@AlenaJolie And SO LUCID! What a mind! I ate dinner with him after shooting the interview at the Players Club, under the oil portrait of James Cagney as Admiral Halsey in "The Gallant Hours". He told me that I had a lovely smile! :)
@goodplans4you You are most welcome! And Thank YOU for watching! Please pass our channel name on to your friends if you think that they might also enjoy our interviews, feature films, and unique archival footage!
@TheCarole63 When we finished the interview, I said to his agent- "There he is- the guy who won the Second World War." He turned and said smiling, "in your dreams, kid!"
@soapbxprod If I were lucky enough to have been Mr. Johnson's "life coach," perhaps he would have appreciated what his performances did for WWII audiences. Love to hear more stories about this eventful meeting! Sad his legacy is fading away. BTW - the Janet Leigh interviews are wonderfully rich.
@TheCarole63 You may call me anytime! I'm a Hollywood fanatic! 603-585-3057
Also- did I already tell you that I'm Abner Biberman's grandson? And Herbert Biberman's Grand nephew? Google them! Abner was very famous in his day, and Herbert was one of the Hollywood 10.
@soapbxprod Your genes are the best...that explains so much! I would love to talk. My beginning came from fantasy life at the Tibbits Theater every Friday as a youth.
Van Johnson was great. Saw him do summer stock at the Dennis Theater on Cape Cod in the 1970's. I think it was "Send Me No Flowers" . Always wore red socks, even on stage that night. Was saddened when I read that he passed away kind of alone in a nursing home.
@ARJAY1962 I wonder if the "alone" was by choice...No mention of any memorial service has ever been printed either. As for the famous red socks, During a Red Skelton TV bit, Red looks down at Mr. Johnson's socks and exclaims, "OMG, your feet are bleeding!"
@Bijoushow He said to me over dinner, "you have lovely eyes." And he really meant it! One of the greatest moments of my life- and I have Janet to thank!
@tyjeffries I had the honor of dining with him that night upstairs in the Club- under the portrait of James Cagney as BULL Halsey in "The Gallant Hours"! A moment that I will never forget! Cheerio!
@TheCarole63 Hello Carole.. You know I am a huge fan of these interviews and your magical style of engaging with these Golden Age stars. It is so captivating. I have a sketchy script for a movie about Garbo in those later years..with all those gorgeous tales about her...what an eccentric she was. And yes that would be a magical scene..along with the village of plastic trolls she evidently used to keep under her sofa!! lol Thanks for saying hello. Best Ty xx
@tyjeffries I agree with you about these wonderful videos. However, you have me mixed up with Luke Sacher & Carole Langer from soapbxprod. I only reposted Carole's engaging interviews. Who would think two of us movie nutts with the same spelling "Carole!" :-)
@TheCarole63 I jumped to cinematic conclusions lol.. we are all movie nuts I guess...I am just a nut so I have no excuse...sorry about that. lol best Ty
He aged so well. Looks amazing.

Very self-effacing guy. Like when he introduces himself as 'Van Heflin', great sense of humor.
