if you use slates (thin building stones, i dont think everyone calls them slates . . .) and if you throw them, even like 15 cm diameter ones then you can skim them at least 20 - 30 times, but i think you got lots more than 30 . . .

That vid was sent to analysts at the Guiness book of records where they studied it over for a few days (so he said anyway),the guys name is Russel he was on the radio in Dublin a couple of days ago talking about it and he bet the previous record held which was 42 or somethin, this one he threw there was 51! not bad eh?

eh, so they dont count how many times the stone hits the water they count the ripples that it leaves behind? I'd say that would be far more difficult and less accurate, not disagreeing wit you but how do ye know that?

Thats because at the end it is hard to see the stone leave the water, so if it produces a circle and not just a trailing V then it's still hopping. So the rule is a concentic circle..
