@saygoodnightmanuel - don't be dramatic. If you'd be on Shepard's place, you'd have to stay calm. You always have to be calm. A leader can't be touched by anything, or he may shake and fall down. And everything and everyone standing and relying on him would fall with him, as well. ^^
Yeah, Mass Effect even gives you an idea how to live, wow!
@lodziklocPL i think you're wrong, leaders can be touched, and should be touched, its what makes us human, the ability to experience emotion, and armies usually exploit this aspect to motivate troops and uplift morale. don't kid yourself, heartless soldiers may be efficient, but they will not genuinely inspire others or obtain their true loyalty
@saygoodnightmanuel - I'm not saying to be heartless and ruthless, actually, I'm against it. I'm saying "don't be touched easily - inspire others and make them feel like you can handle anything, instead of getting broken by seeing someone dying". Why? Because if you're broken by seeing your comrade die, and other comrades are watching you, then they will be broken, too. Or at least worried and concerned.
That's why you have to stay calm - in order to not disturb your comrades and let them do
@saygoodnightmanuel - the job undisturbed, If they see that something seems to be okay to you, then they will think that everything is fine and everything is going to be fine. But if you are going to scream "OMG, Ken died, how sad", then such a leader won't be treated seriously by his crew and they will not have high morale.
Take an example from Mass Effect 2: Miranda says that the Suicide Mission will be a failure right before it begins. You may agree, or disagree. I would disagree with her.
