  • Anything would have been better than the TV series opening. I think it contributed to the demise of Enterprise. Actually the writing, the story lines were good. But that 80's power ballad killed the whole Star Trek "feel". Never underestimate the power of music and opening to the success of a TV Show. It was cheesy and uninspiring. I don't know who made the decision on that opening but they should have been fired and a new opening created at least after the first year.

  • @wynnbeez I think you hit the nail right on the head!

  • nice work. but reguardless of your be upset about people not liking the fonts....it's too stylized, too intricate. The font was nicely made...but too 'busy'.

  • I like it - it sounded like the very beginning had a hint of the "Final Five" theme from the end the new Battlestar, and the rest of the Tudors theme immediately reminded me of the theme to Firefly - which oddly enough

  • @ragnarokofborg People have mentioned Firefly and Battlestar to me before, seems the tone of the music is similar, despite the subject matter being so different! Thank you =)

  • This is pretty good. Still like the original better but it's nice to see the other ideas out there.

  • @Arythin001 Agree whole heartedly with you, this is all fine and good but I can't sit there and belt out the song (like I will admit to doing with "Faith of the Heart"!) But thank you for watching! =)

  • reminds me of the final five theme (bs galactica).. its good! thumbs up!

  • @crupf28 Thank you! And agreed on the Battlestar, although the Tudors couldn't be as far from it in terms of historiography and subject matter! =)

  • I dont like this one,the old medival letters, not startrek...

Also music is nothing modern..too me its an epic fail...

  • @MetalChanel5of10 Apologies for my snide response, I'm sick and tired of repeating this.

Enough with the font, it's a nod to the Tudors as is the music which, with an ounce of historical knowledge, you'll know was quite a few years ago. So of course the music's not 'modern' but then again, are all the Star Trek themes 'modern'? No.

Define what you mean by 'modern'.

  • wow i really liked that. just as much as the real opening

  • @norrock1 Thank you!

  • @starshipdiscovery is that you talking at the begining or did you find that somewhere?

  • @norrock1 Sorry for the late reply, but as you may already know it's Jonathan Rhys Myers from the BBC's The Tudors doing the VO!

  • @starshipdiscovery whos jonathon rhys? lol. in other words: noi didnt already no lol

  • im making a star trek vid and im really getting a little mad with it. I cant seem to put a few episodes together. Could you help me or give me some tips.

    Wkd Vid btw 5*

  • @kwldude Basically just watch the scene and try to fit it to the music, use the music to reflect the mood or say what the characters don't say. Between the lines, that sort of thing. Best of luck :)

  • wow GOOD job...

what´s the name of the music? It sounds grate xD... .

  • @afindustries It's the theme from BBC's 'The Tudors' (sorry to send you a Wiki link but it's good - wikipedia. org/wiki/The_Tudors)

  • Beautifully done. Though I love what they used, this was really good. The music and intro were fitting. Font did not fit at all. Something more contemporary would have sufficed. All in all, good work!

  • @starmedic *salutes* Why thank you, glad you enjoyed.

Again, with the font, I sound like a broken record. Basically Font = nod to the Tudors. I stole their music, I stole their font. :D

  • it ends up looking like the beginning of all the other sci-fi shows out there... but it's still a hundred times better than the one they originally had. very well done.

  • Oooooh i LOVE it!

  • omg, that was brilliant! THIS should have been the theme song. It fit so perfectly, and ties in the traditional orchestral type of music.

  • @OAXM202 I actually liked Faith of the heart, something different for a new generation sort of thing. But I like the Tudors as well, just the shows are different entities. But if you don't experiment, you'll never know!

    Thanks for watching :)

  • I liked it.

I just didn't like of the font. ^^

Sometimes it's hard to read. -.-'

  • @JoKerSan42 As I've mentioned before, font was a nod to the Tudors series. But thanks for watching :)

  • quite good accually well done starship discovery

  • @Nanopizza1701 Thank you - it was hard with the two being centuries apart! XD

  • W.O.W.

  • @charliebabie2 Thanks!

  • If you even make a fan series, this should so be it's intro.

  • @NANOFORGE Thank you! But I'd probably stick to the Trek adage and use some uplifting instrumental with some FX sounds over the top. If I ever made a series that is!

