@vodkafall Why? They're ideas were unique, yes, but all of their designs (as in trains, track systems, etc) were inferior and created maintenance and ridership nightmares.
Now, to all the others, if I want to call a roller coaster "The X" I think I will, weather you think it's proper or not. Why? Because I like to. And don't you dare ridicule me for it. :)
No, I'm afraid I was never an employee of Arrow or S&S. This video was rarely seen, though, so I thought I would enable more people to be able to see it.
Those peole that called "x" the x, should really read some coaster books! seriouly, if you look up most coasters, you will find that like 1/2 of them would have no the. you cant just add the "the" to a ride unless its put there. you fuckin people need to go out to more theme parks or sumtin! Grab a roller coater book or sometin!!!!! ( grammer people!)
No. You'd say I'm going to ride THE rollercoaster, since it has no name. Once a name has been assigned it is then "I'm going to ride X or Scream etc"
You can't say it both ways. You can, but you wouldn't be correct, using "The"
I, along with others who know enough about the coaster industry consider this one of the dumbest mistakes people make. The general public knows so little when they think they know a lot about a coaster or park.
Stop calling it THE X. IT's just X or X2. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people add the word "THE" to the front of coaster names. Unless "The" belongs there, DON'T use it. That means NO: The Deja Vu, The Ninja, The Tatsu, The Revolution, The Batman, The Scream etc.
but its still a name. it might not sound politically correct, but the fact of the matter is that it is. you can't say im riding THE deja vu. trust me, you cannot put the in front of names, even if they are objects.
No it's not, a noun is a person place or thing, there for, since a rollercoaster is a thing, the same rules apply to coaster's names as they do to people names...
You say, "I want to ride Halle Berry"
Not ,"I want to ride THE Halle Berry"
It sounds stupid and makes no sense in the english language, If you agree with the basic dictionary meaning of a "noun"( A noun is a person, place or thing.) than you can conclude what you are saying is wrong... Thank you.
Wow, I have not seen this footage since 2000! Glad someone uploaded it!

What part of X is that??

None of it it's the lifesize model that Arrow made when designing the 4d type coasters.

I miss Arrow...at least they went out with a bang
Atem122 2 years ago 11
Yes, they did. I just wish the company that bought them out, S&S, would continue to make more Arrow rides.
vodkafall 2 years ago 3
they did make eejanaika, the problem is is that these rides are plagued with technical problems, although the 3rd generation trains do help

it would appear to the casual coaster observer that this 4th dimension tech might have doomed the company...thoughts?
TriptoTheFuture 2 years ago
Yes, it bankrupted the company. Six Flags sued Arrow for not delivering on time, among other things, probably.

that large bang at the end... was that the car smashing into the wall or something then coming back?
LukeExcell 3 years ago
thats it hitting the stoppers. no one is gonna ride this so they dont have to worry about how its gonna stop
plmko187187 3 years ago
why are they clapping though!
they didnt clap when the seats did a full 360 spin but they only clap when you hear that clcik sound????
raclip02 3 years ago 2
That's why I'm guessing it was the very first test run ever--they clapped and applauded because it worked!

Nice video. Glad to finally have a video other than inside the amusement park.
Are you an employee for S&S?
Were you previously an employee for Arrow Dynamics?
This is a great video.

I don't really see the need to debate over people calling it "X" or "The X."

Forget whether or not it's called X or The X (X, obviously), now it's whether it's X2 or X².
vodkafall 4 years ago
I believe it's officially called X² now.

ur stupid. do u even know the english language??!
how would u say it??? "im riding x" "i want to ride X"
NO!! u say "im riding THE x" or "i want to ride the x"
dumbass!
ilovehollycombs 4 years ago
i didnt mean to put the thumbs up. sry. anyways, they turned the letter x into a name. You dont put THE in front of names retard. He's got a point.
Codilla342 4 years ago
YES but the coaster is also a THING whereas humans arent THINGS.
therefore its different when u give a human a name and when u give a THING a name.
u cant say "im riding x"
especially since its only one letter. the fact is it doesnt sound gramatically correct, because X isnt a word. so thats where the original fault is.
X isnt a word...no matter how much they say.
ilovehollycombs 4 years ago

YA BUT X ISNT A NAME, its a letter thats what makes a difference.
it a letter AND a name.
ilovehollycombs 4 years ago
why do I even bother? X is the name of an alpabetical symbol, and in this case a ride...
YOu dont sing the abc's saying the before every alphabet, because the same rules apply for them too...
howyou2 4 years ago
Dude, in this "scientific extremely nerdy uptight case" it stands for XTREME. Ever heard of "abreviations"? Gosh, people can be uptight...
Rct3man777 4 years ago
Wrong in your eyes. =)
In my honest opinion, though...
Unless the fate of the universe is at stake over a silly name, I'm not gonna stress over it.

What about Giant Dipper? Wouldn't it be easier to say "I'm going to ride The Giant Dipper"?
Coastergeekperson04 4 years ago
You're wrong vedved82491 is right. You don't say I would like to go ride the X. Look it up! It's called X. NOT THE X.
Sixflags1234567 4 years ago 5
YES ITS CALLED JUST X! but THE comes from the english language! you can say it both ways. its not wrong either way
ilovehollycombs 4 years ago
THANK YOU!!!!!
Codilla342 4 years ago
you are very welcome. are you an enthusiast?
vodkafall 4 years ago
@Sixflags1234567 its actually now called X2..they remodeled it and added a "2" to the name.

Actually --and I'm a year too late-- people don't say THE X, they really do say "let's go on X," or "X2"

Its called X. "The X" is wrong. "The Extreme" is wrong. "Extreme" is wrong. X is correct.
