She sings alto in the choir at Calvary as well. Lots of female soloists sing in the alto section when they can sing "soprano" notes...probably for voice preservation...just because you CAN doesn't mean you should make a habit of it...over time it could limit your range.

well if you look at the videos from Richard Smallwood & Vision, the sopranos almost always out number the altos and sense the sopranos sing higher notes/pitches their voices travel faster and can easily drown out the altos if there isnt enough of them. but there are a few reasons why a singer would chose to sing low

Also because richard has an overflow of sopranos. When you have this you have to figure out....who is a soprano that can sing alto? not all sopranos can sing alto. Chareese Nelson and Vanessa Williams often sing soprano notes in their leading but might not be able to withstand singing soprano for long periods of time.
