  • what a frickin dunk. style. STYLE. STYYYLE!

  • Dean Smith didn't see this dunk live. They had a 10 point lead with less than 10 seconds left, and he wasn't paying attention to the game. After the game MJ asked him if the dunk was a little much, to which his response was 'What dunk?'

  • its not about who has better stats *looking at Lebron*...its about how you earn them...Jordan earned his through awesome athleticism and a style that many young brothas try to play by

  • So basically he's been doing this since he was boy. SMH.

  • lights off, game over

  • i think my #2 key is broken.

  • You cant compare anyone to him

  • I love how the commentator says "I guess this is a pretty fitting end to the ball game!" and then MJ is killing it!

  • If you look really closely in the corner, you can see Lebron travelling in the womb

  • oh my goodness!!!!

  • Had bronchitis, missed 3 days of school. The positive?, this game occured that week LOL

  • Sime23 this vid is the *, that's why I love NBA even though it has its issues. I'm following this training program that's used even by NBA players - "50-inch-vertical[dot]com" - already I'm jumping better and dominating on the court!

  • The back-story on this dunk is that the Maryland bench had been woofing at MJ earlier in the game, so when he got that opportunity to put an exclamation point on a double-digit win he added a little sumpin'-sumpin' to it. BTW Dean Smith privately expressed displeasure to Jordan about the showboating aspect of the play, though the coach called Jordan's play that night (and Perkins's) "special".

  • People: CHARGE!!!

  • And he jumped from OUTSIDE the paint. Unbelievable.

  • greatest dunk of all time...

  • RIP Len Bias. You would have been one of the best ever.

  • LOOK AT THAT!!!! HAHA

  • rock the baby.

  • The above description is wrong. That Len Bias shot blocked by Perkins was not a potential game winner. This game was over long before that play. UNC won 74-62.

  • @notverycrucial you are right. I dont know why i wrote that. I`ll correct it.

  • Jordan > Superman

  • That was BEAUTIFUL!

  • Tar Heel style, baby - "good night" dunk and the whole coach/squad/staff run-off (0:11) leaving Terps dazed and confused...

  • after the dunk michael jordan birthed paparazzi

  • HOLY COW! Lol

  • greatest ever

  • how the hell was Jordan #3 pick!?!?!?!??

  • @nemke1990 Well Houston needed a center so picking Olajuwan is understandable, and he won 2 championships for them. But the Bucks picking Sam Bowie is one of the biggest wtf moves ever.

  • @mS28811 Wasn't it the Blazers who picked Bowie?

  • @MrGerakis100 Lol, you're absolutely right my mistake, don't even have to look it up, I don't know why I said the bucks.

  • Did you see where he took off from? To do that cradle from that distance is amazing.

  • : 0

  • Look at the reacytion, the is the best player ever

  • NOBODY DOES IT LIKE MIKE! ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE.!

    KABOOOOM!!

  • in 1984 in college...who thought that dunk was coming that was sick, they'd never seen that before on any level

  • @gbm420 and never saw it again

  • THATS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE DUNKS!

  • i love tha white boy on tha sidelines with tha powder blue briefcase...he gets so hype lmao!!!!

  • Can't be * : O

  • LOOK AT THAT! Hahahahahaha!

  • UNBELIEVABLE! He completely rocked the cradle on that dunk, and with one hand.

  • Rock the baby

  • MJs speed is rediculous. The distance from the hoop he jumps from is rediculous. The dunk is rediculous. I miss MJ. Greatest ever.

  • I dont understand why we dont see more people doing this dunk in a game in the NBA.. I know its not the easiest but its been done in the past by other dunk contest dunkers.. I think its a thing of beauty! nobody did it like MJ though.

  • Commentator : "Look at that!"

    Translation : "What the fuck!!"

  • @uberathlete Hahahahaha! Great translation!

  • jizzed..in my pants....

  • oh my gosh tht s the len bias the mike jordan before mike jordan right he died becuase of a drug overdose ithe fact is he never really dedicated his life to the game like mike so he wouldn't of been better thn mike in his life if it wern't drugs it might of been women just feel like tht very trait would of stopped him form being great

  • Fuck me dead that was unreal

  • MJ foreshadowing.

