  • why does the HTC look like such shit?

  • Where did you get that theme from?

  • wtf............u need to download a software to see the applications that are open.......lol

  • @QboyRuLz What? No, you don't have to. iTroll?

  • @podivan22 no i do not have an iPhone..........i own a n8

  • Cool idea :) Nice vid to show the REAL performance of the devices and not some stupid benchmark.

  • galaxy s2 or sensation xe

  • Sensation's resolution is nice.

  • hahah...s2 is da best man..u dnt need to test it.....coz htc sucks....lol

  • in my opinion htc sensation is better but this shit screen. :/

  • i`ve watched all these vids.......talk about bias for the Samsung. He does it in all of them lol

  • @blkomg Bias, r u serious mate? I live in europe and the s2 is the best smartphone of 2011. It won that prize all over europe. The nominees were iphone 4s, sensation, arc s etc.The galaxy s2 sets the standard of what smartphones should be like and every phone that´s been out in 2011 have been compared to it. IT´S FACT, so just accept it.

  • my sensation sucks

  • so what is RAM??

can you just clear it without anything getting disturbed???

  • @TheBellTeresa let's say you have 1000 mb of ram, and you want to multitask, the application that's running in the background needs ram to multitask, so if an application needs 45 mb of ram, there's 955 mb left for other apps, ram is for temporary use of an app, when you close the apps that are running in the background there's 1000mb of free space for apps to multitask

  • What wallpaper is that?

  • your test doesn't reveal anything. You do not understand how android manages memory at all. You do not know what apps to open and what to do to standardly test for RAM

  • The sensation screen looks horrible to me compared to the sgs 2. Am I wrong or does it really look that bad?

  • ACCENT!

  • sammy ftw!!!!

  • it is nice turitorial, but when you press the screen with your fingers, you must stand bit of while, and then whit both fingers let of the screen, and then will be more precisely resultats of the test

sorry on my english, but I hope that you will understand me...:-)

I own SGS S2 and I also have HTC in my hands for a few hours, ans SGS S2 is much better smartphone in all segments...

  • the Samsung galaxy s2 is simply the best all round smartphone i have seen in a long time

but if your looking for a top notch user interface id go with ios 5 on the iPhone 4s as apple always seem to have the up most simplicity "thumbs up if you agree"

  • htc <3

  • htc slows

  • Guyss i suggest u all to take galaxy s2 its an awsm cell.. I own it.. I m in luv with it.. Galaxy s2 is announced the best gadget of the year 2011.. I suggst u to go fr it.. M proud to own s2.. :-D ^_^

  • samsung is much better

  • I love sensation :D

  • compare it to the htc evo 3d, its a lot faster

  • I'm interested to buy a Samsung Galaxy S II and i want to ask you because i cannot find this information: for installing applications can you use the entire storage of 16 gb for app usage or it has a limited storage space for apps like on my current HTC Desire where i can install only 120 mb of applications? thanks

By the way, i like your reviews :)

  • the screen on the sensation looks washed out

    haha

  • @jjrosaria2 it's just the video quality, i have one and it is a really good phone

  • 768 MB RAM, and only 197 MB Available RAM on HTC Sensation?!? That's crazy, I get 160 MB available RAM on Samsung Galaxy S which only has 512 MB RAM, must be Sense UI, but still...

  • which do you prefer?

i just got the sensation and its pretty sick

  • Angry Bird was not opened on the Sensation but on the Galaxy SII u opened it

  • @shifatulislam yeah makes soooooo much difference

  • really want to no which one i should get so confused :/

  • @XtheXmovieXmakerX I recommend Galaxy S II. no bad words about it. the screen is absolutely stunning and the battery life is fantastic.

  • Htcs screen quality isnt as good as the galaxy s2s

  • @MrHARRYM123 thats maybe cause htc doesnt develop and produce screens themselve

  • GS II has Angry Birds Open!!!!! But it catches up. -.- Fail.

Samsung Galaxy S II is far better than HTC Sensation.

