ok Kubuntu 4.3.3 vs Windows 7. they look similar & they act similar. Windows might be better for running ya proprietary software (ie, the sh*t you pay for), but Linux has substitutes & many work just as well. so yeh... go buy something you can get for free. we'll save up for more productive causes. the funny thing is, drivers configure& install on kubuntu easy without worries like win7. also win7 crashes all the time.. i'm dual booting both, but if linux supported my games& iPhone iTunes updates

and yeh.. it only doesn't support them cause the companies only design stuff for the biggest markets (obviously they want the cash), but when enough people start flocking to linux cause it keeps getting better, companies will make their software for linux as well.

Not all distros are non commercial, you can certainly buy linux, redhat enterprise Suse non free etc. The concept that linux is all about free as in no money is a noob one at that, it's free as in choice not free as in beer.