  • Did that one guy fall?

  • Incredible, incredible athleticism...he glides the length of the court in a matter of seconds and then throws down a dunk contest grade slam at the end of a very physical athlete, demonstrating incredible conditioning. WHAT AN ATHLETE.

  • The commenter was right, this is in a highlight film lol

  • Like Secretariat. Unique

  • 4 dribbles 10-11 steps to go from abit b4 the other teams top of the key to putting the ball through the hoop. Everyone rants about Lebron's open floor speed which is also impressive, but this is an early MJ dunk and IMO not at his greatest physical potential yet. That came in 86-87 IMO. No player had the open floor speed combined with the explosive first step of MJ. Forget about the leaping ability and able to adjust in mid air body control. The standard is so high all who follow r boring now

  • then runs right off the court in stride and style. Perfect

  • lmao that white guy fell he kept himself balanced for a while though lol

  • wow mj defied the whole book of gravity

  • RIP Len Bias.

  • this is surprisingly good quality

  • "look at that !!!??" lol commentator didnt even know what to call or say to that "highlight reel move"

  • Imo, nobody will ever rock the cradle better than Michael did. Bias vs Jordan, woulda changed the NBA if it had ever happened at the next level.

  • i keep looking back on Len Bias or Jordan college videos and just dreamed of what the NBA would have been like with the both of them....just simply amazing

  • jordan LOOK at that!

  • commentators didnt even know what to say or call that "move"that was sick

  • Jordan, best one handed windmill ever, ever, ever, ever! IMO

  • Classic.

  • lol that white guy fell down at halfcourt

  • On purpose. He knew he'd be on a poster gobbling a nutsack if he kept running.

  • LMFAO!!!

  • rockin' tha cradle

  • Can u say splash?

  • jordan è un grande! il mito di sempre!! super slaaammmmmmm duuuuuunk!

altro che quelle checche che vanno adesso al college e spernacchiano in aria!!! prrrrr!!!

  • MJ's classic sickness around the rim.

  • Fucking cheesy announcers didnt do the commentating any justice.

  • damn , the risk he took to do a dunk with that high grade of difficultly in the last second. thats incredible . what a great dunk.

  • thats how you rock the cradle.

  • You know it's a good dunk when the opponent's crowd is cheering!

  • Mona Lisa Dunk

  • couldnt have said it any better

  • Look at where he takes off from... OMG!!!!

  • Didn't read the whole discription. Wondered why they were wearing blue.

  • because his playing in North Carolina, btw this was taped when he was in college

  • I KNOW.

  • he didnt carry the ball pilipinomazter,

  • Awesome!

    That dunk never gets old.

    Thought it was called Rock-a-Baby.

  • It was called the Mona Lisa

  • LOOK AT THAT!!!

  • I cant see how someone can watch basketball and hate on michael jordan...unless they are georgetown fans or duke fans, otherwise he is basketball

  • u know it, only 1MJ

  • u know theres only 1 Len b ias

  • No, there WAS only one Len Bias.

  • he died 4rm drug od

  • naw legends dont die bruh

  • my friend does, but hes a fake fan..

he hates on ppl just to get attention

    get this..

he lives in indiana and hates larry bird

  • i hate duke

  • cus len bias would of iced the cake 2 if he wanted

  • what do you call this dunk its not breakaway i think since he carry the ball

  • And whatever team you are a fan of then apparenly they throw batteries. Yea, there is so much class in that. God, can you get any dumber?

  • Where did i say i'm a fan of a team that throws batteries ? Reading comprehension, look into it ! Here's what i said. Jordan and his team ran off the court for fear of getting hit with a battery. Why ? Because he successfully and knowingly showed up another team on their court. Seriously, do you just glance through the words without thinking about what they mean ?

  • I used reading comprehension to determine that you think fans should throw batteries. In turn it shows that the fans (you) of the team you root for throws batteries. Otherwise, why would you even mention it? Apparently we have a Jordan hater on our hands because I can't think of another reason why you would open your retarded mouth. Or type such idiotic words...whatever you want to say. You aren't a fan of NC State, so your input of this matter means nothing. Therefore, you should shut up.

