  • the one in my town sounds like its giving a message in morris code

  • It seems like all of the SRNBs have a slightly higher pitch than the SRN and 130

  • those things sound like trumpets from far away

  • That is the kind were i live

  • 2001's are soo much better then thunderbolts.

  • @poppinoncrackvideos - you got those 2 mixed up. . .

  • This siren looks and sound absolutely beautiful! Amazing quality on the video as well Dan!

  • Awesome video. That 2001 siren sounds great. It seems to stay at just about the same oitch throughout.

  • did these replaced thunderbolts

  • @97Siren Yep. They were 1000Ts.

  • Where is the chopper motor located on 2001's?

  • @dockwellian45 Its inside the square box in back on the horn.

  • @Siren1000T1 Actually, the motor itself is in the center cone with the big "FS" decal on it. The back box that the horn mounts to is just a support that also acts as an air intake for the chopper. There is actually a Thunderbolt chopper motor housing inside the intake box (this is what the big intake box mounts to), which has the collector rings inside to power the chopper motor.

  • i don't understand. these are completiley electronic, yet, they sound like a old air raid siren with a megaphone on it. why is that ?

  • @Droideka133 No this is a 12 port mechanical siren.

  • @Droideka133 That's what I had thought at first as well, but 2001's are mechanical. Some are belt-driven, while some are not (like this one).

  • @Xeadin101 Year old comment man , i know ALL about it now .

  • I remember when I lived in Novi, I was sick at home during the statewide severe weather awareness drill. I could hear FH's TBolt 1000T (now a 2001SRNB) On Halsted Rd. just south of 9 Mile. I could hear it clearly even with the 2001 about 1000ft. down my street.

  • @thecompanycar That one is right off of my street (meadowhill Dr W). I can hear it really loud from my house (I'm about halfway up the street from it)

  • great video, great quality, but just hate the 2001s...

  • Whats the difference between Severe Weather Awareness Month and Severe Weather Awareness Week and is your state the only state with such a proclamation

who came up with the term and why not Severe Weather Awareness Week

  • @garyhstorms10 Maybe it is week. I said month cause Oakland County didn't test on the first Sat of this month.

  • awsome video! it sounds healthy

  • Awesome 2001-SRNB Dan!

  • Awesome sounding 2001-SRNB, Dan. :)

  • Nice video, Dan. That SRNB sounds pretty good.
