Your PC will run it better than mine. My CPU is a bottleneck in my system. Yours should be fine.

And you friend and the internet were correct. You can buy another HD 4870 and slot it right besides your other and run them both. Make sure you have 2 PCI-E slots, though.

only a overclocker would notice the difference, but the CPU is good enough not to bottleneck that GPU, so you should be fine, but overclocking does improve performance, both cpu and gpu.

well both, a quadcore/tri-core is great if the application supports it, if it's not supported by the application a dualcore will be just as good.

if a game/application only supports 2 cores, a dualcore will be just as fast as a coad/tri-core cpu, overclocking (MHz) makes a difference, no doubt.

ok i see. I was told that most games run on 1 core, but some (aka Crysis, Crytec Engine Games) run on two cores and so that's good. Plus, this way i can do other stuff in the background. I suggest triple cores, bout the same price, if not cheaper than most dual cores, + can perform background processes. Great for gaming if high clocks, you can get ones that are 2.70 ghz easily oc'd to 3.0ghz, then your set!

But this game runs at about 50-100fps at 1680x1050 and with a better CPU you're looking at a 30-40% increase in framerate.

A 3GHz quad core is a million times better than my CPU so you'd get twice the framerate I get in almost every game.

Yer I have same card too, but I am running my system with an opteron 180 and 3gb of kingston ddr 400. I have overclcoked the opty and I get just over 80% usage of the card. ddr 400 = ddr2 667mhz same write and read speed, but I cant overclcok that great because ram don't have the frequency. with system overclock of about 12% including ram i get 80 -150fps, 45fps with fraps. Opty's haul ass.
