  • I have never seen these shows before this minute.

    AMAZING!

  • i'm looking for an episode where cecil's nostril fell off. since it was live, they just had to roll with it. i remember it as very funny! does anyone know of this episode? i saw it long, long ago.

  • Funny thing,- Albert Einstein loved this show. So much so that he once left a meeting saying only "Excuse me gentlemen, but it's Time For Beany".

  • I still say "Thethil the thethick thethurpant" some times. I was 5 when I watched this!! Thanks for posting it.

  • what was the obsession with savages and racial stereotypes???

  • @araless Bob Clampett was one of WB's most anarchic (and influential) directors. He directed some amazing Looney Tunes, but he was also of the Tex Avery school, which meant he'd drop racist science whenever he couldn't think of anything better to do. Watch Clampett's infamous "Coal Black and De Sebben Dwarves" and you'll see what I mean. A reflection of an era, to be sure, but some people rejected their programming. Clampett did not.

  • My Pop watched this as a kid and he still makes the Captain Huffnpuff scared sound, "heeee" (1:59/2:12/2:50/7:37/7:48/8:10) when he is pretending to be scared (my whole family does it now!), but he also swears that *Cecil* went "hoo hoo hoo" when he gets scared. I have not heard this in any of the 10 Beany & Cecil cartoons, nor in the 3 Time for Beany episodes here. He swears that Cecil did hoo hoo hoo and all the kids went "heeeee hoo hoo hoo." Can anyone verify this? (LOL- GET A LIFE, RIGHT?)

  • @gatogreensleeves I don't think you need to "get a life"...I think it's sweet that you want to remember something your dad used to say. Sorry,I don't remember the "hoo hoo hoo",but it doe's sound right to me.

  • @4MaryAnna He still does it- we all do! He's not good w/ computers and asked me to find an episode where they did that, but I couldn't find it. Now we're all obsessed with finding the "hoo hoo hoo." He swears that Cecil would do that after Huffnpuff's "heeee." I'll tell him that you remember that that seems to be true and that will make him happy!! :-)

  • @gatogreensleeves I thought about your post today, while I was watching an old episode of "Car 54 where are you" One of the cops keeps saying"hoo hoo hoo". So maybe if you can't find that on "Beany & Cecil",you might want to check with your dad to see if he used to watch that show too. Who knows, maybe it was on before or right after B&C. Good luck with your search. :)

  • @4MaryAnna Thanks for the suggestion 4MaryAnna!

  • Gotta see the Beany & Cecil DVD. it's a collection of the cartoons but they have Time for Beany eps on it, too. And Stan Freberg talks for about 40 minutes about the show, and it's excellent! He tells the fat bat story.

  • Sounds to me like this was after Daws Butler and Stan Freberg left the show. I think that's Jimmy MacGeorge and Walter Edminson.

  • Cecil has toes?

  • thanks so much for uploading this!

  • I believe that Albert Instein called this one of his favorite programs.Yeah I spelled his name wrong, to tired to care at nearly 3 am.

  • It was Harpo Marx's favourite programme too XD

  • One story that Clampett telated to his audience at the comic con, 30 years ago, was how he got so sick and tired of the censers cutting his bits out of his toons, that he did one SO outragous, that he was sure it would be cut, but wasn't, with the dog dragging its ass all over the floor, and then saying" I got to stop this, Im beginning to like it"The flea minning porkys dog toon, I believe. His stuff was filled with stuff, far over the head of most kids.

  • Two famous cartoon "voices" are working those puppets. Cecil is Stan Freberg while Beanie is Daws Butler. I used to watch these shows live when I was a little guy centuries ago.

  • I loved Tear-a Long the dotted lion, and his friend No-Teeth Keith. The Knock-Knock Bird that laid square eggs, and who could forget Cecil's Grand Pa. We were little kids and enjoyed it, my mom would sit down and laugh. Great times!

  • Those different places Uncle Captain took Beany Boy and Cecil.I remember the Bermuda Shores, the Chimpan Sea,the Lili-PU-tian Islands-and who doesn't remember No Bikini Atoll?

On land they would cross Prarie Mason(where the law ends)and see mountains like the Mad Horn and the Madder Horn-or the mesa called the Mad Hatter Horn.

The more I saw the old Beany and Cecil cartoons the more I realized how many puns were being used.

  • Do my ears deceive me, or at 6:43 does Beany really say "You Always F*ck Me Up, Cec"?

  • Sounds like it, but it must be "buck".

    ~U

  • creepy.....
