Great review. Neverdead is the definitive archetype of wasted potential. The decent third-person action is generally fun -- slicing your sword into enemies acts as an ironic outlet of vengeance -- but the story is an incoherent mess, the dialogue is poetic puke and typically trash, and the controls are somewhat clunky. The nail in the coffin is the dismemberment mechanic, which is a cool idea, but really becomes a pain in the ass far too quickly as the gameplay descends into tedium.

It looks pretty, but the combat was REALLY shallow, the slow mo/zoom in effect got REALLY dull REALLY fast, and the story, even though it was a copy of "Journey to the West" with robots, wasn't all that impressive. It's a boring game from an average developer.

I really don't care what the enemies are called. It makes no difference to me and I'm sure nobody else. Nobodies going to be put off a game because enemy groups have unimaginative names. 'Puppies' isn't exactly a bland name for an enemy. It's not creative, but it's nothing worth moaning about either.
@aidenmccloskey You know when you're in a relationship and you're in a fight and the slightest thing that somebody does that can be considered annoying sets you off? It's kinda like that. When I wasn't enjoying very much about the game, those details just added to it.
