  • How is D minor derived from C major? How is DEFGABbC#D derived from CDEFGABC

  • This is how expert village videos go:

    1) Introduce the topic slightly wrong (ex: Dm7 =/= Dm)

    2) Compare it to another scale

    3) Play both scales together fast so any beginners get lost

    4) Post on youtube.

  • ahh so your the guy who plays the piano whilst im shopping for food!

  • expertvillage *sigh*

  • Your piano sound sounds like an 70's song

  • I fuking hate the sound of your piano >:(

  • @NewtonBlog It's an electronic keyboard - not a true piano. That's why you don't like it, LOL.

  • Hey I love that riff you play starting at 0:28 to about 0:50. I started playing piano a matter of days ago, so I can't see exactly whats going on; but what style of music would you call this? I wanna find some more. Cheers

  • what is the piano?

  • @JeremiahDaradal Fender Rhodes Stage Piano Mark II

  • hey can anyone tell whens the right time to flat a key??ive been wondering

  • whenever it sounds good. usually it happens within a key but music has all these rules i've heard, for us to break them. We learn all these strict guidelines and we can break them if something sounds cool to our ear.

  • very helpful in my opinion, if someone does not know what this is about, then better get back to basics and do not skip anything.... Cheers man!!!

  • ehh....

    Whats your point? =/

  • What are you trying to explain? I think I don't get it...

  • Great stuff!

Whats the difference between a scale and a chord?

Which is an attribute of which?

  • a chord is just a few notes from a scale.

  • a chord is hitting certain notes at the same time. a scale is the notes that you hit while playing a song or something, if you're playing in D then the only notes you're playing are the ones that are in the D scale.

  • UR AMAZING !!!!

    KEEP UP THE VIDEOS:))

  • your "D minor" is actually a Dm7

  • He does say 'make sure you put this finger on the 7th' and he also says work in 3rds so I think he makes that fairly clear. Still though, well observed. xXx

  • i think you meant to make it basic :P your a bad teacher like me lol.

  • Very helpful. Lovin the improv

  • all i wanted to know was a D minor scale

  • sorry that wasnt very instructional. maybe if you explained things slower and showed what youre doing better, I cant really tell which keys youre hitting
