If you have even as little as an inch clearance between your chin and chin guard it should work fine. Just stack the top Velcro squares to get the angle right.
Full retail is listed as 200 dollars. I got a discount because they didn't have the other one I ordered. I bet if you look around online it can be found cheaper.
I love your new helmet and cam setup Chuck, i was = that close to getting a cam like that but just couldn't do it. I love your Helmet BTW, looks real sharp!!!
There are so many good cameras out there now. That Webbie Matth has is a good one too. I just kind of throw this out to spark ideas and modifications. No one needs to use what I do unless it just suits them.
Good ifo. SR. I'll be getting a set up pretty soon. I still use a half helmet. I know, I know. I gotta git with the program! Soon my friend soon...Take care & ride safe...
Actually I am way over on the freedom of choice side. I rode without a helmet for 29 of the 32 years I have been riding.
Still I can't figure out a way with a half helmet to deal with the wind noise if you like to talk and ride. Maybe someone has solved it but I haven't seen it yet.
I'm going to have to seriously look into that helmet. I'm not too happy with having to modify my helmet (cut protective foam in the chin area) to get my camera in there.
Years ago with less selection of cameras I think you were more or less forced to cut foam. I think now with the right camera and helmet set up those days are over.
I am curious about your Vado HD, I recently added one to my arsenal. The test video's with it are really clear but i notice the right and to a greater extent the left side of the videos are blue tinged. I don't know if it is from vignetting due to the wide angle lens or if my cam is defective. Do you notice any color change to the far edge on yours?
btw - I have a Nolan N103 and there is no way to mount the camera in it. I am still trying to figure out where to mount the Vado.
Hum... I may have a bad sensor in mine then Dang... I hate returning stuff I bought on-line but I might have to. The blue ting is pretty noticeable around the edges.
Great helmet, cam and set-up, Chuck!! I love the look of the Vado HD as well. Your idea with the velcro was brilliant, by the way! I never really thought about how the shape of the helmet shell could impact the camera positioning. I'm still a noob! I'll do a vid in response to this one when I have my helmet set-up finalized.
Excellent vid, Chuck! Wish I could be there for the Chicago meetup.
This is not my first choice due to price however it was my favorite. I ordered a discontinued model and they didn't have any more. They offered a good discount on this one instead so it was a win, win for me.
Nice helmet. I have always wondered how a setup for helmets would look, and be created. Now I know. I kinda had the velcro thing in mind already. Great to hear you are doing alright. MY Unboxing of the Samsung nc20 will be up when it arrives this weekend. take care.
i know this is off subject and probably slightly lame but which ray bans are those. i love them, i think i want to find a pair for my self

Neat ideas for your new camera setup. You come up with some really good ideas! Velcro.... Man! Perfect!

It will happen if it is suppose to happen.
I just kind of roll with things and see what happens.
Part of the adventure in life is the unexpected. I use to get mad about it but now I go with it and enjoy.

Yeah, you definitely got a good color theme on the helmet for your Triumph.
I wonder if I would have enough room for a camera like that if I took the breath guard off my helmet. The camera would have to be pretty thin.
Fudmottin 2 years ago
First thing I did was pull the breath guard off of this helmet.
I haven't seen one yet that is thinner than the Vado.

The latest iPod nano has a camera. It only does 640x480 VGA though (30fps, h264 / AAC audio). Lots of memory for video. Not so much on the battery.
Fudmottin 2 years ago
Pretty much the same setup I use with my vado but I keep mine in its little plastic case as I didnt want to stick velcro to the camera itself.
Problem with that is the camera is more visisble with the case being a whitish colour but im just going to plack it out with something :)
Awesome setup to :)
Awesome vlogging minds and all :p

How much was the new helmet? I might get a full face helmet for winter riding.

Nice helmet. Looks like a good match for your bike.

I am mostly for the practical side but when I can also get it to look good it's a bonus I like.

Damn you YouTube fix the freakin' comments already. Jeez

Took me four times to get the comment to post.

Yeah you'd think by now YouTube would enhance or at least fix the comments.

No color fringing I have noticed so far.
I flexed it a bit in my helmet the other day and it started dropping frames. I don't push on it hard anymore and it hasn't done it since.

My MX helmet is a bell, quality product.

I feel the quality is top notch too. I originally thought if you didn't spend over 400 bucks you would have to settle. I don't think I did.

One degree of separation now.
Mike (Larc0) talked about all of us midwest vloggers accomplishing that this year. I think we are close now or have done it.

Nice thing about Riding a cruiser is that you have a more relaxed Riding Position and you don't have to tilt the Camera as much :-D

No cutting on this one.
I have a five year warranty even if it gets dropped so I don't want to modify the structure.
