But when you are a barritone, you should be able to push yourself and your voice longer and higher, - so that you overcome your tone. In this case, Buble is barritone, but so is Gavin Degraw. Ray Charles, Leon Russell, Joe Cocker, and a host of others have tackled this piece, but after hearing them, and hearing Gavin, I do believe Gavin supercedes all the rest that I have heard thus far when it comes to this one song. That is saying alot, when Ray Charles is put into the equation. By the way, I just found this guy tonight on youtube. Never heard of him before in my life. So far, to me, this is the best song that he performs. I could not find it on Itunes to purchase though.

Gavin is phenomenal on this song, and every song he sings. This is because he's genuine, and puts 150% into his music. He isn't phony! He takes each song on a journey. Gavin isn't a cookie cutter performer. He isn't out to sound exactly like the original. He takes each song and puts his whole heart into it--doing it justice. A beautiful human being and talented musician. He is who he is, nothing more or less. He's raw, and that is what makes him Gavin. Unique at it's finest!

Gavin is a great singer, but can sound very raw at times. He is so passionate in every performance l have ever seen. An amazing song writer that has been heavily influenced by the great soul/RnB singers of the 60's, 70's & 80's.

He's a very talented singer, composer, songwriter and piano-player though, which is a rare combination. Many people call him 'underrated', because he isn't as popular as some singers who are considered less talented by these people. That was excellent. But I have to say...I really wish someone would sing this the way Leon Russell did originally. And Gavin has the right voice for it. Not taking anything away from Donny Hathaway, but everyone seems to want to do his version. I think he's the one that sang it as "song to you" instead of "song for you", and it kinda bugs me. Still great though. I really enjoyed this.

@gorgeouschelsi I agree. He has a beautiful voice and he's gorgeous. His songwriting capability is phenomenal and he does not have even ONE bad song. Plus - his video blogs make him seem like a really truly great person. Great personality. Great laugh.

That was excellent. But I have to say...I really wish someone would sing this the way Leon Russell did originally. And Gavin has the right voice for it. Not taking anything away from Donny Hathaway, but everyone seems to want to do his version. I think he's the one that sang it as "song to you" instead of "song for you", and it kinda bugs me. Still great though. I really enjoyed this.
