I completely agree because in 6th grade there was this teacher that would call me up and said that I needed to do better when I was making a B.she never called up any of the ones that were making D's and F's. And the reason why is because she thought I was a handful with my medical condition called epilepsy. I would pass out every other week when it started and before that I was one of her favorites but after my first seizure she didn't want to have anything to do with me

Plus, for what I want to be/do (film director and have my own photography business), I learned that I only have to go to those schools where they teach only the arts you are interested in, and no bull sh** "general studies" classes, which is just AWESOME!!!! :D

I hate how the school system tries to turn students into robots. Everyone hates my friends because they're different. Right now I have one friend that gets picked on by at least 50% of the students in one of our classes. I had horrible math teachers in elementary school and my mom used to make me do math workbooks at home. Our family moved around so much that my skills in math were so messed up. well i dont think your right on this one chris (unfortunately) but, individualism is something that is not prevalent in school in todays society, but thats not really a problem, you just have to push through with who you are. as for the education, i mean what can you do without school? say someone wanted to be a doctor and help the world, how would they even go about to that? they obviously need schooling.
i remember one or two teachers in my high school take an interest me.
the first two years of my high school year i had the same issue as you not beause i was bi, gay, whatever. but because of the way i dressed and i was openly an artist. the kids hated me, the teachers, and the principals of all people! i was sexually abused, harassed, etc. it was so bad that i had severe anxiety issues and stuff, and still do to this day. i had to change schools it was so bad.
What you learn from your parents and in school is old fashioned. The new way to make a living is to follow your heart, follow your dreams. Everyone has dreams but only a few make it a reality.

I'm an artist and i did well in school. My teachers liked me. And now i am following my dream of working in art. I liked going to school and learning new things. There were only a few teachers that i really didn't like.

The school system does really need to encourage individuals because then people would not feel so guilty if they were not good at math maybe. I feel this constant guilt that I am not putting my brain to use if I am not trying to do math. Anyway do you think this is because of the the structure of the school systems?

the class was behind a year in the mathematics level .... and so i coasted along while everyone was behind me. I had horrible math teachers in elementary school and my mom used to make me do math workbooks at home. Our family moved around so much that my skills in math were so messed up. Anyway I feel like I finally realize what happened and I can be honest with myseld and honestly say, "This is what went wrong". And it's not like im coming down on myself i am just pointing it out fairly

I am left handed, so I am right brained (creative side you know that) and I was good with math when I was little because I noticed competition in my elementary school classes. And as a reference, I could ask any person I know who ignored the education system, thinking they could get by on their "God-given" insight and passion, and they'd immediately back me. EVERY person I know who chose to quit school and go their own way, has major regrets about their decision, and most of them wish they could go back and do things differently.
Aim for happiness. Just try to make the right decisions, and don't let your heart lead you astray.

But I don't think it's morally advisable to pass your biased views off as "wisdom" to the younger people. Being a dreamer and a visionary should not be equated with being an airhead and a dropout; success usually goes hand in hand with education and the skills you learn while in school.

well i dont think your right on this one chris (unfortunately) but, individualism is something that is not prevalent in school in todays society, but thats not really a problem, you just have to push through with who you are. as for the education, i mean what can you do without school? say someone wanted to be a doctor and help the world, how would they even go about to that? they obviously need schooling.

i remember one or two teachers in my high school take an interest me.
the first two years of my high school year i had the same issue as you not beause i was bi, gay, whatever. but because of the way i dressed and i was openly an artist. the kids hated me, the teachers, and the principals of all people! i was sexually abused, harassed, etc. it was so bad that i had severe anxiety issues and stuff, and still do to this day. i had to change schools it was so bad.

The school I went to was primarily black and lumbee(A made of kind of indian),and here comes this skinny little white girl from Norway.
(at the time)I was really pale(still am)and had super long black hair.
My teachers would call me names like "child of the corn", "the girl from the Ring", etc. And the students were even worse.
I was made to believe that I was hideous,but now I know I'm a gorgeous person :)
