i have seen stargate sg1 and atlantis prolly 7-8 times now. its the best tv show that have ever aired. to bad SGU messed it all up. or the "fans" that made sure it dident last more than 2 seasons. i prefered the humor in sg1 and atlantis rather than the drama in sgu, but it was stil stargate imo. to bad it really started to be good towards the end of season 2

The last 2 seasons I actually enjoyed a lot tbh, but I do understand why some people disliked them. They in a sense destroyed what SG1 was about (Goauld, an enemy we could relate to in a sense as they weren't gods like ascended beings), and removed the shroud of mystery with respect to the ancients (But Atlantis did too :p).

Not sure if anyone here is an expert on the series, but I got a question: In the episode from season 8 called "Covenant", Jack asks the Asgard: "How about a hyperdrive for the Prometheus?". But doesn't Prometheus already HAVE a hyperdrive? I even seen it in hyperspace before that episode.

Jack says, and I quote, "a NEW hyper-drive for the Prometheus". That means he wants an Asgard hyper-drive. They are definetly way better and faster. A nice gift for the president! ;)

In fact I think the storyline was great. Only thing was: Vala (to me) was annoying and Mitchell: he is no O'Neill. They should have entered a complete other character and not a cheap O'Neill copy. In Atlantis Flanigan played an O'Neill like role (likes to keep it simple and has sarcasm like O'neill. He would have fit better but of course was occupied.

I think they should have made Sam the leader and put someone else in like a marine to complete the team.

@lahmarko I'm doing a stargate marathon on my freetime. I'm watching Stargate SG-1 and I'm at the end of season 4 now..just watched episode 4x20 Entity..pretty good. I just got the full 5 season box of Stargate Atlantis also. When I get to season 8 of SG1 I start watching Atlantis 1.season. So in right order. It is just awesome to watch these old episodes. Haven't seen them for a while. Highly recommended.
