  • Hey i have an african spurred tortiose, his name is Torti! I live in queens ny..maybe we can meet up so they can interact with each other. That'd be pretty awesome. :)

  • Awwwwwwwwwwww i can't wait until my tortoises Barney and, Shauna are big enough to take for a walk they would love it as they already enjoy supervised walks in the garden. Thank you for posting it was nice to watch

  • Shapiro, go to isra hell

  • WTF you did to him

  • Look at the pyramiding!:(

  • @Mineshack How do you prevent pyramiding?

  • @pimplick Feed it proper diets, give it calcium suppliments, keep it heated, just look after it. Its mainly the calcium and diets it needs with more than just shop bought foods; such as weeds.

  • >speed bump

    Gotta go fast

  • :O 666 videos

  • just because hes eating lettuce in the video doesnt mean thats ALL HE EATS. cmon people, think.

  • I'll treated tortoise :(

  • He has a vitamin deficiency, your not feeding him the right food. Lettuce is one of the worst things you could feed him. Get tortoise food at the pet store please.

  • @martinbuilt

ACTUALLY you're not supposed to feed your tortoise food FROM the PET STORE most of there diet is hays, grasses, clover, and almost anything that is not from a grocery store, but can have a zucchini once in a while, or collard greens, and for a special treat, lettuce, but not as a main diet.

Sorry for being a know-it-all, but I just thought I would tell you.

  • Is it just me, or is he um... "flashing" in that very last image? Also, I am disgusted as well, he's terribly deformed.

  • a turtle? stupid bitch LOL! couldnt you of at least of got ir right fro the camera?

  • 1:21 Airbite.. watch closely:)

  • I'm sorry for this sulcata, he's sick :(( but he's so beautiful though

  • @Lulyy84 how is he sick?

  • @thesba027 You can tell by the visible Pyramiding (irregular growths) on his shell. It is caused by malnutrition and/or lack of sunlight

  • like a boss

  • this tortoise has really bad pyramiding! not been taken care of very well.

  • spilnter?

  • HAIKU

    No! Please! Dont eat me!

    Or—wear my shell as jewelry!

    Please let me swim free.

    —A Green Sea Turtle

  • Speed Bump eats lettuce like a boss.

  • 0:57 hes reading the sign ROFL

  • his head kinda resembles the cloverfield monster

  • hey this is cruel! check out my video to see how to feed and care from the right.

  • @Flamearation wow your stupidity amazes me.

  • Lol the bit when he walked away during the interview made me lol xD

  • i saw him at my street 15 years later

  • @BenMurrie yup see yah later troll

  • pyramiding, my friend, has not been proven to be a result of poor "diet" or poor conditions. i have a spurred sulcatta, which is about this size, if not bigger. he has pyramiding as well, and has regular check-ups with the vet; who happens to be a specialist, and there is nothing wrong with his diet or environment.... on the contrary, he's quite healthy. cheers.

  • @BenMurrie the thing we humans dont is what makes us want to expand, make things great, or why we became civilized

  • @BenMurrie lol humans are apes. Great apes. Haven't you gone through biology?

  • Cute Tortoise but you shoulkd take care of it better... Look at its shell... :(

  • @BenMurrie well ape shares 99 percent of our DNA and show knowledge of using medicine and tools to achieve somthing

  • @BenMurrie in regards to the first statement they are the same in spirit

but the tortoise and red slide turtle which i have, both have a shell, both have claws and the same jaws

plus not all turtle live in the sea some live lakes or even ponds and come out of the water to sunbath and i have witnessed this

  • @BenMurrie cats do use the same tactics while playing like pouncing, stalking it wouldnt be fair to say that they are as identica asl lizard to bird

  • @BenMurrie oh please there the same thing

  • Really bad pyramiding :[

  • @zoosetful the only tortoise that I know of that is supposed to have a shell like that is the Indian star tortoise, sulcatas are NOT supposed to have that type of shell.

  • What is the deal with the turtle dude?

Well this is my killer tortus. It is a military command style trained attack tortus.

    o.0

  • If some retarded hippy was stopping traffic with his 'Speed Bump' in San Diego, I personally would not hesitate to drive right over it.

  • he's a freedom turtoise

  • Their walks must take ages!

  • when your next to a tortoise they actually walk surprisingly quick, I always used to loose mine in the house, the second you take your eye off it, the second it shouts 'FREEDOM' and runs..

  • the shells distortion is caused by the wrong food..

