To me, the confederate BATTLE flag basically represents war and armed rebellion against the United States. I don't buy the history/heritage argument because if that were true then people would be flying the Stars-and-Bars or their state flag. To me, the Stars-and-Bars represents the political/ideological aspects of the confederacy (e.g. non-violent secession). Honoring the confederates who died in battle is the only circumstance in which I could understand flying the battle flag.

Slaves were the major agricultural cornerstone of the time. with large amounts of land, many people were needed to harvest all the crops in time. and slavery wasn't just in the South, in the Dred Scott vs. Sanford case, Congress ruled that slaves could be owned anywhere, even if the stat considered itself "free".

Slaves were the major agricultural cornerstone of the time. with large amounts of land, many people were needed to harvest all the crops in time. and slavery wasn't just in the South, in the Dred Scott vs. Sanford case, Congress ruled that slaves could be owned anywhere, even if the stat considered itself "free".

Anyone who flies the American flag doesn't support the trail of tears, or the interning of Japanese Americans, or My Lai. Just like people who fly the CSA flag don't support slavery. But it would go a long way if people who fly the CSA flag flew the actual regimental battle flag(square design), carried into battle by people whose heritage they say they represent instead of the banner flag(rectangle design) which was deliberately altered by hate groups in the early 1900's
