Totally agree! But Goth isn't a personality. Goth is a fashion/ subculture. People are goths for ALL different reasons. There is not a set personality for a goth. Every goth is an individual person with a different personality. You choose to be goth, for whatever reason, you are not born goth or with a "goth" personality.

Both of them went into a comma, Rob recovered slowly, but it became clear that Sophie would never regain consciousness, so in August 24th, 2007 (two weeks after the attack, not that same night), her family agreed to switch off the life support and she died... When I went to Bloodstock a year or two after the incident, There was a Sophie Lancaster stall, and the band who wrote a song about her (Beholder) sang it live. It was a very special moment in my life to see first - hand the unity of the alternative scene. They released 'Never Take Us Down' as a single - all the profits went to the charity :D I wear my wrist band with pride and haven't taken it off in the 3 years that I've owned it!

I must admit: I've had this problem, and still do, in my school. I get harassed by some brutes constantly because I simply prefer different things from the average kid in Bithlo High. There's probably only 5 Alt. Kids in the school excluding myself. Unfortunately, there's this poseur creep who,, goes to our school as a student, despite being a marked sexual predator. Hes gone to extents of trying to rape one or my friends in the school. It doesn't matter the grounds anymore: Learn self defense!!

It's always good to raise awareness about Sophie, however, her boyfriend survived (they didn't both die) and Sophie actually died 13 days later. What's most shocking is that the paramedics couldn't tell who was male and who was female, because of the facial damage. Anyone interested can look up the case online. The S.O.P.H.I.E Foundation is amazing, I wear my band every single day. It happened here in the UK; a friend of mine actually knew Sophie, she was a lovely, sweet and kind girl.

Sure I'm not happy all the time, no one is. Descision or not, it's irrelevant. It's about how individuals feel comfertable. I had the sophie lancastor vids played during my school assembly as part of our anti-bully campaign, and since im the only goth the in school i always had alot of criticism thrown my way, My principal thought it was a good idea and by the end of the day, i had alot of people realizing it was my idea and actually understanding and being alot less sinister towards me :)

What makes one Goth is simply the music one listens to and, to a lesser extent, the clothes one wears, both of which are *entirely* one's own *personal choice*, no matter how much you try to pretend that it's a "personality" or a "lifestyle."
