I know people who have studied music all their lives, some of whom don't consider old school music their cup of tea. Do they have bad music taste?  No. Better taste doesn't mean, "If you don't like this, you're out." It means that you're selective with and expect more out of your music. I love old school myself, but some people it just doesn't gel with. And they shouldn't be looked down on.
