'nt already gone through before so that being said I jump on youtube mainly to purely entertain myself between research and collecting 24/7 365 days a year since the beginning of 2004 with the collecting but gaming hard since 1979. Thanks though.

  • When I grow up, I want to go to Bovine University!

  • Why did the 8-bit CPU hold it back? What difference would a 16-bit CPU make to the system?

    Nice video as always!

  • @JonteP0nte, it didn't. If anything it gave it quite a burst of speed. The TG16's HuC6280 CPU was clocked at 7.16MHz (4 times the speed of the NES' 6502). Even The S-NES's 65C816 CPU was clocked at only 3.57MHz and it too was an enhanced 8-bit processor with the ability process *some* 16-bit information so, if the TG16's CPU made it *not* a true 16-bit system than the same is true of the S-NES which would leave only the Genesis as the true 16-bit contender of the three.

  • As a lesson to anyone who reviews games or has opinions on video games, you have credibility if you didn't own this system growing up or like it today

  • @DctrEvil17, don't you mean that they have NO credibility if they didn't own this system or like it today?

  • The fact that you actually had that bowtie is hilarious

  • I dunno, avgn is good i guess but then again all the games he reviews are blantantly retarded ones to choke and laugh at. Not that it's bad, it's just, that's like comparing gems and shit coals there. Wolf reviews all the good ones.

  • @2hoodz, Avgn is great if you wanna see a cursing storm of laughs but real learning happens with videos like these and quite honestly this person is a top notch if not one of the best reviewers I've seen because he researches his material first and does'nt pass off mere assumed opinions as facts as with many popular so called knowledgable reviewers, it's hard to review a game and it's impact properly if your barometer lies in today's game, Avgn was 7 years old when Nes was king so he's limited.

  • Well, I think those guys are really funny. It's just more of a "smart" humor, not just curses all over the place. As much as I love AVGN, I really don't like his humor and I think that sometimes games in his reviews are funnier than him. Some of his reviews are just priceless, but some of them are just "Look at the stupid game, strange glitch here, stupid enemy, RAGE"

  • That is why i love Jame's movie reviews

  • @gamecollect101, clearly he did do some research but, he was still wrong about a few things and his bias toward the TG16/PCE sounds just as harsh as EGM's idiot reviewing staff of the 1990's.

  • The Turbografx/ Pc Engine/ Duo's are one of the top systems to collect for (More so than Genesis) and the market value for it's games has skyrocketed for good reason as it sports one the best and most concentrated libraries of back to back gems and is also recognized as the king of Shooters (Shmups), not to mention the multiple formats it supports from Hucard (Turbochip) all the way to Super Cd Rom 2 and Arcade (Neo Geo) cards. The system is a must for any real collector.

  • @gamecollect101, it's no use. Only the hardcore gaming truth seekers will do the research to find out what the 16-bit console wars were really like while the fans who just eat-up funny videos and popular opinions go on believing whatever they hear.

  • 8:12 you said the msx was made by microsoft? Then why does it have the Sony logo all over it, and why would it have only been released in Japan?

  • @mistertitanic The OS was by Microsoft, not to mention that there were a ton of models. Most have something to do with Microsoft, so he is right.

  • What movie was that clip from? I thought the obvious reference was going to be Enemy of the State (where they hid secrets in a gamegear cart) but I didn't recognise this. Was the movie any good?

  • Hope we get too see more of Mr I. M. Moran, he was awesome!

  • Where's this ducktales remix (at 3:39) from? For a moment, I hoped there may have been a 16 bit port of it I wasn't aware of!

  • I want that Super Mario Land remix song ! I love it

  • That's not a bad Jeff Goldblum impression.

  • Sega Genesis with Mega Drive label at 7:08

  • Can someone tell please, what games are at 08:07?

  • loving the remix of the mystic caves theme :D

  • ''hopefully not a homosexual related question'' XD

  • wouldn't it be genisi not genisises?

  • @pokestory1 I usually use Genesis as Plural for more than one Genesis.

  • haberdashery!

  • Rondo of Blood isn't exclusive to Japan anymore, yknow.

  • what was the name of the movie in 7:39

  • Do I hear a remake of Ducktales Moon stage in the background???

  • @traviswall1982 indeed you did hear the ducktales moon stage theme ^_^

  • @traviswall1982 It's a remix of the Mystic Cave Zone theme from Sonic 2.

  • Geee I wonder why the Turbo Grafx 16 or duo didn't sell with commercials like this @ 6:45 . I mean look at those graphics...

  • earthbound........shirt detected :D

  • 9:07

whats so special about that pic?

  • @HerrMorbitzer he is fake

  • 1:26 your ps2 games look so lonely and unplayed. makes me sad

  • The Turbo Grafx 16 is 8-bits, not 16.....speaks volumes of how good the TG-16 really was. It's Hu-Card library is well concentrated with highly sought after gems and it's games were closer to arcade ports than both the Snes and Genesis systems. It's PC Engine counterpart offers multple libraries and many epic titles. It's lack of success in the U.S was mainly due to Nintendo's Iron grasp on Publishers.

  • alright well thank you for the comment we'll take that under advisement lol you should have also said don't call us we'll call you lmao

  • I must say, Yoshi's Island molested the SNES in terms of graphics.

  • I guess the main issue with the console in the US was mostly just poor timing. Oh well. I guess you can't win them all.

  • but besides that other comment I find the game cool also if you like I can help you find away to get pass the last level

  • Moon theme from Ducktales. Win. Win. Win.

  • lol 0:23 - 0:31 my uncle had one when I was a kid although today you can get them on the wii Virtual Console which is cool

  • Im pretty sure Rondo of Blood on TG-16 is getting a worldwide release on the VC, which is awesome!

  • its amazing how you never disapoint.

    by the way,i pluged you

  • pause at 0:49

  • @zolken35 I may sound dumb for not noticing what is there to see, but, what is there to see at 0:49?