  • i wonder if it bites...

  • yikes... shell looks really bad. Too much pyramiding going on!

  • It must be a bitch for people when he crosses the street.

  • cute vid

  • Robert Shapiro.... Sounds like Robbie Shapiro from Victorious.

  • O that must be the slowest walk evar...

  • You should not feed him so much lettuce it should be used as a treat grow some grass and weeds and feed him that

  • The owner has the same name as robby on victorious!! Hahaha

  • his shell dosent look too healthy. there isnt supposed to be pyramids like that, unless thats what kind of turtle it is.

  • I like the back of them, it is pretty strong.

  • @1:12 baldy got his back turned, AND IM OUTTA HERE WITH THE SPEED OF LIGHTNING!

  • I think this is sweet.

  • I am concerned about him strolling the filthy streets - I lived in manhattan 31 years - and the east village most of them and the streets have some funky stuff. Do you wash him well when you get home? Also you can put mole skin on his feet to protect them from the germs and glass etc. Also, please do follow the advice below about his diet... he is "pyramided" and thats not good. Good he shows vitality and I know you love him, so a better diet & washing him post-stroll will help him survive.

  • @drcfrb stfu and pay attention to yourself

  • That poor thing, its shell is sooo disfigured. I hope it dosent hurt.

  • OMG This is awesome!!! I have a very friendly red eared slider that I take out for walks in NYC too!! He loves it! Thanks for uploading. Speed bump is very gorgeous.

  • OMFG that's soooo cute!!!!!

  • oh i thought a man was gonna walk like a tortoise

  • asians might eat it........

  • speed bump is officially a BADASS

  • What should they eat instead so I know? :_

  • @godgrant123 anything thats high in calcium, and has little to no protien and phosphorus

  • wow that tortoise is NOT healthy at all!

  • for one that guy is an attention whore, walking a tortoise in the east village? Gay? and for two he has no idea how to take care of a tortoise look at that shell yikes!!! someone needs to call the aspca

  • @old16tattoo That is the actual shape of a spurred turtles shell O_O. At an aquarium I saw one with a different bump design on its shell like Speed Bump. And this aquarium has to keep the animals healthy.

  • @Flamearation sorry partner but some of the most unhealthy animals live at aquariums and zoos i own a large sulcata and no healthy tortoises shell should ever look like this

  • @old16tattoo Yeah well this aquarium has healthy animals. Not unhealthy. I don't mean just by the looks but they make sure these animals are healthy. Do you own a spurred turtle? Their shells look like that sometimes? That turtle is healthy. I dont own a sulcata but their shells look like SPURRS.

  • @Flamearation the proper terminology is Geochelone sulcata and they are not turtles they are a land dwelling tortoise and yes i do own an african spurred tortoise but the common name is sulcata sorry to confuse you but thanks for your input anyway if you want to see what a healthy sulcata looks like google the words healthy sulcata then just for comparison look up unhealthy sulcata

  • Oh, sure. Animal cops are always so quick to rescue an abused dog or cat (which is perfectly fine), but when there's a neglected tortoise, no one cares.

  • 1:17 "Yes hes distracted, FREEDOM!"

  • 0:44

    Haters gonna hate

  • That tortoise has some serious MBD

  • you can tell hes unhealthy from the cone shapes on his shell

  • anything is possible in NYC, he's super cool

  • lol

  • I like Turtels :D

  • @Jubbu1 How do you feel about Tortoises?

  • Lettuce is what you feed him? I would understand that if it was only once or twice a month, and for a snack, but by his pyramiding, that is the idea you're giving me. for Speed Bump's sake put him on a nutritous diet As Soon As Posible.

  • 0:30 its a tortoise lol

  • Thats bad ass!

  • What's the difference between an Turtle and an Tortoise??

  • @adde123ranks turtles stay small cage friendly! tortoise grow big and not cage friendly more house friendly fr that matter haha

  • @AnimationBooks Okey ty :D

  • @adde123ranks The Biggest Turtles are the Snappers & Asian, Nile, Florida Softshell. Also the Sea the leather back is the largest turtle in the sea. Tortoises comes to medium to Giants of the Galapagos

  • hehe at the end

  • hey that cool and cute!

  • This ignorant man disgusts me. This poor sulcata tortoise has terrible pyramiding. Why the hell is pet rescue to quick to help an unhealthy dog or cat, but no one really gives a shit about the poor tortoise?

