It is a poem written by st Nektarios and the music is modern perhaps composed by monks of the Holy Mountain. It is never chanted in church services but it is so popular that chanters add it in events related with Mother of God.

For those of you whine, this game is also based upon the Crusades of the Middle ages. Once upon a time the Christians were mighty and righteous, armoured in faith and clad in glory. Not to denigrate Warhammer 40k since I never played it, but I don't think it's appropriate to use a holy hymn to the Mother of God with a video about a secular game.
The name of this hymn is "Agni Parthene" or in English "O Pure Virgin." This particular recording was chanted by the monks of Simonopetra Monastery. You should be able to find many translations of it on YouTube. This video is kind of disrespectful considering this is a religious hymn and this game has absolutely nothing to do with it, but at least the creator has good taste in music.

Ο Χριστός δίδαξε την Ειρήνη και την Αγάπη,οι πραγματικοί Χριστιανοί αγαπούν την Ειρήνη και επιθυμούν την Αγάπη, που είναι ο Χριστός, άρα την βία, τα όπλα και τις μάχες τις επιλέγουν ΑΥΤΟΙ που χρησιμοποιήσαν και χρησιμοποιούν τον Χριστιανισμό για ΔΙΚΟ τους συμφέρον.
Β)Θάνατος:

@Comnenos Βλέπω Την Εκκλησία, όχι την Βυζαντινή Αυτοκρατορία. Δεν νομίζω όμως οτι κρίνω, αλλά αντιδρώ σε κάτι πού θεωρώ προσβλητικό. Δεν χαρακτήρισα ή έβρισα καποιον αλλά αντέδρασα στη δημιουργία αυτού του βίντεο. Αγαπάμε τον αμαρτωλό, όχι όμως και την αμαρτία, αν καταλαβαίνεις τι εννοώ.

Yeah, no kidding. The God-Emperor of Man HIMSELF was BORN in fucking Asia Minor, ANATOLIA. Not only did he live through the Roman/Byzantine Empire period, but he also borrowed the two-headed Byzantine eagle of the Byzantine Empire, which low and behold, is why the Imperium's symbol is a two-headed eagle.

This hymn is not the "akathistos hymn" or the "axion estin" - (try these names to listen to the correct hymns if they exist in you tube). It is a poem written by st Nektarios and the music is modern perhaps composed by monks of the Holy Mountain. It is never chanted in church services but it is so popular that chanters add it in events related with Mother of God.

The name of this hymn is "Agni Parthene" or in English "O Pure Virgin." This particular recording was chanted by the monks of Simonopetra Monastery. You should be able to find many translations of it on YouTube. This video is kind of disrespectful considering this is a religious hymn and this game has absolutely nothing to do with it, but at least the creator has good taste in music.

Have you even been to Germany, or studied it outside what's been fed to you in basic history classes? Germany today HATES Nazism! You so much as fly a German flag over your doorstep and people might suspect you're a Nazi. None of the German war veterans I've met were proud in the least of what they did in the war. You also forget that most Germans were lied to about what happened, and had no hand in it. Ich bin enteuched.:P

The Imperium of Man more closely resembles the old Holy Roman Empire in its strict theocracy, whereas Nazi Germany mostly encouraged Atheism, and some officials believed in Nordic mythology and occult. Also, xenophobia=/= Nazism, any more than the American KKK scum are Nazis. Some are, but not many.
Also; the officers you refer to are modeled and named after RUSSIAN Commissars, genius.

I can't understand the first sentence at all. I said Holy Roman Empire because 1. the heavy use of latin and roman symbols and words, 2. the overwrought theocracy, complete with holy warriors and a ruthless Inquisition.
I said the uniforms and names were modeled after Russia's. The Skull and Wings insignia of the Imperium could be said to be borrowed from Germany, but the Totenkopf "Death's Head" was a skull and x-bones. Communism's quite fascist; where'd I say it wasn't? (C)
