Try get up early in depressing Ireland. I would love to be getting up at 6 but seriously there is no point doin it over here the place is shit. We have very little sunshine. I cant take it such a depressing place
I'm sure it's irrelevant me saying but you remind me of an ex girlfriend... just a lot more health orientated :) good info by the way so thank you for sharing!
I read 'The Perfect Day Plan' about 5 months ago and have been living by it ever since. I also had the great opportunity of having a lot of one-on-one sessions with Jost and the guy is amazing. I wake up at 5:30 everyday and live by the 'Chi Cycle'. Since doing so I have noticed massive differences in my health and lifestyle in all areas. It all starts with waking up with the sun...the actual giver of light and life.
@allaboutdatGDA Well I always have a rest meditation after lunch to relax and recharge the batteries so don't get me wrong, I love sleep, but I also really enjoy getting up that early because even after you get all of your qigong, weights, pranayama, and then breakfast out of the way, its still not even 8am yet...and then you start your day. I'm in bed by 10:30 anyway so I still operate on a normal daily plan, its just altered so I get up earlier.
waking up in the morning is something thats pretty awsome! the truth behind it is that once your up at sunries, you feel more productive, reality is that waking up at five six o clock in the morning is a little too difficult, but once its a habit it is easy to do. very good for your body and its also good for anti aging for your face.
"Why it's so good to get up early in the morning" I have to get up 4:30 in the fucking morning tomorrow why is that so fucking good? MAN IS NOT SUPPOSE TO BE UP AT THAT TIME!
Many Italians, like my grandparents, eat a hearty breakfast, but do the majority of their eating at 3pm( A HUGE family meal too lunch-dinner combined). They don't eat meals past 5pm, but will have an expresso with fruit or glass of wine later. My grandparents have managed to live very long energetic lives too, now 92 years old. They go to bed around 10pm and get up around 6am, 5am at the earliest.
nice video , nicely put, now what you said about retiring early and rising early is very true in terms of health, and creating your day from high to low just makes so much since, Ive been waking up at 6 for about 3 months now, and its great, i wake up chi gong 2 mile run then some weights, after is breakfast in that order, if you do that everything else seems down hill from there.
No offense, but your body doesn't know what time it is. Your body can recover adequately as long as you get enough sleep. People who work night-shifts can recover just as well as people who are awake during the day. Your body pays attention to the body clock, not Big Ben.
@malmo66 Oh, dear . . . this is simply not true. You body -- to the point, your BRAIN -- knows very well what time it is by the light. No clock time, brain time. Even the Daylight Saving Shift slams you back about three weeks' worth of small incremental circadian light changes going into early spring. The brain has regulators for moving seasonally with light. If you are one lucky person who shrugs off the effects of circadian shakeups, good for you. It is not typical to tolerate it well.
Great vid. I needed this one. I keep staying up till 5am and waking up at 10am. It is driving me nuts. I know I need 7-8 hrs I just don't know what is wrong with me.
Just set your alarm clock for an hour before you have to wake up. Have caffeine pills by your bedside. When it goes off, take a pill, and go back to sleep. You'll wake up "naturally" bright eyed and bushy tailed! This also works with pseudophedrine, but you need to take it about 3 hours before you wake up! Your Welcome...
this is really neat stuff will be watching more of your video's ... i am already active in the morning and by 2 i am pooped........... thank you ............
@blisssis get over your negativity darling or settle for your job and being mediocre. Btw, I have many hugly successful friends with kids and jobs who are doing yoga or in the gym by 6am... I guess the difference is making excuses
I absolutely love how you describe everything with words like "beautiful, luscious, and wonderful". Maybe it's your accent! My american accent sounds so plain and blah compared to yours.
This video is awesome! You're right, I remember a couple years ago I regularly woke up with the sun (about 7 or 8 am) every morning for about half a year, it was the best time of my life! I felt so happy, got so many things done, was never in a rush. I'm trying to get back into that now. I randomly found this video while surfing the net for nothing in particular, like you said, and I love it so I'm subscribing! Thanks!
Wow, very interesting. The Qur'an mentions this as well, the night was made for rest and the daytime for business. Makes me wonder why I'm posting this comment at nearly 1 am, bed time!
for your chi mix in cold shower for 10mins when you wake up and massage the cold water .it will add a chill to your chi, do it for 1 month and you wont be able to stop
one reason why I like waking up early: watching the sunrise also I can play my video game (as I can not during the day cause my family is sometimes watching television. Usually I don't wake up early in the morning. Well night going to bed so I can wake up early.
I don't want to be to negative but what do you think, why are you looking for answers in a book. You talk a lot about work and getting warmed up and working into the night, here's your main problem, your working 40 hours a week to pay rent and eat, where as you should actually only be work upto 4 hours a day to provide yourself with food, shelter and warmth etc.
Love this video! Thanks Fran =] I am definitely a morning person. I love to wake up early, and I agree that I can be so much more productive in the morning! However, I've been going to bed late and waking up past 8 in the morning lately. Your video inspired me to revise my schedule again =]
Thanks for taking the time to film and post this video, I found it really inspiring! I have always been my best in the early morning. Whenever I wake up with the sun, I have the most full, inspiring, uplifting, energizing and refreshing day-- ! I would love to try to make this a daily ritual, to get up early and go to bed early! I also tend to exercise in the afternoon, and would love to move my runs to the morning -!
...However, there are B persons....like myself....I am at my most creative after eight o clock at night....and I get more creative the later it gets. And ever since i was a kid, when I actually did not decide when to go to bed, I had big problems sleeping when I was sup to, (ten at night) and even bigger prob getting up in the morning, and I sitll have, - even though I did get up early all through (5) last summer, it was very hard for me. Any advice for a B person? :)
So when should we get our 'work' done if morning is for excercise and spiritual practice?
Annnd... when should we go to bed?
Personally at 9pm+ I am super creative and I lovvve playing music, but I also love waking up early.. so I don't know, that's my dilemma :P
Ooo! Once I woke at 4am and went running and it was one of the best moments in my life... it is just so beautiful and quiet and energizing, I loved it.
For me i think its a good idea to get up early because lately, i've been getting up so late..feeling so bad about it because i have no time to do anything and i feel tired all day. However, that might not work for some people like working hard in night shift, used to be like that when i did Master degree
I find that I am much more productive in the morning as opposed to the afternoon and evenings. Last semester at college I started waking up at 5:30 am and discovered that I was so much more efficient and felt better throughout most of the days!
@laurelisavantgarde I can imagine. I normally just wake up right before a class and feel overwhelmed all day. There are times I have accidentally or for whatever reason woke up early, having 2 - 4 hours before morning class and I just felt GREAT. To start my morning without stress and accomplishing things? It feels amazing. I think I am going to try to keep that up.
you make a very important point Fran, I always feel MUCH better when I get my sleep schedule on track and get up and active in the morning. Makes the day feel much more productive & longer. And can I just say, your hair is looking beautiful. Is your tan natural? What do you use for sunscreen/block? Just curious, I'm scared to get wrinkles from being out in the sun but I love being outdoors.
I recognized you from the Paul Nison video!
Of course, it's because of your beautiful looks, I'm sure!
