  • its very rare you find a band that sounds better live than their studio recording

  • chad.... i love you.

  • Matt Stone sure can rock!

  • I liked the acoustic version better

  • Dispatch IS the best band on the earth! Do you know how long I've been waiting to say IS instead of WAS?

There's no words man, no words.

  • check out sculptured air.

  • pete is my hero

  • haha im digging pete... sooooo much

  • A band with 3 leads that play/sing/write, who attracted 110,000+ fans including many from multiple countries to their "last" concert, played 3 sold out shows at MSG, who give much support to multiple charities, and all this as an independent band with no radio or major corporate promotion? Thats just insane, they are making history. I am so glad they are back together!

  • i think that bass player might have a.d.d.

  • @beefy0010 why?

  • millionth view fuck yeah i waited it out just to be that guy. Dispatch foreever

  • Even though this is very rhythmically uneven and WAY fast, they have some strange energy that makes it sound better than the recorded version. I love this performance!

  • Chad came to my high school because his sister was my english teacher and he was the man!

  • I adore this song, but DAMN they're such bad players.... this song is absolutely fantastic, though... 1:44 GOD, that sucked... that drummer needs to find a metronome.. (sorry, guys... it's TRUE... their manager was just RIDING the wave instead of really working this group correctly... it's obvious)

this is WAAAAAAYYYY too fast, guys... where'd your groove go? wtf?

anyway, great song; great story well-told. good on you, dispatch. now, GO PRACTICE your instruments!!!

  • @somebodyjones2 you obviosly know nothing about music

  • @presunto93 hehehe. okay. thanks, professor.

  • @somebodyjones2 Imperfections aren't always a bad thing... Look at a band like the white stripes, sure meg white cant play the drums for shit, but it gives the music a different feel. this may not be technically good, but thats not the point.. BUT ALAS i am no genius myself, and i say to you to each his own.

  • @madcuzubad no, i know... imperfections MAKE music. I'm a HUGE miles davis fan...those records are RIDDLED with imperfections. When i am in the studio with a group, we are never working toward "perfection."

that said, i'm not speaking to imperfections; i'm speaking to a band that can't seem to hold it together and create the synergy (result is greater than the sum of its parts) that other bands of mediocre players can... .. and meg vibes in that band WAY better than any of these guys

  • @somebodyjones2

    ur just wrong

  • @cartervail nope, but thanks for playing.

  • @somebodyjones2

You know you're probably right. I mean, only terrible musicians sell out MSG, right?

  • @cartervail Justing Bieber, Aventura (kings of bachata), Britney Spears... all of them sold out MSG.

    All great musicians.

    You make smart points.

They're shitty players. Why can't you just accept it? They're really, really BAD players..

  • @cartervail hi carter

  • @dmbdispatch14

I say, guitar prodigy, is that you?

  • @cartervail who is this?

  • @dmbdispatch14 Huh?

  • @somebodyjones2 Man.. You need to check out some other Dispatch stuff. This is not a good example of them. They literally broke up right after this performance. Tensions were running high. They are amazing instrumentalists.

  • @axjtjf *shrugs*... okay. i'm having a hard time believing that they are amazing instrumentalists, judging by the weak playing on the original recording (which I like a LOT, by the way) and THIS performance. i've been in bands with turmoil... you still play tight.

dunno... don't really care. i'll check it out, i guess.. i think our standards might be different, though. I'm not impressed, is all.

thnx for the background info, though. i wasn't aware of that.

  • Love this performance

  • this is a great song

  • @sawbelly13 Go fuck yourself.

  • unfortunatley only dispatch state radio foo fighters Red hot chilli peppers and davematthews band are the only true rock bands left on the bright side i can listen to those five forever

  • @frcklebutt i completely agree with u on tht list

  • Gave me chills. Enough said. Love you Dispatch.

  • try this cover: watch?v=g-nwfAhODa0&feature=related

  • you got no time to loose you are young men u must be living... dont let life pass you by get up get out and make you life what you want it to be...

  • hahaha i could watch this a thousand times!

  • I havent ate for two days because I was watching this video on repeat.

  • What kind of guitar is Chad using?

  • if the guitarrist would play a little better and cleaner it would be one o the greastest bands in the world.

  • Seeing them in NY in August! =D

  • @dilbadil Dave Matthews Band Caravan?

  • This band looks exactly like how you'd expect them to look.

  • Terrific, very clever anti-war song! Some battles may be necessary, but the "old general" obviously determined that the one in the song isn't worth the carnage to follow. Not a vocal song for the timid - nor for the non sober!

