i play this on the guitar but my partner inherited an early 70s electone, i think ive just been inspired to learn to play the thing, hehe got a leslie speaker too.
Well, I think this is NOT a good version of the Canon, but it's a good try. Well, keep trying and developing your skills, hope you'll show us another better version. Keep goin' dude!!!!!
This piece was originally an organ piece, just so everyone knows. It was transcribed for strings only recently (within 100 years). Correct me if I'm wrong.
Fantastic Version from the organ, I wish to play that song too, beautiful, I love Classical Music, specially on this composer, this version from the organ is absolutely marvelous Congratulations!!! :-)
I'm going to be playing this song for my aunt's wedding. She's getting married to my Uncle Tim. This sounds even more beautiful than i play it. I can play part of Tocatta And Fugue! Very nice. I liked your preformance. When did you learn this? I don't even know how to read piano notes, So I just try to listen by ear, And then play it. It took me so long to learn this. Wonderful!
Thanks for your message. It's already some years ago that I learned this piece of music. I wish you good luck with practising it and playing it on the wedding! Regards, B.
hi! i like how you play this song-a masterpiece! i looked all over the web for some sheets for organ and i didn't find any for this play...can u help me?
Thank you. It's a Johannus Opus 220. It's a Dutch brand of electronic organs. This organ is analogue and about 20 years old, but I still like its sound.
Sometimes, I practice at the organ the church here. It's a three manual organ with about 30 stops. It gives a great feeling playing on a big organ in a big church.
I've been an organist for many years and if I were you I might be tempted to give up the engineering degree and get a masters degree in organ and then even a doctorate and play for the world because you certainly have a great talent. But if it's only a hobby don't ever let it die.
This is fantastic - well done you! I love this piece of music and wondered what it would sound like played on an organ for our wedding next year. Thank you very much!
hi, i want to have this song in my wedding. And i was wondering if i cant get the organ notes for this song. Please, it would help me out a lot. Thanks.
A "soft" and however very moving and talented interpretation of this masterpiece of baroque music. Congratulations ! You deserve to play on older/"epoque" intruments as the ones that can be found in Europe.
I'm walking down the aisle to this year in October and I hope that my organist can play it as marvellous as you have. If he does I will be a very happy lady!!!
thank you. I don't go to a composing school or conservatoire. After all, I'm just a hobbyist. But I like to write transcriptions of famous works when I have time.
Thank you. I started with piano lessons when I was about 7 years old. When I was 16 I heard some of Bach's famous organ works, which I of course wanted to play myself, and I took organ lessons. So, until now, I've played the piano for about 17 years and the organ for 8 years.
Am I correct in assuming that the Canon in D typical arrangement for the pipe organ will be about 5-6 minutes long? I have chosen this for my wedding next summer and need to know how to time it to the procession of my wedding party. Thanks! Nice job on this one, by the way. :)
A typical performance of the original Canon in D (or a transcription for organ) played in an easy tempo will indeed take about 5 minutes. But there are also other arrangements and improvisations which can be either somewhat shorter or longer. To be sure you can ask your organist which version he will play. Wish you a nice wedding!
Wow, beautiful arrangement. I love the choices you've made for the different voices.