  • Damn ... its really really good ;)

  • @stevenlindenau Thank you very much! And I've noticed I made it two years ago! So I'm happy you're all still viewing it :D

    Thanks Steven LLAP x

  • das ist total toll *_*

    it fits perfectly..

  • @Tassilady Thanks :D

  • this is the better of the one's I've seen

  • Thank you! :D

  • wie heis der titel song der serie

  • (Apologies, my German is appaulling!)

der beamter song der serie ist "Faith of the heart" gesungen von Russel Watson.

diese musik ist aus eine programm in Großbritannien genannt "The Tudors"

hoffen dass ich geholfen habe! (traurig für das schlechte Deutsch)!

  • great! *****

  • Thanks :D

  • Excellent job, I like it very much. Well done!

  • Thank you! LLAP! x

  • Smashing job Starship.........great editing........Cheers

  • My pleasure! Thank you =)

  • Excellent!!! Well done :)

The music absoloutely fits, but the font.....;)

    Anyway I like it, 5* :)

  • Thanks =)

    Glad you liked it!

  • good, but the font is screwed

  • Yeah, seems Tudor history doesn't mix in with Trek.

Thanks anyway - I appreciate the views.

  • Pretty good, but then again, anything's better than that stupid song. I mean, a star trek opener with lyrics? Come on.

  • Rumour has it that the closong song on ENT was meant to be the opener.

And I see your point and, although I have to admit to singing along to Russel Watson. Didn't like it that much but did sing nevertheless.

But I also air guitared to the closing music!!

Which, in my opinion, rocked muchly and should have been used for the opening - Paramount what were you thinking?!?!

And thanks for the positive feedback! =)

  • This is a very good Alternate Opening .I love it.

    5 Stars .

  • Thanks =) Pleased you liked it!

    LLAP!

  • That's fantastic! You've morphed two shows I love together, and made Enterprise seem exceptionally better!

(I'm still seething from the finale, so I don't love Enterprise as much as I should)

  • Thank you!

I was annoyed at the finale and am still in denial about it.

(I blame Berman and Braga for it and partly the network for the cancellation of the show in the US.)

But I still think that somewhere, be it in fan fiction or fan movie, the NX-01 is still boldly going...

But thank you for the comment! I appreciate it =)

  • wow very nicely done ! would have made the Enterprise better

  • Thank you! I appreciate the comment!

    LLAP! =)

  • Awesome! Could lose the Tudor fonts but a great opening theme!

  • Thanks and yes, by now I have realised people have noticed that the 16th century font and the 22nd century space ship do not go!!

    But thanks for viewing!

And I'm now considering making a new intro, no tudor script, no clangy sounds and just getting rid of that bloody font!!!

  • Acualy i kinda like the font, its what sets it aside from all the other onces, gave it more class in my opinion, just if the bold was turned of it would be easyer to read

  • =)

To be honest, I don't think the bold was intentionally turned on. I think WMM had a funny five minutes. But I don;t have access to my computer at the moment but when I get hom I'll fiddle around with it and upload a brand new one!

(And then get told off by WMG or the BBC again and then have to fight with YouTube to keep it up and have my inbox filled with spam...)

I miss the old YouTube. Perhaps in the future they can invent some sort of video site just for fan videos. Ah well.

    Thank You!

  • im working on one my self for a friend who wants to start a fan based seriers, cbs and paramount dont have a problem with use using there copy writted stuff as long as you give them credit and make clear no profit of any kind is beeing made

  • Cool! I'd like to see that! Let me know when you upload it =)

And it wasn't Paramount, it was the BBC as I used the Tudors. But all they did was sent me and emial. Then I heard nothing and then the audio re-appeared magically on YouTube!

    But thanks :D

  • er...i mean without them talking...

  • wow.... i like it...nice job...good music choice...would/ve been better with scenes of the crew talking, maybe stills with fade effects or something...but awsome job nontheless

  • Thanks, I know what you mean but I was parodying/paralleling the Tudors and I thought it would be nice to use moving images. I didn't think to use too many stills because it's a video, not a slideshow. But I get you view and your comments are appreciated =)

And it was only WMM after all!!