  • SGS2 have open angrybirds, htc isn't

  • The galaxy s 2 is actually not that much faster than the sensation

  • Ehm, hehe. You shouldn't just open linpack and quadrant, you should run them ^^ And just to say: to make a really fair test, both should run a identical ROM :)

But I just like the SGS2, excellent performance and hardware components

  • I LOVE your accent :)

  • @hangma3 Ahh if only you were a beautiful women who would come and make Sam a Happy man :)... lol or are you ;)... lol

  • nice review

  • :3 I love your acent.

  • wow, ugly fingers

  • for sure for the sensation being a top superphone it should of have 1gig of lpddr ram especially with the damn sense 3 using up 450mb's of the ram to begin with & thats not including apps that a user would want to install.

  • yah we gut abut 5 hundrud *ahuwruahuh!* wtf was that sound? lol

  • How it's going Sam,I want you show me Plant vs Zombie :)

  • If black means black for the SGS2 and black means grey for the HTCS, I go for the SGS2

  • can u add a bigger memory stick on the phone cuz 8 gigs isnt alot i need more

  • @halofreak9000 Yes, 32Gb is the maximum at the minute I believe. Both phones have a micro sd slot.

I upgraded yesterday and got the HTC; returned it today in exchange for the Samsung which feels a lot nicer to use.

  • You r great reviewer

  • @evgrajesh Aww thanks!! :)

  • i believe that the sensation has to store up memory in the cache memory for the phone to run fast,eg at run time 3:49...jus like when you use the map on the phone, check sam video on HTC sensation map...you'll understand

  • i believe that the sensation has to store up memory in the cache memory for the phone to run fast,eg at run time 3:49...jus like when you use the map on the phone, check sam video on HTC sensation map...you'll understand

  • I 'll suggest, if I may, to all Sensation users, to root theyr phone, than install the Titanium beckup, than uninstall (or maybe even better, use the "freeze" option) SenseUI and then try the phones performance with ADW launcher or LauncherPro (and please report their findings :) . Something tells me that this SenseUI is killing the poor phone. The Sense was great thing that happend for WindowsMobile but here , in Android is just a drag.

  • @zmakuzma But to me that would be the main reason to get the Sensation is for Sense 3.0, without it... i don't see the point :)

  • @samjpullen the point would be that some people like the htc senstation's look over the samsung's simple plasticy look. which is there choice but the main thing that it might prove is that the hardware, the chipset in general might either be up to the galaxy 2 or maybe better. im sure you knew that already & just tried to be a smart guy & if you werent trying to be then you lack some insight.

  • G'day Sammj ! Just got a quick question, I've followed your review for both, the galaxy & sensation for a while now, since you got 2 of the most desirable handsets for more than a month ,which of the 2 would you Honestly recommend & why ? awaiting your reply, cheers Mark.

  • sam: I'm sorry to ask, and please forgive my lack of worldliness, but what accent is it you have there? What area (UK) do you live in? Some of those inflections are new to me

  • @vrikey I am from Yorkshire :)

  • @samjpullen Thanks. And I like the way your vids begin, with that chilly, Beethoven-like death-chord - keep that please. You get really weary of hearing all those music jingles on other phone-reviews, but yours hits the right note.

  • look how slow the galaxy s2 is when hitting the home button. that would drive me crazy if i spent 700 bucks to have it imported. i was going to get this or the g2x again, or the new nexus in december, but im a cheap bastard and going to get the motorola triumph from virgin mobile. 1ghz second gen snapdragon cpu 512mb or ram 2gb rom 4.1 wvga dsply 5mp camera with led flash front facing vga camera. stock android 2.2 , dont care about that as long as i can put aospcmod on it (2.3 cm7 port)

  • look at the lag when u scroll down in de market at the htc sens

  • Hi Sam..have u had any issues with the s2 gallery? Mine sometimes takes a few minutes to load, even.with only a few photos on the phone?

    Cheers

  • the galaxy s2 is a powerful phone till now!!...cheers to Samsung....its done a gr8 job with galaxy s and galaxy s2...

  • @StickmanStig the crappy htc user interface.

that's what people are referring to when they talk about this thing called "senseUI" is that user interface laid over the top of android. i dont understand why folk dont jsut use the stock android interface. it's miles better.

  • @hefonthefjords agreed i use my u8800 so good and easy to use. But i have the money, and i want good phone. Too bad there is none super phones who uses stock android. btw u8800 is a very good phone too that price!!!

