  • thank you - very helpful

  • I'd like to know what to do if one is a nail biter....=(

  • @jadjwarner stop bitting your nails, i know because i am a nail bitter and i just stopped bitting my nails and yesterday i just finished shaping my long nails into perfect classic guitar nails :D

  • Hi,If you are playing free stroke (not resting on the string) you want to make circles off the tip of the thumb, You come back over the string but do not dampen it ,unless you are planting it to work on stabilizing the arpeggio.

if you watch any fast work (Leyenda etc, )you will see that if you keep the thumb straight down you can not do fast repetition. as teachers we frist want to get the motion which is why your teacher probably had you use a rest stoke and stay on the string.

  • Circles with the thumb ?. I was told the thumb plays straight down through the string .....thats the way I was taught .....maybe you can kindly correct me if I am wrong

  • As a finger comes back to the string, does it rest on the string, in effect dampering it? Or does the finger hover over the string, waiting to touch the string?