    LLAP!

  • Don't make me laugh!

How long did it take you to come up with the insult? A couple of hours?

You even missed out 'the'. And you call me the retard? Pot, kettle black. I'm guessing you're american eh?

If you're going to insult someone, do it properly. No grow up and go back to school. Timewasting idiot. EPIC FAIL.

  • whoa, starshipdiscovery. i'm american and extremely proud of it...don't be insulting the people for the stupidity of one.

(pst, you know i've commented on this video before and love it except for the fonts)

  • Apologies for the whole tarring with the same brush thing. I should know better =(

I just don't like trolls coming on my videos, wasting my time with asinine comments. And it was the use of 'retarded' which made me think it was American. It seems to be my cousin's favourite insult at the moment but I'd never heard it used as an insult before, just a derogatory term.

And now I've half a mind to change the stupid font, seems people really seem to hate it. XD

  • Except the fonts, I like the narration and the song.

Fonts a bit too gothic, except if we're going for vamp trekkies.

  • You have no idea how much I laughed at the idea of Archer & co. running around the NX-01 with fangs! Ah, that would make a brilliant fanfiction crossover story!

Anyway, at the risk of sounding like a broken record player, the font was merely a nod to the BBC's 'The Tudors'. Being set in the 16th Century the programme obviously had a gothic/old English style font. And there is only so much that WMM has to offer!

But thanks for your comment, I appreciate it!

    XD

  • dang, a fellow trekker !!!

"Life is long and not proper"

    Cool Vid.

If there's more trekkies in the world, we would abolish war a decade ago. It's the prime directive.

  • Totally agree! We'd be out there right now, exploring and pushing that final frontier further then it's ever been before!

And seriously, we need a new Trek series. I'd quite happily write it, direct, star in it and even shoot it myself! Even if I have to kidnap the cast and shoot it in Cornwall or Scotland!!

    LLAP XD

  • i love that! it makes the show feel a bit more down to earth! really like it!

  • Thank you! Glad you liked it and thanks for commenting! LLAP! XD

  • whats with the font?! its in the 22nd century you know.

  • I know, ENT was set in 2151 however the font was merely a nod to the BBC's 'The Tudors' (set round about the 15th/16th century) which is where I took the audio from.

  • I think this startrek should not have been set at the begaining I think it shouw have been set up in willam shates time when he is amerial and in comand of starfleet

headcorderders and the enterprise A use as caption johnathon archer and the crew.

  • I think they wanted do do a sort of prequel to Kirk's era, sort of showing you what led to the formation of the Federation and explain why things were the way they were. It's a shame that Enterprise took so long to get off the ground and then, when the fourth season was beginning to pick up, they cancelled it. If anything, I wished they could have looked at the formation of the neutral zone!

    Thanks for the comment!

  • That was brilliant, so wasn't expecting it to be the Tudors theme.

    Amazing work!

  • I loved the Tudors and it was the line "...but you only know how it ends" which made me think of Trek - how we knew the endings through DS9 and VOY but how ENT was going 'back to the beginning'.

Thank you! Your nice comments make it worth all the pain I went through as WMM tried everything it could to sabotage my video!! :)

  • Very cool video! and I like The Tudors :)

  • Thank you - I'm pleased you liked it! I really liked the Tudors until a certain character died (who I shall not name and ruin the story for those who haven't yet seen it!!)

    But thank you! :)

  • I commented on this video several months ago, but watching it again I am reminded of its brilliance. What is Enterprise? You captured that in this intro, the character's are captured, the prequel belief mirrored. While I could comment that for an actual intro the Tudor sounds should be taken out, the Elizabethen script removed and the pictures flashing be different....this captures the essence of Enterprise in a way I've never seen in an alternate intro.

  • Thank you, a very intellectual comment. I may do that, remove the Tudor's introduction and remake the intro without the flashing - though it was meant to echo the Tudor's intro.

I'll have a play on movie maker!

And thank you again! xx :)

  • It's Okay I still prefer the Orginal Theme music mainly because the music is stronger and focus more in human achievement.

The text is too much ornamented but I like your part when you present the cast, In the orginal theme you could not associate the characters with the actors names. In season 3 instead of adding some annoying background instruments to the "where My heart will take me" they could have done something like you did.

