@murphsup. I sure do wish I had seen Microdisney and The Gobetweens on the same bill. I saw Cathal Coughlan about 6 months after seeing the Gobetweens and both were terrific.
Mr Coughlan makes a good job of this classic song. Perhaps even a little too respectful, as the original is so minimally instrumented that a cover might do more. This does less, if anything. Still works though.

Reminds me of seeing Microdisney and the Go-Betweens on a double bill. A great reinterpretation, arguably more powerful than the original.

Brilliant. What Cathal Couglan brings to the song is a sinister, sinister undertone. Wrapped up in a sort of lovesong. Brilliant stuff.