  • @555KnotFan666 shut up hippie. the tortoise loves it!

  • @AussieHoosier Hippie? You're such a dumbass.

Tortoises don't feel emotions you idiot. A tortoise can't love or hate anything. Take you're stupid coments somewhere else.

  • Comment removed

  • @555KnotFan666 How do u know he doesnt have 'feelings', how do u know he doesn't love walking everyday experiencing the senses out there? if it were that bad he wouldn't be moving or walking EVERY DAY.

I love how you weirdos compare a tortoise to a concentration camp prisoner.

This tortoise being out on the streets brings alot more awareness to the general wellbeing of tortoises than hippies like you who scream/cry and overreact whenever an animal isn't being treated like a royal family member.

  • @AussieHoosier Because the tortoise's mind is too simple to feel emotions. You obviously don't know anything about the tortoise's body. Its shell's condition is really bad. What happens is if the tortoise doesn't get the proper amounts of calcium, its shell weakens & does something called pyramiding. Have you ever even seen a healthy sulcata tortoise shell? This tort eats its food off of a NYC sidewalk. Would you do that? It shouldn't be treated like royalty, but just be treated right.

  • @555KnotFan666 You might have a point about eating off the New York sidewalk, but for all you know he may be a rescue tortoise of sorts, where the owner bought him with his shell already this way.

And I think you're elevating the concept "emotions" too high. Emotions are just what humans call their animal insticts, strong commanding feelings that goad them into action or out of action. I'm sure the tortoise walks because it feels pleasurable in the same way eating does.

  • @DietSoap3 Well, that's true. I didn't really think of that. I just hate to see tortoises or any other animal like that.

    P. S. I can't help but ask what DietSoap means.

  • @555KnotFan666 he saved it from the middle of the road, shut up....

  • @camsONline110 And I saved an Aldabra tortoise from my local zoo. That doesn't make it okay for me to feed it off of a side walk.

  • 01:09 RUN AWAY! THIS IS TORTURE!!

  • -Oh man look at my tortoise!

-Yeah it's pretty good ... oohhhh there is no tortoise !

-What the fuck you say ? Fuck! Where is my tortoise ?

    - I dont know ;]

  • haha

  • Extremely severe metabolic bone disease very evident with the carapace there. Bad choice of food, lettuce isn't nutritional enough for Spur Thighed Tortoises, he's also prepared & presented it wrong. Shouldn't take it out where it can pick up diseases & finally, it's a TORTOISE, not a bloody TURTLE!

  • his name is robert shapiro like the guy on victorious!

  • nice video really cool i have a yellow footed tortoise. i let him out in the front yard to roam and explore. ill have to start taking him for walks around the neighborhood.

  • Robert's tortoise has severe MBD/Pyramiding... poor baby.

  • :S the poor guys shell

  • wtf fuck are you looking at ? xD

  • Adorable, but New York is no place for a tortoise in the winter, especially when it gets too big to fit in your house. Also, learn to take care of his shell because it looks like shit.

  • hahahah so cute, 1:16 the tortoise trys to run for it

  • hay my grandmas on tv.

  • Hell I love that shell.

  • Oh my, his shell looks awful!! :( Poor Speedbump.

  • really really bad pyramiding there get it seen to

  • I want a tortoise

  • is its shell meant to be like that or is it sdue to pyramiding?

  • that shel look really bad

  • Robert his shell is not supposed to look like that..... please read up on proper nutrition and the need for sunlight (not through glass)..... This can be improved.

  • lol 0:46 so long suckers

  • @MrGaMer4111 hahaha lol

  • This tortoise has been allowed to eat too much of the wrong food it's whole life.

  • @zippeee

    what do u mean?

  • TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!

in this case WALKING ATTENTION TORTOISE :D!! :]

  • the tortoise is in reallly reallly bad shape.....

  • NYC is no place for a tortoise like that. The pyramiding is so bad, I've never seen it like that. That tortoise needs to be rescued!!!!!!!!!!

  • pretty nippy for a tortoise

  • speed bump yeah

  • best part 0:23

  • Holy crap I've never seen pyramiding that bad...

  • loved the name :)

  • I sure hope that the turtle's shell was Pyramiding before he got it and that he's now giving it a better home. If not, you sir, should not be owning a tortoise.

  • show off! the polluted streets of new york are no place for a tortoise, the tortoise has a bad shell, he needs to take it to a vet and stop walking it on the streets

  • very cute

  • Most awesome shell ever.

