Well i am from czech republic so i am real about that :D I just wanted to give you guys perspective. But dont be pissed we ussualy pay twice the price of every other firearm here. Even the new CZ guns or glocks(which are manufactured in austria) are lot more expensive here than in US.
@Jigssaw1989 Since when are CZ weapons manufactured in Austria? I very much doubt that! There is really no reason for Czech to buy any other gun than just Czech made.. we have one of the best weapons in the world.. and can be better if we were allowed..!! huh? So many great weapons are getting destroyed in the Czech rep. just because our coward traitor politicians who listen to washington.. there will be never free ownership of weapons in the Czech rep. as in the states.. but who knows? :D
@TheVeneth CZ weapons are of course manufactered in czech rep. , the glocks are manufactured in austria. Try to read it again .).
You dont really know much about gun policies in czech republic. No smallarms i know about were destroyed here. @MrGazrp Thanks! I'm excited for you! LOL I swear Czechpoint should hire me for sales. I talk up these rifles as much as possible. I just love this rifle! Keep me posted.
@SoccerDJRob I have never had a jam in it and I have shot just about everything with it. Honestly this is my favorite carbine (and I have many of them). As far as accuracy goes it is great. I shoot against my friends AK's and I win everytime with it. Put it to you this way, if it every hit the fan this is the rifle I would want.
Very good video. SA VZ 58 its Czechslovakian army weapon. Czech army used now type CZ 805. Its the new weapon with caliber 5.56 x 45.But Slovakian army still used SA vz 58. Slovakian soldiers fighting with this gun in Afghanistan and its perfect. In Slovakia can you buy this weapon in semi automatic version. Price: 220€ .
@D4VID1 this isn´t precise, czech army still using SA 58, CZ 805 is still under testing and as far as I know from my friend who tested the new CZ 805 it does perform very well. And even if the CZ805 will be acepted, it will be issued only for special forces and maybe later for rest of army and some police unit, I know it because I serve i czech army
I like your straight forwardness when reviewing this weapon. Good job. I own an Interarms Bulgarian AK-74. It is my first firearm and haven't had it longer than 3 weeks. I chose this particular variant because of the low recoil and the 5.45x39mm round has just as much punch as the 7.62x39mm round, but with greater range and accuracy. On the other hand, I am still very partial to underfolders and somewhat like the vz.58. After seeing your video, I'll begin to consider this rifle.
@EquipaPatriot Thanks! The 74 is a great weapon and I was torn between this and building a 5.45 Saiga. I still might one day.... Great rifle, great round!
As a diehard AK/mil surplus type guy, I just bought one of these vz58 rifles last night for 889+tax at my local shop. I went looking for something new and had a long list of things to check out. After handling a lot of ak's, saigas, ar's, c93, galils, m14s etc, this was the only rifle that stood out to me. It was just so light and comfortable with the fixed stock, I was hooked instantly, I knew I had to have it. The only downside is I won't get to shoot it until tonight.
Yes, it's a D-TECHNIK from cz-usa, didn't get to shooting it tonight. I'm planning on putting some golden tiger through it this weekend and buying some m67 surplus since this thing looks so insanely easy to clean even compared to an ak. I have a strong feeling this will be my new favorite and I haven't even shot it yet. Still amazed how light this thing is compared to my other rifles that I used to think were "light."
@Deek57 Hell yeah man! Keep me posted... I've been slackin on range time... MAd busy lately but I put about 1,000 rounds through mine. I'm about to join a new range. Hoping to make some good range vids too. I want to slap an aimpoint micro on the troy battle rail. OH BABY!!!
Two thumbs up for cz-usa. It shot great and tight except that my stance allowed some slight up/down bobbing, heavy winter clothing to blame mostly. At first the sights were shooting low but I got it squared away pretty fast with the adjustment tool. It was fine horizontally. The trigger pull... there's nothing else in my collection with that smooth of a trigger, felt like something that should be on a long range rifle, not a vz58. It didn't seem like there was much kick to it either.
@ctfam Did you have any problems with feed jamming? When I took my Vz. 58 out the other day, I had a couple jams. The cartridges weren't quite clearing the ridge on the way into the chamber. I've given it a good cleaning since then but I haven't taken it back out yet.
@BloodFetishist666 Nope. Not one jam. Well.... I had a squib using wolf black box FMJ but that had nothing to do with the rifle... I only have about 1,200 through it but so far but it's flawless. DAMN I haven't been to the range in so long. :(
I went to a gun shop this Saturday and saw two of those Century Arms versions for $550, should I get it or should I just spend the extra money on the CZ-USA gun?
@nbenicewicz Hmmm That's a good question... I have been hearing good things about the Century VZs lately. You can get them from Century right now for $350 which is a STEAL. I would probably buy one and try it out... The Czechpoints are mint and flawless out the box but cost $900. Check out the century deal. I'd say go for it!