  • Agreed, 'Faith of the heart' is still my choice for ENT. It captures the essence of ENT - the idea that something greater is 'out there' and we should try despite the numerous obstacles to overcome. Just the line "I will see my dream come alive at last" sums it up!

My point exactly! (like in my other video)

I wished they'd done a name reveal in the opening credits too. The Old English font, as I explained earlier, was merely a nod to the Tudors :)

But thank you, for constructive criticism :D

  • I gave you just for the beginning 5 stars! =D

  • Thank you thank you thank you! *hugs*

Five stars! Woo! Glad you liked it!

  • I love the music

U gotta send me a sample of the song

  • Thanks! Glad you liked :) The song is only a one minute introduction to the BBC's TV series 'The Tudors' though!

  • VERY nice. I didn't like the font used for text..a tad bit too ornate but something like that...a little old school. Other than that it was beautifully done.

  • Thanks! The font was simply a nod to 'The Tudors'! But thanks for watching - glad you liked it! XD

  • Oh how I love this video! Good job!

  • Thank you for commenting! *is happy* :)

  • GREAT JOB!!!!!

  • Thanks! :)

  • I agree, this is the best!

  • Thank You! Glad you liked it! LLAP! XD

  • This is the best, I always find things like this hilarious XD

  • Why thank you muchly XD I'm pleased you enjoyed it! LLAP!

  • This is great!

  • Why thank you! The audio just screamed Enterprise and then wouldn't leave me alone until I made a video! So I did! Glad you like it! :)

  • I can't tell which opening is better...

But you still did a great job :)

  • Thanks :) I'm pleased you like them both! LLAP! XD

  • I did and it´s really not a problem. I like people do something for their obsession .P

  • Not bad :)

  • Thank you! ;)

  • It's just the font. If you changed it to a more classic trek look you'd be quids in I reckon!

  • Coolness! Though the font was a tribute to The Tudors, I might put the Trek font on it! Thanks again :)

  • Anything is better than the crap they had as the opening. But this was sweet!

  • Thank you! :) Glad you like it! LLAP!

  • this video completely sucked

  • So can you give me any reason it sucked other then some asinine comment?

  • don't worry it's great specaly the first 25 sec were great

  • Thank you! And thanks for the fave too! Your profile rocks! Pleased you liked it, I'll be posting some more once my horrible, horrible exams are over! Thanks again :)

  • Now thats good!

  • SQUEEEE! Thank you!! XD

  • Interesting beginning. It's likeable. But what episode is the one with Phlox holding an umbrella and talking?

  • I have a funny feeling tis from A Night in Sickbay but don't quote me on that. I remember T'Pol has an umbrella in that episode and Archer is wet from the rain and then she holds his hand (to make him feel less bad about being wet I suppose!!) but yeah I think it's that one!

    Thanks for the comment! LLAP!

  • Yes, it was A Night In Sickbay

  • Thought it was - thanks *vbg*

  • lool good job xD

  • Thank you! Glad you liked it! :)

  • Yeah, the font ruins it.

  • The font was a nod to the BBC's Tudors in addition to the music

  • Fantastic Video :D really like the ending effects and the music is great too!

  • *bows* Why thank you! For taking time to comment and the positive feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it XD! LLAP!

  • good Job!

  • Thank you very much, I'm pleased you liked it! :)

  • very good

  • Glad you liked it! LLAP!

  • When those string elements came in I was thinking it felt a bit like the intro to Firefly...

  • LOL! It does now that you mention it! Thanks for watching! :)

  • I dont personally care for the music, but its a nicly edited video. Obviously some thought went into it and not rushed together

  • Thanks for the comment! It's not the music I would have chosen for ENT (after all, it's from the Tudors which is a period drama and probably as far away from the sci-fi universe as physically possible!) but I just heard the opening monologue and thought how ENT took it back to the beginning which was a wonderful idea. I was just annoyed it was canceled before the Earth/Romulon war.

But thanks for viewing and taking time to post the comment! I appreciate all feedback! LLAP!

  • *Very* cool! They should have had you do the intro sequence, rather than the 80's hair band ballad they used. That wasn't bad, but it kind of missed the point, IMHO.

