  • Nicklausse without even a hint of the voice and Giulietta hysterically searching for the right pitch? I understand why Levine took this fast tempo, to finish this duet as soon as possible...

  • @Desideria7 I am not at all sure of what you mean with regards to Ms Lindsey. I don't believe the point of opera is to have the voice, but to have your own voice. This is not a professionally recorded performance and yet her voice to my ear is expressive and her technique accurate and very moving. In talking to one of the other singers in the performance, he was particularly effusive in his praise of Ms Lindsey.

Its always easy to make a vague non specific criticism.

  • I REALLY hope they release this excellent production on DVD soon. I hate it when they release something not really worthy (that terrible Lucia with Netrebko and Beczala, for example) instead of true masterpieces like Sher's staging of Il barbiere with Flórez and DiDonato...

  • @RAIV99 Agreed. I also wish that this would have been included in the Live in HD summer repeats as well.

  • sorry, can u tell me where can i get this?

    i want to download it!

  • @naditacalderon It was on PBS recently. If you are in the US and your PBS station broadcasts Met HD broadcasts occasionally, they are likely to broadcast it again. Search for "PBS Great Performances at the Met" and check your local listings. If not, metropolitan opera website has met player which will let you play it 's performances - for a price.
