I have a little 2 week old hand reared chick. We rescued her form an incubator at school, she was being pecked so badly that she couldn't stand up or defend herself. At the moment shes living in a guinea pig run in our kitchen and free ranging in our garden. Im sure she would like a little friend in the future and I was wondering if any experts thought that an ex battery hen would be a good idea? Any advice much appreciated!
Really? Do you raise free range? I do. I care for my chickens every day. There like my pets, and I think I treat them very well. There are 12 of them spread out between two coops, each a good ten square feet with over twenty feet of ranging area outdoors.
well YES down with all farming...... but there really is no problem with someone rescuing hens or just having a few in their garden(providing they are properly cared for)
raise ur own egg producing hen and by the way this particular breed is not consumed as a norm for meat production industry