  • up side his head? You are talking about class and you suggest that your fans would throw a battery at someone? How stupid are you? It's 2 points. It's not like we kept scoring and scoring as a total insult. Quite down and don't act like NC State has never scored on a team when they were up by quite a bit.

  • where the fuck are you getting the hint that i'm a nc state fan ? fucking retard. how stupid am i ? smart enough not to spell quiet quite, and use country shit like "quite a bit" ! get off the computer and go clean the outhouse for ma and pa.

Up by 10, games over, hauling ass down court for a useless dunk before time runs out in an opposing teams gym ? why would he do that ?

  • That was obviously a typo and if you aren't smart enough to realize that then I rest my case. Quite a bit is country? Ok and being country means you aren't smart. That shows just how stupid you really are. I believe this conversation is over because you clearly know nothing, but I will go ahead and say this. Why wouldn't he? Is there any reason not to? If your players weren't good enough to stop him from doing that then they are the ones that you should be mad at. Dumbass.

  • How is saying "quite a bit" a country thing? I'm from Chicago and I say it. You're an asshole. And so what if he showed the other team up? You're a loser to get all worked up about it 25 years after the fact

  • whoa, you said chicago streets are dirty, that really hurts my feelings there guy. nice comeback. anyway, my point was about your idiotic statement that "quite a bit" is a country thing to say.

  • This was easily one of the greatest dunks in a game of Jordan's career -- NBA or college. I grew up a Carolina fan and watched that game live. I was in ninth grade at the time and had never seen anything like it. Watched every news show that I could over the course of the next day hoping to see the highlight again and again.

  • Go Heels!!

  • what is goat?

  • Greatest of all time

  • ohh that makes a lot of sense now

  • he is so fast

  • what's with people including kobe in their comments

kobe is a great player but why bother mentioning his name here..even to those who say "kobe who?" i mean who the fuck cares you're just grabbing attention and when a kobe fan comes in to rant about it that's the time you start an "e-fight" LoL so it's you guys who start ...not the kobe fans

btw great dunk by jordan .....GOAT

  • Mike not only wanted to win every game..he wanted to win every battle, every highlight..thats what made him so good..he was like Tiger Woods..he refused to lose anything..it was never about the money..

  • Wow. Thanks for this post. I was at this game and was standing near the baseline when Jordan made this dunk.

  • man this dunk is a classic. probably the first showtime moment from mj

  • man kobe aint got NOTHIN on MJ23 baby!

  • jordan is the man, paul pierce the best? haha fuck that jordan could still kick his ass

  • a prodigy to be remembered forever. gota love him

  • that was un-nessecary

    but beast

  • ITS THE GOD!!!

  • kobe who?

  • SICK!!!!!!!

  • LEN BIAS RIP

  • The dunk was sick but it isn't an original. Larry Nance, Ralph Sampson and Dr J all did this dunk before Jordan he just made it look better and took off further away

  • Len :(

  • That is a pretty damn far take off point for a cradle dunk. Crraaaaaazy!

  • Go UNC!

  • i saw that game this dunk set the standard 4 mj.

  • That was FILTHY!!!!!

    LOL

    nice

  • I remember watching this live way back then. I was like "what the heck was that?" I'd never seen anything like it before. lol

  • LOL- It's like in Semi Pro when they invent the alley-oop and everyone is like, "what the hell just happened?"

  • howcome noone ever tries to do that dunk now in the nba

  • because it's very difficult to do.

  • because everybody knows it as Jordan's dunk

  • Yup and its a Trademark and if u ever do it everyone will say your a copycat~ ~They live by upon us. without us they would not shine under the spotlight. :D peace~

  • Also very few people can cup the ball like Jordan, Dr. J.. Big hands allow you to do "sick" things with the ball

  • Even the best NBA players today can't pull off the energy Jordan did in his infancy in the sport. Once in the NBA he redefined what basket ball could be, should be and what it is today. Today's NBA players mimic Jordan but haven't taken the sport to the next level like he did. Keep in mind he was still in College when a long time ago when he was dropping these bombs.