  • @Treekodar Thats not a awesome shell. His shell is deformed due to lack of UVB or Calcium. It's suppose to be flat all around and not be pointy.

  • @BaseballCardFreek Still looks awesome.

  • @Treekodar true but that can kill him if not treated.

  • hahaha at 1:10

"Ooh! Now's my chance! he's not looking!!" hahaha

  • i feel so bad for that tortoise look at its shell that is very unhealthy

  • 0:53

"What? is this some kind of joke?"

  • aww he so cute :D

  • my tortise looks like that ............ it died yester day ;(

  • @gwen246810 uahhh sorry to hear that :(

  • Never had prt any tortoise...looks fun to have it as your accompany. Turtles are also cute.

  • Never had prt any tortoise...looks fun to have it as your accompany. Turtles are also cute.

  • the tortoise has bumps on tis shell cuase ate to many fruit and on bottom i know its maleit has trunk means its male

  • Please be sure SpeedBump gets his Calcium and more than lettuce. Sulcatas eat zucchini, kale, collards, carrots and love Mazuri Tortoise Chow. Please give him proper lighting.... his shell indicates he is quite ill with metabolic bone disease. This affects his organs esp kidneys. He may be cute but he is not being helped by walking on those filthy streets. They eat hay and grass too. Do your research please. And no dogs!

  • that tortoise is bad ass

  • my teachers wife has two of these -.- he let them run around the class today :( it tried eating my shoee.

  • hey is the temp 64 degrees in the morning and plus you feed him wrong u r suppose to dry grass get it from stores man no wonder his shell isnt perfect

  • YEAH, BAD PYRAMIDING

  • Love the name!! i used to take my rabbit for a walk :) with a leash :)

  • I want a tortoise, they are so baller.

  • It's called speed bump cos it's been hit by a car and this guy rescued it it also looks about 8 years old I know it looks in terrible condition but this guy RESCUED it it was this way when he got it! Geez think before you type

  • @1994FishFreak Erm did you watch the video?

  • Oh god thar poor tortoise (not a turtle) it is in such bad shape look at the pyramiding on that shell.

  • @Blinx56 as long as hes happy i dont think he cares

  • Speed Bump needs to be eating grass. Mine prefers Bermuda. Lettace is bad for a tortoise. They can not digest it very well and no nutritional value. Grasses, and maybe a little kale, greens (mustard, collard, turnip) is ok. Mine also likes zuchinni squash and my second one - also named Speed Bump likes mangos once in a while.

  • Comment removed

  • Is that a cat in a hat?

  • my friend has a Spurred named Speed Bump!

  • Hey u never know it could be rescued

  • This is pretty sad. This tortoise is in terrible physical condtion.

It is too dirty (New York Streets) to "walk" him outside. He gets a lot to eat, just not the right food.

  • .this shell is caused by A diet which contains animal proteins (many tortoises are vegetarian animals, and eat NO meat whatsoever.)

.... A diet which contains a high percentage of vegetable proteins, even for vegetarian tortoises.

  • ....Not enough calcium in the diet. Calcium is very important for proper growth! .... Little or no exposure to natural sunlight. Tortoises kept indoors are much more prone.

.... Inadequate intake of Vitamin D3 in the diet and/or too much Phosphorus.

.. Intake of grocery produce which contains too much moisture, has little vitamin content and not nearly enough fiber

  • yeah this tortoise has a severely deformed shell. its not because its old. Its lack of UV rays and a poor diet. also you shouldnt be bringing this tortoise for walks unless its atleast 65 degrees.

  • i think it lacks calcium. you can tell because of its piramid shell. sulcattas should be like that. they should be smooth.

  • 0:29 - NO! It IS everyday! At 5pm!

  • 1:05-1:16 is hilarious :D

  • haistavittu87 deformed?WTF are you talking about?its not deformed idiot!

  • My tortoise has an amazingly tight vagina and she isn't too resistive to penetration.

  • I hope you rescued that tortoise, otherwise you need to give it up because it has some severe pyramiding and MBD.

  • @KieshaJ55 im pretty sure its shell is suppost to look like that. if not, its just really old.

  • @coolio3163: you obviously dont know what youre talking about. its shell is NOT supposed to look like that. it lacks calcium. its shell is what you call a pyramid shell, which is when a tort lacks calcium, it starts to get bumps & deforms a lot. though some torts are meant to have bumps. just not that sever...