  • Thanks! I would have loved to play with the intro but alas they chose Russel Watson!

I don't mind the opening credits to ENT, if anything I was surprised cos I was expecting some uplifting instrumental like TNG or the others had.

Thanks for the comment and the view!

    LLAP! :)

  • wow amazing

  • Thank you! Really, all these nice comments! *blushes*

    I'm pleased you liked it!

  • Hot damn, that works amazingly well... I almost wish this was the opening we got. Very well done and excellent work man.

  • Cheers! I loved the Tudors and every time the credits rolled, I found myself thinking 'now how could I make a video to that...?'

    Thanks for watching! :) LLAP!

  • This works shockingly well!

I'd like to see a version using the Enterprise font.

  • Thanks! I though of it when I first watched episode 1 of the Tudors!

I was going to use the enterprise trek font but as it was the Tudors, I went for an old fashioned style one as another link.

    Thanks for viewing! :)

  • After watching the tudor's intro this is growing on me :)...however when you flash to pictures in the beginning narration I would suggest they be from TOS, TNG and DS9(to go along with "You only know how it ends"), just a thought.

  • Yeah, typically I thought of it after I posted it! But yes, a very good point - thank you! (And thank you for watching again!)

  • I like it as an intro, but I think the viewing of the characters isn't exactly Trekkish. Like the music(and especially the intro speech), though.

  • Yes I see what you mean about straying from the 'trekkish' view - I was hoping to parody the Tudors opening style! Thank you for viewing and commenting :)

  • Amazing work, The Tudors opening fits perfectly.

    Added to favorites.

  • Wow, thanks for the fave! :) Glad u like!

  • Wow that was awesome I was thoroughly impressed good job that was cool

  • Thankies! So pleased you like it! Took me a while with all the timing of the clips! XD

  • I see that wow well it definetly paid off. I think that had you have made that just as the show was starting that they should have used that opening as their main one. that's how good I think yours is.

  • Wow, I'm flattered! Thanks!

I just hope that either they make another trek show (or two :)and listen to the fans

    OR

I build a tardis, go back in time and save Enterprise! Either way, I'm good!

    Thanks for watching!

  • I want them to make another movie I think that would be awesome to see Trip and T'Pol on the big screen or at least their kids or something

  • BRILLIANT IDEA! I'm kinda writing fan fiction with their daughter in it but an ENTERPRISE MOVIE! *dances* I'd back it! Heck, I'd be in it! I'd do the credits! Even if I have to kidnap the cast and make it myself, It's a great idea! XD

  • I would back it to. that is a good idea we should start a petition and send it to Paramount

  • Heck yes! It could focus on the gaps between ENT and TOS - like the Earth/Romulan War. I don't know how it started though I have a theory.

  • hey that's how storylines are created right? They are always based on a theory.

  • Yeah! Well, my theory is that in the Mirror Universe (ENT) the Terran Empire expanded, enslaving many races. One day they came across two planets, Romulus and Remus. The Remans were passive, the Romulans not. Basically, the Romulans rebelled, their planet destroyed and 200 Romulans escaped the Terrans and crossed into the normal universe from the mirror one.

  • That's the reason that the Romulans started the war, because they thought Earth was the Terran Empire. And so, let war commence...

And also, the Vulcans look similar to the Romulans so there's some plot twist capabilities there!

  • That's MUCH better-- I could never stand the theme music.

  • Thanks! Glad you liked it! :)

  • That's right on-- The Romulans are from the Mirror Universe-- that makes sense. I think there's a Romulan infulence on First Contact-- the Mirror one being the genuine one. What about mirror Shinzon?

  • Shinzon- was he Picard's clone in Nemesis? (Sorry, I am making my way through all the Trek films again and have just finished the Shatner era- Generations is next!)

But if I'm right, yeah - bring in the clone! Because doesn't Shinzon agree with the Remans?

  • I have to agree. Great job. Very unique approach. :)

  • Thank you! I appreciate it! XD

  • Great Job Love It!

  • Thanks! So pleased you liked it! :)

  • Thank you! Glad you liked it XD

  • Brill! :D

  • Thanks! I just loved the music! Thanks for commenting! :)