  • Who really cares about if a programm opens up 1 sec earlier or later.. absolutely ridiculous!!!

  • I think my next phone lies on that table, I'm done with iOS and Blackberry OS

  • @StickmanStig probably the pre-loaded apps

  • Where did you buy your SGSII? and how much was it? I'm looking for one myself unlocked

  • @StickmanStig Android+HTC Sense.

  • How is the battery of those 2 phones? It's diffecult for me to choose between the sensaton and galaxy s2

  • soz i meant to say optimzation of OS

  • remember people, its not about about CPU, its about OS implementation, not hardware statts will improve an OS that is coded badly, or not efficiently enough, many complain symbian 3 phones have slow speeds, like n8 has 680mhz, but symbian OS doesnt need alot of cpu mhz, a 680mhz in symbian 3 is the same as a 1ghz in an android device. AND no OS multitasks properly and better than a symbian device does. too much GUI screws with ur phones

  • I remember people was comparing iPhone vs some phone, now they compare with galaxy S2. ;)

  • gregvybanez, clearly mad that you bought a shit ugly phone l0l.

  • You should disable the animations since they are different

  • The S2's display looks a million times better. That Sensation display is washed out and just awful in comparison.

  • Sam, do you even notice that sgs2 close apps slower when you press the home button? why dont you mention that!

  • @gregvybanez because thats the animation :), the HTC does not have one ;)

  • @samjpullen animation or not it makes the sgs2 slower!

  • @samjpullen actually they both have an animation.... its fade... and the sensation does perform the faster the app opening and closing...

  • @samjpullen

he even doesnt know the android basic features, what a shame

  • The sensation is clearly faster in opening and closing applications even with all those apps running. sgs2 may have more ram but it slows downs really fast!

  • Question Sam: was the S2 on maximum brightness? I saw another samsung phone with the new 4.3 super amoled display, and I compared it with the new LG with LCD, and the LCD was definitelly twice as bright.

  • @QuickRefs both were on max :)

  • @QuickRefs Well put it this way, i haven't got overly sensitive eyes or anything, but the samsung galaxy is SO bright on full brightness, i have mine set to just under halfway.. the screen looks amazing.

  • HTC - worse in everything, but still a good phone. I mena just compare the screen with the Samsung... If you are clever, buy the most your money can buy!

  • hmm in the samsung galaxy s2 is the middle button press or sensor?

  • you didn't open Angry Birds on the Sensation ...

  • Its great that you make short videos ...better than a full review

  • Wouldn't make more sense to just do a FULL COMPARISON, meaning one video, instead of these short vids?

  • @Jerz1983 Nope, because i like short videos as you can pick and choose what you want to view.

  • @samjpullen Or, u can do a full comparison like everybody else, and write the times in the description for different aspects of the phones. Thats much more simpler

  • @Jerz1983

Or he can maintain the same format that the vast majority of people who view his vid's find just fine the way they are. Doesn't get any simpler than that.

  • @Schatje79 Cheers :)

  • @Jerz1983 I am not everybody else, my style is different to everybody else :)

  • Galaxy S2 = fugly plagiarism + nice specs + terrible user experience + nonexistent customer service

  • Android FTW!!!!

  • If you press the back button instead of the home button it is way faster! Either way the gs2 flies and has not frozen up on me once.. hands down best phone I have ever had!!

  • Galaxy S2 is born to kill Apple not Sensation. Obviously Sensation is no match for GS2. Series of tests confirmed that GS2 is superior over others.

  • After seeing all your videos comparing these two phones. I still want the Htc Sensation!!! =)

  • @raidenraichu SAME!

  • Angry birds was open on the GS2 but wasn't on the Sensation.

  • It ( stutters ) because htc is just genrally laggy. Not sure why. I had the Desire HD and it was like that.

    Samsung galaxy S phones aren't.

  • @cheekymonkey69er I agree with this I have had 3 HTC phones and Sense always seems to feel a bit laggy

  • because the sensation has less ram and most of that is used to run sense it was a FAIL on htcs part not to up the ram.I hope the looming evo 3d sorts this out cause i prefer the htc.great upload dude :)))

  • angry birds is running on the s2 but isnt on the sensation

  • I wonder if some of the apps on the SGII pull up faster because they load from the phone rather than from the microSD card like the Sensation does.

