Here's the thing, I'm glad they chose old blues music for this part of the movie, but I think that Robert Johnson's Me & the Devil blues would've been better & I'll tell you why; in this movie they gave "Skip James' Devil got my woman" a mystical sort of thing & there is literally a TON of Bluse Music Mystery & Folklore surrounding pretty much everything Robert Johnson Did...& that includes him dying...

I always figured it was called 'Ghost World' because it builds on the concept that nothing much really happens in the film. The majority of the people who cast in it are just products of the consumer culture; mirrors to the misinformation they're fed all day. It's easy to see people of so little substance as ghosts.

I guess what I'm saying is ghost world basically means 'a world full of people of no worth'. It fits the story's setting well enough.

And see it, if you haven't already, people!

that's what I thought too before I watched it. But I remember Enid telling why it was called ghost world in the end. She didn't say it so bluntly as to say "the movie is called this because.." but she said that The place she lives is a ghost world because everywhere she goes, she sees a ton of buildings and businesses that are trying to revert back to the 50s and 60s, like the "fake fifties diners" and all that. A ghost world in what should be modern.
