Ever tried to read a real news paper on a crowded train or bus? Ever wondered how many trees make a total daily city newspaper circulation? No the Ipad is not a super powerful machine, it's strength is in simplicity and versatality. George Washington could come back and use it hands on successfully his first try, PPl just hate change.
No idea why they would be the same cost. They have very little overhead costs, no transport, no paper, it is simply a download. They have a chance to make a real killing with these apps but greed may prevent it from happening. A shame as it is a great idea.
There is a fabulous little paper in Adelaide called InDaily which has been doing this for a few years using some sort of peculiar web interface.
It is somewhat cumbersome to read on a computer screen as it is designed - it'd be great to see small publishers like InDaily take up this new distribution model!
