  • re: description - it's provape.com not provapes

  • @robdahlgren0506 @steeljan Actually, I prefer the Darwin. Mine see far more use than the Provari. I was actually trying to point out that I find some of those "safety" features to be limiting. While IMR batteries are unprotected, they are considered a 'safer' chemistry. I still don't like stacking, if I don't have to, protected, unprotected or IMR. To increase the voltage off the battery, they require the high drain variety.

  • Nice review but a little lopsided to the Provari. Remember, with the Provari, you are removing and recharging IMR and storing IMR batteries which have a very high instantaneous current and absolutely no protection. If you short them out, they will burn up quickly. The Darwin's self-contained battery that also does vape & charge means you never have to handle dangerous lithium batteries.

  • These were good reviews, but pumping up the Provari based on safety features isn't entirely fair. The Darwin does have most of the same safety features as the Provari, the difference is that the Darwin uses internal batteries. These batteries can safely produce more power. So yes, you can set a LR carto really high safely. You might pop the carto, but the battery won't catch fire! The Provari needs to limit the current draw because of the battery! I agree though, both great devices!

  • where these came from? go back to ego looks!

  • Thanks, good overviews of both products.

Why does no one doing reviews show that the Darwin arm can be used in nearly 180 degrees of variable positions? In essence, you can put the arm at say 90 degrees and lay it flat on its back when not in use. It's a great tank platform when set that way.

The ability to adjust the arm angle also allows you to customize how you hold the PV, and which finger(s) you use to fire the button.

  • @Credo1970 Good point. I don't mention it directly, i guess I just kind of assumed from the seeing the motion that the variable positions is a given. It does work well sitting with a tank that way, i just prefer the on tubes, and not on the darwins where they keep me from turning the units off. I'm just OCD that way. :)

  • The music is very distracting to your low voice level, need to turn it down or off.I had to quit listening.

  • I'm sure that you understand Ohm's law and simply made a little slip, but for the benefit of whoever is watching the video, if your atty/carto is firing at 2.9 ohms instead of 3.1 ohms, you will want to decrease the voltage to maintain the same amperage, not increase it. Remember, Ohm's law is:

    Voltage (Volt) = Current (Ampere) x Resistance (Ohm) or V = I x R

I absolutely love your reviews and this one especially. I hope you keep making these videos.

    Happy vaping!

  • The main thing is that you can't close darwin with anything bigger then atty or cart :)

  • Nice review, am thinking of the Provari after using Ego-T and Riva style cigs for ages.

Do you work for NASA or just a fan?

    Cheers

  • @GalaxyHorse Not for them directly, no :)

  • great review, Darwin shipped ;-)

  • @emonty999 I keep getting blamed for people spending money!

  • Very Nice Review. Just like to add that you can use the Darwin as a True Pass-Through. This is the main reason I bought this PV, I never have to carry any extra battery's with me again. The battery lasts me 14 to 16 hours, then I could just plug in the usb cable, and vape while its charging if need too.

Vape On, Smokie the Mod Father

  • @step07726 Thanks Smokie! :) But when I see the term 'true pass though' i believe it means the unit is pulling its power from the usb to activate. I don't think that is true in the case of the darwin. I think it is still activating off of the battery, while the battery is charging from the USB. I could be wrong, electronics are not my area.

You are correct in that you can charge it while you continue to use it, which is a great advantage I should have mentioned with greater emphasis!

  • @GeekGirlVaper If your Darwin battery is totally dead when you plug it in with the usb cable pass-through wait 5 miniutes the Darwin will vape again while the battery is charging, the bat does need just a little charge to work the pass-through, so you might be correct in a sense, but others like the eGo pass-through you have to wait a long time before vaping again. I was told it was a True Pass-Through from Redrockhiker who was a beta tester of the Darwin.

  • Love your reviews, I just wish the background music was not so loud. It detracts from your voice. Keep up the good work. It's wonderful to see an intelligent woman reviewing e-cigg products.

  • what tank unit did you show at 3:29?

  • @95nginerd Watch her rebuild able atomizer vids.

  • @eedwards74 The Ato-miser ;-) Thanks.

  • Great comparison!
