@raetekusu1 The Yankees had back to back wins from 1998-2000. Presently the Yankees made it to the playoffs and the Red Sox fell out of first place and out of the playoffs. They lost to the last place Orioles which is even more pathetic. If it wasn't for the introduction of the wild card 2004 would not have existed. It would have been an 89 year wait. The Yankees longest drought was 18 years 1978-1996. Oh and currently the Bruins are in last place.

The '09 Yanks were not the weakest WS team of the last ten years. The 2002-04 winners were all wild card teams. That means they werent even the best teams in their own divisions. They all got hot at the right time, and power to them. The best team doesnt ALWAYS win a short series; thats why they dont play 'on paper'. Examples? The pressure of being down 3-0 is incredible, while we have seen teams many times in the regular season even sweep other teams and come back from deficits. So it's not the same thing. Second just look back or think back to the 2009 ALCS and all the bad calls the Umpires made against the Angels. Furthermore, the Angels played very lousy baseball in that series. You have to take all that into account.