  • I know the gutair player. :)

  • 49 people dont deserve to be forgiven

  • i don't think its fast at all, they always play like this live

  • Song's got so much soul.Fuckin' like it,live it and love it!Peace.

  • AWESOME just AWESOME!!!!

  • I wish he didn't play so fast, but nonetheless, they're awesome :)

  • Dispatch is playin a new song on jimmy fallon's show tonite! 4/27/2011

  • @TheMusicluv1

Yes, sir... fahk'n fantastic. I appreciate this new one you've exposed me to this morning.

  • 47 people like War + Justin Bieber

  • True musical genius lies in the raw and real... Dispatch in a nutshell. These guys are the genuine article folks. ♫♪

  • every time a band nowadays goes on tv they have some bullshit expensive outfit on wearing a suit or a costume or leather jackets or sportcoats cuz they think they are some new age hipster shit? well dispatch went on with the most plain, simple, unlabeled, MINIMALIST clothes , and let their music do the talking. i respect the shit outta that

  • @maxcady5 dude the current hipster...which is like half the world...wears vintage plaid and v necks and cheap pants...no idea what your information comes from

  • @maxcady5 -- that's great, except this performance was 10 years ago, when more bands were dressing in plain clothes.

  • @maxcady5 remember the make up that usually is there too.. got to respect that as well!

  • I didn't know Seth Rogan was in this band...

  • @gulfsurfa ha ha that's hilarious to me!!!!!!

  • I don't think they sped it up for the show. Look a t Metallica live. Better yet, listen to Flying Horses on the live album.

  • is that a first act custom?

  • So did they break up and just get back together? I just found out about this band a couple of weeks ago. They are F'n awesome!

  • @JJHurley85

haha i hear ya! they are great, im seeing them in june! im so psyched they are touring!

  • Yeah I don't like that they had to speed up the song to make it fit within the time frame of the show :(

  • fuckin love this song, but i like it better slower. I guess the show made them speed it up

  • This shit is daily listening for me. Love it.

  • 45 poeple on this world suck cock

  • Too bad they broke up.

  • @LukeRech not true, they r going on tour in the summer, im going to see them

  • @kfirie Actually they did. I'm not going to argue, but where are they touring?

  • @LukeRech dispatchmusic.c om and you'll see! so stoked!

  • @jeremy0574 - just as a heads up, if they got rid of the bass player they would lose like 40% of their catalog. Since you just got into them, they switch instruments. This is the basic layout. The song Bang Bang is Pete (the bassist) playing guitar, Chad (the singer) playing bass and singing and Brad drumming. They will switch quite a few times on stage, and will have drummers (or guitarists) fill in, especially when Brad plays the guitar and sings. Also, I have seen Pete sub in on drums.

  • Best Band ever.

  • this recording is amazing. can't wait to see them live in Berkeley! June 11th

  • The way he says guns is awesome. Anybody else notice that?

  • June 8th in chicago, cant wait

  • @quagmire1289 I'm going too. Sold out millennium park, cant think of a better venue.

  • JUNE 26th BOSTON BABY WOO!

  • Reminds me more of O.A.R.

  • @mvnup2 O.A.R. reminds you of Dispatch, is what you meant to say.

  • @markd325 Nope. Just found this band so they remind me of O.A.R. O.A.R. is a bit better in my humble opinion.

  • @mvnup2 Just bustin' ya balls bro. I'm just psyched beyond words to see Dispatch for the first time in years. I've never seen a better band live, and a crowd more positive, happy, and groovin'. Love O.A.R. too. Saw them live in NYC. Killer sax solos. Peace!

  • sublime+red hot chili peppers= dispatch

  • @mrEGYPT121 not even close

  • @cooptroop123 and what do you mean by that

  • this video needs 1 million hits. pass it on

  • @terichards

    word

  • @terichards you should watch the video 55,000 more times then

  • @terichards 1 billion

  • 43 people have not been forgiven

  • One week.

    --Street Team

  • kilborn was such a terrible host...just sayin

    sooo pumped for dispatch 2011

  • @thestormlscoming whats dispatch 2011?

  • @MrShibbyTaco they're doing a mini summer tour =]

and im hesitant to spread the word because heads will roll if i don't get tickets, but i'm too excited to contain myself lol.

  • @thestormlscoming oh nice!!where can i find the tour dates?

  • pete is the man!

  • dispatch live sounds so irish it hurts

  • DISPATCH 2011. TWO WEEKS. GET EXCITED. SPREAD THE WORD.

