So if you want a UNSC so badly...try waiting 159 years, MAYBE we'll have it by then.

@romanticwerewolf besides the obvious reasons why we don't have a UNSC type force, have you considered that we probably do BUT it's under wraps because admitting that we have a special force in the military to fight an alien threat would make the public angry, scared, and would sound ridiculous.

War binds us together, heart and soul. We are only touching the tip of the spear of what we may become, but we will get nowhere how we are now. The universe is ours for the taking, why wait? Answer that and do it without a pessimistic logicality. We are bound by the chains of our own lives, who else can break them but the makers?

@frychicken25 i dont know about the unsc BUT the marine corps IS working on a way to drop speical units from outer space, for use in high risk ops like if we go to war with china or something and they want to take down high value targerts like a leader of a enemy country, i belive they plan to us basicly 2 seater jets to get into low orbit then drop because in orbit they going like mock 5 with little fuel use once they get there.

@romanticwerewolf I'll humor this a bit. You do realize Halo also has actual human history? Our present is its past, so they didn't have a UNSC at one point.. for a long period in history in fact. If you actually read and knew about Halo's plot you would know the UNSC was created shortly after humans traveled and colonized mars, a couple of jovian moons, and at the end of the interplanetary war in 2170. So if you want a UNSC so badly...try waiting 159 years, MAYBE we'll have it by then.

@romanticwerewolf the United Nations Space Command was only instated when space colonization was developed. it was a way to keep all the colonized planets (more or less) under one central rule. right now we're pretty much only on earth, so there is no real need at the moment for a UNSC. plus a new military branch would be expensive. binding together, so we can all be in debt would throw us right back in to war with each other.

The actual reason is...probably there won't be a Human UFO war any time soon, considering that, our state of technology poses no threat, and there is no real reason as to why they would come to invade Earth, rather than planets that can hold life, but have no sentient species.