  • thanx for the vid :D

  • you're right, the sgs2 is generaly just that little bit quicker. on the other hand the sensations was almost allways quicker geting back to the home screen.

btw. lookin forward to the multitouch vid'

    thx f. t.vid.

  • now i can see clearly the sensation is faster in opening apps... the market on the sensation was annoying but with my eyes i saw the sensation work better beyond that

  • Am I the only one who's Android Market isn't showing the paid apps? It showed on my previous phone which is the Desire HD version 2.2. But now the GS2 isn't showing it, neither is my Nexus S and both are Gingerbread, is it because of the newer firmware?

  • love how the Sensation has "instant capture" yet the GSII camera loaded faster...

  • @daivikp instant capture means that photos will be taken quicker, it doesnt mean the app opens quicker :)

  • @Yipster118118 yes, but with that you'd assume that it'd be capable of loading the camera up faster (seeing as the Sense 3.0 has that new lockscreen)

  • I BOUGHT THE GALAXY and compared it to my friend's Sensation. I swear I've never felt better about a phone in my life. THANK YOU for making me choose the right phone :D

  • Hay sam love your videos, just wanted to know I notice that the battery on the gs2 was full and the htc was half? Was the htc used more? or can we expect to see almost double the battery from the gs2?

  • Quick question. Am i able to get the nice HTC clock widget on the SGS2 when I buy it?

And do I have to download that somewhere?

  • @baloew yeah. Beautiful Widgets from the market does the same job and looks equally as nice. You can also get skins for it aswell.

  • i love you man. and your comparisons :)

  • 1:28 CAT TROLLED YOU ON GMAIL

  • Can you try hitting the sensation's RAM to around 50-75MB Free? I know they really start lagging at that point.

  • Lol, even my 1 year old Desire flicks through the market more smoothly than the Sensation =)

  • my HTC Wildfire does the same on the market when u flick through apps, it stutters and lags a bit. i also did the multitouch test on it and turns out it can only handle 3 fingers at a time so...thats bad, since i have to keep this phone for another year and a half :(

  • lol galaxy S2 opens faster but HTC sensation closes faster :D

  • @RedSniper108 That's cos of touchwiz or some stupid samsung widget. To be more fair they should both be using something like launcher pro or something.

  • @RedSniper108 true haha

  • @RedSniper108 The Galaxy S2 Plays an animation when closing, the HTC doesn't, The Galaxy S2 Home button reacts when you release the button not when you push it the first time.

  • @CMASC1989 well animation or not or it reacts when you relaeased it or not it is laggy in my eyes

  • @RedSniper108 lol the sensation opens slower but the galaxy opens faster. because thats the animation:), the galaxy does not have one ;)............bunch of biased reviews,i want the galaxy 2 & yet seeing these reviews makes me wonder if these are real or set up to look better than it really is. reminds me of the iphone fans.

  • @RedSniper108

That delay is put there purposely becausye the s2 is waiting for the 2nd click to go into voice command mode, kind of a silly choice IMO but im sure a firmware update or maybe custom rom will fix that or make it optional.

  • Grandmother just bought my SGS2, can't wait when she'll come to me and grand a present. :P

Also, yesterday I was at mobile phone shop and tested SGS2. I really liked how touch-screen is so obedient.

    Thanks for reviews! ;)

  • AH! was waiting for his so long thanks! :)

  • is the camera problem or these phone really lag like this?

  • Which touch screen is more responsive

  • @MrSiad123 Guess what... i have a Multi-Touch video just edited!! ;)

  • @samjpullen get it uploaded. :D

  • @Peter19940 :D I look at what the viewers want and try to provide (that almost rhymes)

  • thank you for completing my request!!! :)

  • @Isuru1995 :) i do try and fulfill most requests if possible depending upon time ;)

  • @samjpullen it helped alot

  • @samjpullen, is the HTC that much clearer or is your lighting different on both phones?

  • @TheRockNinja1 The SGS2 is wayyyy clearer.

  • @TheRockNinja1 The HTC looking at it directly looks better than on camera, but the viewing angles on the S-LCD are poor, you need to hold it at the perfect angle to get the best viewing experience.

  • awsome. and first.
