  • Very good. That's revelation knowledge.

  • born september 11th

  • Christmas- The celebration of Christ's conception!

  • Thank you very much for uploading!!!! i wanted to study about the birthday of Yeshua but I have to start with John's conception but I can't find resources... now this answer my prayer.... toda raba!!!! God bless!

  • JOSEPHIUS

WAS ENUFF OF A outside source to know jesus was here

  • There is no evidence of christs birth regarding what time of year, or even which year.

Infact there is no historical record of christ outside of scripture, even the scripture you source from was written 60+ years after the supposed birth of christ, making it fundamentally tricky to prove he ever lived at all.

This all seems very elaborate of you to try and calculate all of this from the NT, but you have to accept that it is not a reliable source, making your efforts quite futile.

  • "Infact there is no historical record of christ outside of scripture"

    Have you researched this?

"but you have to accept that it (the NT) is not a reliable source"

    Why is it not reliable?

  • @digitised You are indeeed wrong. Josephius is a very well known writer of those times, who recorded the important happenings of his day; he recorded Jesus' existence.

In turn, what makes you think the New Testament is not a reliable source?

  • @john3verse5 But josephus mentions jesus specifically as the messiah only once, and this accepted by most scholars to be later christian interpolation and not josephus own text.

The other mentions of a man named jesus bear no significant distinctions as to be your supposed messiah, jesus (yeshua) was a common name and without anything more specific you are left empty handed.

There are no other contemporary recordings of jesus, nothing else comes along until approx 55AD.

  • @digitised The fact that Josephus would speak of this character as messiah alone is rather interesting, seeing Josephus was by birth a Jew and would not quickly want to accept this view.

Other than that, why get lost in endless discussions when you could ask God yourself? The bible speaks about personal proof to 'receive the gift of the Holy Ghost'. According to the bible you would speak in a new prayer language as sign of receiving the HG. This would answer all questions, wouldnt it?

  • @john3verse5 Maybe you didnt understand what i was saying? im not sure.

it is the scholarly view that josephus probably never even spoke of jesus, the entire passage regarding the christ who died, and rose after 3 days is completely out of place in his writings. Further more there is nothing else in his work which covers this rather significant jewish prophecy. Isnt that a bit odd?

The messiah arrives, but jospephus dedicates a mere paragraph to his existence?

  • @john3verse5 "This would answer all questions, wouldnt it?"

Well i never got the gift, and i have been completely open to it since i can remember.

Its rather unfair if god chooses to ignore me and never communicate, but reveal himself to others. Especially since i get punished eternally for not accepting jesus as my saviour. Without any proof i would be simply 'wagering' that your god is real, and gullibility in turn for reward is dare i say immoral?

  • @john3verse5 "what makes you think the New Testament is not a reliable source?"

The fact that it makes miracle claims, the fact that no 2 documents of the 5000 known greek manuscripts the gospels are based on actually tell the same account. The fact that we have no idea who wrote any of the scriptures we have, and so many have been voted out at will as if they are merely trivial relics which we choose to favour based on social norms.

Why should i find any of it reliable?

  • @digitised I must say I am sincerely interested in the source where you got your information from regarding 'no 2 manuscripts...tell the same account' and so forth.

I do have to add that none of these arguments are weighty enough to dismiss the bible as fiction, certainly when thinking about all the amazing aspects that demonstrate the opposite of your present view point.

See my previous reply about receiving the Holy Ghost; it is worth investigating.

  • @john3verse5 Edinborough university has a webpage covering most of what i mentioned. It is estimated that the number of differences between the accounts given in those 5000 documents is around 150-250 thousand.

Of course large chunks of each synoptic gospel have identical greek passages between them, but this striking feature is the basis of the Q document hypothesis.

  • @john3verse5 Well we know the old testament to be full of historically problematic stories, unless you choose crypto-archeology over scholarly type you may be surprised to hear the conclusions of israeli archeologists who have been studying the holy lands with the OT in one hand have failed to find any evidence of exodus, the battles of moses and joshua, king davids city. In fact many have declared it fictional but likely inspired by minor tribal legends.

    I find this important.

  • @john3verse5 And by the same token, why do you choose to ignore far more recent scriptures such as the quran, the book of mormon, the qitab al aqdas..etc etc which were all written centuries later by people we know existed, and retained their word far better than the old and new testament?

You are not a muslim or bahi, so why are they unreliable?

  • @digitised Simple. Can any of those religions offer a God who confirms His Word with proof? I was offered this proof as described in the bible 13 years ago, which I tested and found to be true (receiving of Holy Ghost, along with miracle healings).

Also the book of mormon is supposed to be a supplement of the bible, yet (unlike for the coming of the new testament) there is no previous announcement of this addition. In fact the bible states the opposite "no shadow of turning".

  • @john3verse5 Well now you are making the miracle claim.

Please show me clear evidence of a miracle healing, find somebody who is genuinely sick and demonstrate in controlled conditions that the power of the holy spirit can heal them.

I will refuse all anecdotes, or results obtained outside of test conditions.

Its rather simple, but can you prove your self?

  • @digitised This is the closest to me being able to show you a healing as I am not with you in person: have a look on my personal page on YouTube and see the healing testimony.

Other than that, God is not a respecter of persons, if you ask Him to manifest Himself to you and you are genuine and humble. For starters, I just told you about the scriptures offering you to receive the holy Ghost; pursue it.

  • @john3verse5 As i made clear, personal testimony, anecdotal accounts etc are worthless. You need direct observed demonstrations in controlled conditions to prevent trickery and self deception.

I personally am open to any god revealing himself to me, but none ever have.

Maybe you hallucinated, there is no way to know if you did or did not from your perspective. A good indicator of reliability is whether your experience can be shared by others.

  • @john3verse5 If i claim there is a dragon in the room, and everyone else present says that the room is definitely dragon-less, then maybe you need to evaluate your own position in light of others.

Also you need to consider that every other religion contains members who swear on their lives that their own particular god/gods has revealed themselves to them personally.

How can you account for this obvious discrepancy?

My conclusion is that humans easily fool themselves, this explains the claims.

  • @digitised I know muslims, sikhs, hindus and christians who all believe knowingly that their god personally interacts with them to some degree. But if their god is exclusive, then they cannot all be correct. Only one could be right, or the real god or gods are just deceivers and tricksters.

Most religions boast miracles, but like i have said, none have ever been demonstrated in controlled conditions. This is why miracle claims fail to be realistic, physical laws have never known to be broken.

  • @digitised, Because out of all the religious books, ONLY the Bible has prophecies that relate to today. The God of Jacob, Isaac and Abraham chooses to use PROPHECY & MIRACLES to reveal that He is the TRUE God. Even the Muslims realize that their "prophet" had no miracles and no prophecies to prove Islam.

  • so why do we celebrate Christmas in December?

  • Because Constantine wanted civil rest and everyone in his kingdom of one accord. He implemented a compromise that blended the pagan winter solstice holiday with a Christian concept. The early church fathers did not set the course straight, but fell deeper into their own sin of disregarding the commandments connected to the Feasts of the Lord.

  • Awesome teaching...what a great way to spread the truth of scripture!!!

  • This is really interesting, would love to hear more.

  • This is great. Thank you!!

  • What a beginning. Just awesome!!