  • @Koshesha73 whats going on?

  • I left when I was forgiven, but then I realised the concert wasn't over.

  • 42 is the answer to the question, how many people don't listen to good music

  • /watch?v=L0799PAJ79g

  • What's with people thinking the bassist is a douche? Idk about anyone else but i think when you play your music it doesn't mean shit if you don't like it. He CLEARY likes his music and that makes it that much better.

  • chads beard is awesome and his fro is even better

  • i had forgotten how good this particular performance was. they looked so happy it's hard to believe they went on hiatus after that

  • dispatch is great live

  • Dispatch 2011! first tour date announced, Red Rocks

  • DISPATCH 2011!!!!!!!!

  • who is psyched for dispatch 2011?!?! (whatever it may be)

  • Jesus, I miss Dispatch. Best band ever.

  • Thumbs up if you started singing along

  • hell yea. hell yea

  • The bassist looks like Brendan Fraser.

    Exactly like him.

  • whats amazing is this might the worst version of the general live i've heard. and it's still fucking amazing. damn i miss dispatch

  • this is one of the big songs at my camp. One of the rare bands that still sound good live.

  • OMG LOVE

  • I just watched "the Last Dispatch." Goddamn, I forgot how much I loved this band.

    Amazing music.

  • THey play it so much faster than they do on itunes... : (

  • I love pete and all....but he was kinda being a tool during this haha

  • I just found these guys, but it seems like they could do without the bass player. He seems to be needy for attention.

  • @jeremy0574 Not even. He's having fun and enjoying the music. That's someone who actually plays with feeling. It's inspirational.

  • @jeremy0574 dude, he's jamming.

  • @jeremy0574 i hate when people say ANY band doesn't need a bass player, just because the instrument is usually more subtle and not as easily heard does not mean it isn't needed. and i happen to love the bass in this song.

  • @jeremy0574 you clearly lack the subwoofer that i'm using to listen to this amazing song. get one and you will observe that the bass is amazing

  • @jeremy0574 jeremy spoke in class today

  • @jeremy0574 first of all the bassist is just living it up. and second of all they have broken up. learn a little bit about the band before you start telling it what to do

  • @jeremy0574 No I agree completely. This was one of the first bands I ever loved and I've ALWAYS thought that the bassist was a showy douche onstage. Plus his songs try too hard to drop panties. BUT his bass-playing is really good I will definitely give him that. And he has cool hair.

  • @jeremy0574 so, do you also think the Red Hot Chili Peppers could do without Flea? Is he another attention-needy bassist?

    -_-

  • @jeremy0574

Well we could do without you.

  • this was the last show they played before the last dispatch...what a way to go

  • great electric version! classic song!

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • Dispatch is soooo damn good.

  • Excellent song, and clearly they love what they do.

  • Pete's gettin' down...check out those moves.

  • who would ever dislike this song? they're retards

  • Can we get all the dispatch members for a reunion concert to raise volunteers to help with ecological relief along the gulf?

  • I've yet to see a bass player jump around the stage like that and not look like an idiot.

  • @Vexis525 uhm flea of RHCP in every performance ever?

  • @cozzy99coz no one is crazier than that mother fucker

  • @Robiskool1234 he may be the best bassist ever lol

  • @Vexis525

AAAAAAAAAAnd you are sitting in your mutha and daddys

trailer with your weenie in your hand, where are YOUR music videos?

  • @MICKEEBERMAN Its a Modulus G3, they dont make them anymore.

  • wow, they really nailed this performance, you never see that much enthusiasm in a late night talk show audience but they totally knew how to work the crowd.

  • @MICKEEBERMAN he's playin a rickenbacker

  • @blakerobinson02 No, its a Modulus G3

  • love it!

  • im so mad that they broke up, this was their last show other than sommervalle theater and hatch shell, but im not gonna lie state radio is still amazing

  • The tempo is kind of fast compared to the usual. Maybe they were nervous and anxious to get off the stage.

  • @surfhmr24 Have you ever seen Dispatch live. Whenever they play it electric it's quicker and has much more of a rock feel to it. Different, but still amazing.

  • @surfhmr24 they always play this faster live

  • possibly the biggest tools

  • it kinda sucks that this was one of the last times they performed before their last show. right when they were really getting famous they were breaking up. too bad. I just want to get to go to one of these reunion shows if they dont sell out in 3 fucking seconds. haha

  • I love bradigan's harmonies. theyre beast

  • this sounds better faster like this

  • watch?v=xJuGEuL3Wh8