@nbenicewicz dude i just bought a century arms version from j&g sales for 360 it took a week to get it and its awsome good fit good finish i like it better than my ak
Nice rifle man. I got one of these with the folding stock here in Canada for 800 bucks, and it is one sweet rifle. I swapped out the ugly furniture for all black polymer with railed handguards though. I've handled and shot AKs through the military and I can confidently say that this is like a slimmed out and refined AK, so light and easy to use with all that 7.62 punch and very accurate to boot. Anyway nice review man and congrats on the rifle.
@xJTF2x NICE. Hell yeah, everytime I pick up this rifle I think WOW. It feels like a toy! Very slim and light yet solid and it has been flawless with a case of wolf hps and fmjs. Range vids coming soon.
@semiautoriflelover Most def. I've been busy with work and we've been getting a blizzard every week for 5 weeks. Haven't been shooting for a while. Soon... I promise. Thanks for watching.
"those damn czech were genuises" lol :D anyway I served with this rifle in the czech army, if you have any question or want something to ID I can help, see ya
@Xzibit9 Cool! Thanks for the comment! How did the VZ treat you in the field? No problems with mine so far. Just about 1,000 rounds at this time. I'm no soldier but I am hard on my gear.
@ctfam Well the best about it is the size and weight of the gun itself and the magazines when you compare them to an AK. Another great thing is that you can swap the stocks, all you need is just a big flat screwdriver. Most of the time I used the full stock I had better groupings with it than the folding one. Required little maintenance, at our basic training we were issued with really beaten up rifles that were just for grunts in basic. We got used motor oil to keep them going.
@ctfam Minimal problems with them. Field strip is easy but one thing I hate is the spring on the piston. On the full-auto guns the spring just gets smaller and dosent return to its original size so it gets stuck in its place that was most frustrating while doing timed dissasembly and it got lost a few times. The positions on the fire selector are different. The forward is full auto, down is safe back is single.
sounds like you live in a fucked up state like i do lol. is it CT. I'm hoping to have one soon. Hell in Ct. i can't even find a AK-74 for less than 600.00$ witch is a total rip off for a 400.00$ AK
@rctrav YUP I'm in CT. Dude where are you looking for a 74? You can buy a WASR from Centerfire but If I was you I would just convert a saiga. Buy a Saiga 5.45 for $349. Convert it whenever you are ready/have the money. It's cheap and easy and you will have a REAL Russian AK. I was going to go that route but I fuckin LOVE this VZ!!!
@ctfam Hey thanks for the web sit . what FFL DEALER do you get your guns shipped to. And how do i no if those Ak are Ct. compliant like no bayonet lug and pined muzzle brake.
@rctrav I use Riverview in East Windsor. It's $20 and they're close to me. The WASR has no brake but the bulgarian 74 does. (I THINK) You could always just call and ask before buying. Also look into the Saiga. The conversion is not hard.
@rctrav I have a the CA Bulgarian 74(my first ak), its not bad at all i have a video review. Cheap furniture and no cromeline barrel, but build quality is better then most wasrs.
Great. You got yourself a really great rifle. Have to agree with you, the mag release is to tiny in comparision to the AK. Should have made it better. I also find it a lot easier to put mags into an AK than into a Vz. 58. Other than that, little need to change stuff on that gun, though.
@BlueCollarSurvival Nope. Totally different animal. That is what turns most folks off. If you like commie guns you probably already have an AK. No parts will interchange. I don't have an AK anymore so this is my bottom bitch. Range time tomorrow for sure!
I'm glad I didn't pay 900$ for mine. It's a very good rifle though. Czechpoint is good company. Depending on which AK you buy, the finish will be superior on the VZ 58. With that said, even my Romanian AK with tool marks on the receiver still functions as good as my VZ 58. Stamped or milled receiver doesn't make any difference in how the rifle holds up or how accurate it is from owning both.
This is going to be my first rifle, seriously I'm happy for you. Can't wait to see your vids of you firing that sweet gun. The stock looks awesome, has that worn out look like its been through a few wars. lol
I love the look of these rifles man. I would much much rather own one of these then an AK-47 for a first buy. To me these seams like superior quality to AK-47's incorporating some of the AK-47's issues with Improvements.
@specialforces99 Thanks for watching. I forgot to mention the last round bolt hold open which is a nice touch. I love the AK but this is a more refined rifle. Plus with the price of Arsenal AKs these days the VZ-58 is not a bad buy.
great review probably the best review i've seen of the vz. i'm familiar with handguns and i think this will be my first rifle purchase

@ctfam Hey thanks for the web sit . what FFL DEALER do you get your guns shipped to. And how do i no if those Ak are Ct. compliant like no bayonet lug and pined muzzle brake.
rctrav 1 year ago

Does this rifle take standard AK accessories?
BlueCollarSurvival 1 year ago

The stock looks awesome, has that worn out look like its been through a few wars. lol
be well, be prepared!