  • still the best dunk i have ever seen. i continue to show this clip to people whenever i am around a computer.

  • great clip but, come on, change the description. as stated below UNC was up by 10 points - so to say Bias got blocked on a game-winner is totally false. that's the kind of wrong info that leads to bar fights.

  • Bias wasn't trying to hit a game winner, N.C was up by 10 points. Jordans dunk was nothing more than a chump move at the end of a great game. Much closer than the final score indicates. He was running off the court because he was scared of getting a battery up side the head.

  • Wow, bitter after all these years? Lets see, someone as pathetic as you can only be an NC State fan. Maybe Maryland, but I'm thinking you're a Fudge Pack, oops, i mean 'wolf pack' fan for sure.

  • Not bitter, just recognize no class when i see it. Someone as pathetic as you must be a Hop-A-Long Tarheel fan. "But the baby blue is soooo pretty". I doubt you read this, i'm thinking you jumped off the nearest bridge midway thru the 1st half of that ass-whipping Kansas put on them.

  • Lol, how about your pathetic game against UNC. You know...the game where you scored 13 points in the first half and in the second we had to let off so that we wouldn't embarrass you? If you are too much of a baby that you can't handle a dunk then you should really quit watching basketball. A NC State fan really has no right to say anything as you are not on the same level as UNC. Hell, no one even considers you a worthy rival anymore. It's all about Duke and UNC now. Oh and a battery

  • What was that? Unreal!!!

  • If Len Bias hadnt used coke/crack and died as a result, NBA history would be very different.

  • Are you an idiot or something? That's like saying if they'd never let black people in the league, NBA history would be very different. Both are true, and you're a retard.

  • haha that dude fell over tryin to catch up to him

  • what's so tight about it, is after he dunk, he immediately landed and started running off the court like he knew he dropped a bomb....that was all energy, that he would unleash throughout the NBA for the next 15 years...the fury

  • now see, that was real, JORDAN rock the ball, kicked his legs out and swung it over the top.....jesus christ.....

  • dude... he did that on the competition in the nba too..lol amazing

  • someone beta ice dat rim!!

  • oooooooooo my god!!!!!!

  • that was DIRTY

  • Good Lord he rocked that rim. Len Bias was gonna be such a beast though... :-/

  • damn right he definitely was

  • and to do it right at the end of the game, haha. amazing.

  • and what makes this so special, it was still regulation time! the stadium was still PACKED! and at Maryland too! and UNC had already won it, and MJ just! just! just! what can i say at the end of this game!!!! when he did the slam you saw everyone then got up to leave! they were all stunned at what they just saw!

  • this is still my most favorite MJ moment! because the commentator was off the chain with his reaction to MJ's exclamation point at the end of this game! thanks for the post Sime23

  • omg

  • dangg!

  • Words in Websters Dictionary just don't describe Jordan well enough. Imagine eyes about to pop out, an astonished face and drool pouring out of his or her mouth. Jordan with the signature move that him famous FTW!!!

  • You can't tell me, knowing what we know about Jordan's competitiveness, that he didn't do that to send a message to Bias.

That's another reason why his death was so tragic: Jordan always responded to challenges, and there weren't enough people who could challenge him.

  • It wasn't a message, according to David Halberstam's biography about Jordan, to Bias but Adrian Branch who was also on Maryland in this game, who won the McDonald's High School All-Star game MVP over Jordan.

  • Haha, that makes sense as well. Don't tug on Superman's cape.

  • I was about 12 when he hit that dunk, and immediately afterward, all of us, even those who hated Carolina, were out on the 7 foot goals at the elementary school, trying to recreate it.

  • i think the commentators reaction was even more powerful than the dunk! ha ha ha

  • Len was probably coked up

  • Go shoot yourself in the face, loser. Shoot your mother first.

  • imagine mj and len in the NBA...what a rivalry! They'd run the league! rest in peace Bias!

  • That would have been the goldenest era of the NBA the from 1986-2000 (Bias would have retired in 2000, if he played0 btwn. Bias and Jordan. It might been more titles for the celtics. It's good to dream .... peace be with you and your brother Mr. Bias.
