wang zhi zhi was a jerk. he thought he was everything in China but he got a rude awakening in the NBA. Then he betrayed his country and refused to play for China's national team. he is not one of the best players because he lacked effort and adaptation skills like yao ming.

Back in China, Wang schooled Yao then he schooled Yi. Plus in the summer league he was one of the best performers. The NBA doesn't revolve around 7'1" giants shooting long balls from the perimeter - Centers are there to dominate the paint on both ends of the floor. Wang couldn't do that and his shooting was very hit and miss so it was only a matter of time until he'd wash out of the league.
sounds like a good explanation however the NBA has more big men playing the perimeter like Dirk. It's moving to that trend. Wang Zhizhi just came at the wrong time.
sucks that he wasn't played more. he can shoot, had good mobility (not clumsy), and could drive. He sure was/is better than most 7 footers in the league.
