@Siren1000T1 Actually, the motor itself is in the center cone with the big "FS" decal on it. The back box that the horn mounts to is just a support that also acts as an air intake for the chopper. There is actually a Thunderbolt chopper motor housing inside the intake box (this is what the big intake box mounts to), which has the collector rings inside to power the chopper motor.
I remember when I lived in Novi, I was sick at home during the statewide severe weather awareness drill. I could hear FH's TBolt 1000T (now a 2001SRNB) On Halsted Rd. just south of 9 Mile. I could hear it clearly even with the 2001 about 1000ft. down my street.
@thecompanycar That one is right off of my street (meadowhill Dr W). I can hear it really loud from my house (I'm about halfway up the street from it)
Whats the difference between Severe Weather Awareness Month and Severe Weather Awareness Week and is your state the only state with such a proclamation
who came up with the term and why not Severe Weather Awareness Week
the one in my town sounds like its giving a message in morris code

It seems like all of the SRNBs have a slightly higher pitch than the SRN and 130

i don't understand. these are completiley electronic, yet, they sound like a old air raid siren with a megaphone on it. why is that ?
Droideka133 1 year ago
@Droideka133 No this is a 12 port mechanical siren.
Siren1000T1 1 year ago
@Droideka133 That's what I had thought at first as well, but 2001's are mechanical. Some are belt-driven, while some are not (like this one).
