Not my favorite album. I prefer Days of Future Passed and In Search of a Lost Chord, but it was their first #1 album in the UK and hit high in the US #20, oddly enough.
@probrojeffro Personally, myself I'd have to go with To Our Children's Children's Children and Question Of Balance. Future Passed is good too. I like In Search Of The Lost Chord, but a couple of the tracks seem a little bit too...dated, to me.
I remember playing this for my brother as we were driving across the state to work and he thought for sure this was Frank Zappa. I laughed at the time, but I can kind of see that now in this song (and this one only) by Moody Blues.
The Moodies are a truly phenomenal band of all time!!! Their music is full of true beauty and real emotion and deep feeling. Very poetic!! Their music is pure magic for the soul!! The Moodies forever my friends!! ♥
The Four Tops didn't cover this song, but another Moody Blues track, Life is Just a Simple Game, around 1970. So Deep Within You was released on the B side of a Moody Blues single in 1969, the flip of Never Comes the Day. The songs were, of course, taken from the album.
@smokiebird06. i agree. fudge the R and R hall of nothing. no offence to blondie, but she should not be in over the moody blues. there are many other artists that are no caliber compared to the legend moody blues and they are in also. shame on the R and RHOF.
@zooluke It's politics. Same reason they wouldn't put Roy Rogers in the cowboy hall of fame...because he wouldn't let them have his horse trigger ...which he had preserved by taxidermy. But who cares anyways? The fans of the MB carry them around in their hearts and minds on a daily basis....
It never ceases to amaze me how many people say... 'haven't heard this in ages!'... I hope to God i am not one of the few people who still llisten to whole albums and not just this cut or that cut....
THEY BELONG IN THE ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME.....why?....they're not connected to the system of BullShit Producers so that leads me to believe the RRHF is BS!
@smokiebird06 the rock and roll hall of fame is in ohio at this moment the moody blues have a chance at getting in the song writers hall of fame at times square along with john sebastian and burt bacharach
Elvis or Tom Jones should have covered this great song, written by Mike Pinder.

"Take your guitar out of the garden." Wow, what a zinger. That was almost as bad as this silly song. hahahaa

One of the worst songs ever...or at least its lyrics. Simply AWFUL. ;^)
guitargarden 9 months ago
@guitargarden You need to hear more or their songs....or read some poetry...or read something.
You have missed the point so totally that you should not be allowed to listen to music for the next
month. Bad boy, girl or person. Take your guitar OUT of the garden!

The lone person who dislikes this is either mischievous, clicked the wrong box by mistake, or has cloth ears!
Another brilliant piece of music by the underrated genius that is Mike Pinder.
The flute and electric guitar on this classic track are the icing on the cake.
Timeless.

Rispetto ad altri grandi gruppi degli anni 70, trovo che attualmente i Moody Blues siano ingiustamente sottovalutati, se non dimenticati.
