When Oprah found out she was pregnant and told her mom about it, she freaked out and kicked her out of the house, told Oprah to go live with her dad, that's why she says in the interview that Gayle is the mother she never had, because her mother wasn't there for her when she needed her the most.

I don't understand the amazement over their friendship. Maybe b/c God blessed me w/ such a friend. My best friend and I have been friends since the 7th grade and I LOVE HER! I can honestly say that I love her. She is the sister God provided me from another mother. We are close. If I had the money that Oprah has, we would do some of the same things. She wouldn't have to work for anything & their isn't anything suspect about it. She inspires me, she moves me, and she always tells me the truth.

i feel that Barbara knew some of the answers to the interview before she gave it. That is why it went so smooth. Barbara is still being PAID to get the good questions and snap up the best dialogue and she does exactly that. The producers have some say so in the matter. It is kinda staged, but Oprah and Stedman did seperate at one point, but it was for work related purposes and it was mutual. Stedman would not be in a situation he wasnt happy in
