  • shi can't see the other part fucking BBC

  • The 3rd doctor STEALS those clothes?? Who else would dress so outrageously?

  • "Oh no!" XD

  • Please reupload the second video because the idiots at the BBC decided to block it and not give a hoot about the other videos, just to piss us off even more.

  • I noticed that the TARDIS' exterior seemedtoregenerate with Jon as the windows where tht creamy grey colour when Jon Pertwee stepped out and then in Robot when

u first see it i has black widows and is a lighter blue ive been speculating about this for a year now when I watched the episode pl;anet of the spiders and robot on the same Day

  • I noticed that the TARDIS' exterior seemedtoregenerate with Jon as te indows where tht creamy gey colour when Jon Pertwee stepped out and then in Robot whenu frst see it i has black widows ive been speculating about this for a year now when I watched the episode pl;anet of the spiders and robot on the same Day

  • Did they talk about the "Time War" in the first Episode?

  • I notice the First and Ninth Doctors perform a similar action as their regeneration aprroached: they looked at their hand.

  • 7:33 ROFL

  • Too bad they removed part 2 :/

  • The Master disliked this 8 times.

  • ok. is anyone else seriously freeked out by how one of the choices looks alot like the tenth? side burns, skiny, crazy hair. I guess it is possible that russel wanted to refference it by making david look like him and david liked the look so he stuck with it but still....

  • I've always loved the second Doctor and have thought of him as one of my faves. I love the "Stop! Your making me dizzy". He is exactly the type of character I would imagine the Doctor to be. Tom Baker and David Tennant also seem to manage to get that balance of seriousness and fun.

  • I've never seen such an incredible bunch! lmao

  • I always wondered how the clothes of the 2nd Doctor could fit on the 3rd Doctor, as Pertwee was considerably taller.

  • technical q: how do you get the caption boxes up? I only have Movie Maker, can't manage itw wth that - maybe I just don't how how to use it!

  • @franl155 If you are talking about the annotations, you put them on once you upload a video, in case you forgot to mention something.

  • i agree, the 3rd doctors regeneration was very quick, maybe because k'Anpo Rinpoche gave it a little push.

  • @theblehguy1 thanks dear, I'll try it

  • @theblehguy1 was this the only outside-the-Tardis regenration? maybe that's why he needed a nudge. OK, PT went to JP outside the Tardis, but the time lords did that

  • thanks for this - I really like it!

  • Oh for Christ sake, I can't believe you take this bollocks seriously.

  • Where did you get the stuff from the tenth planet, i thought it was lost and only the regeneration scene survived

  • "Stop! You're making me giddy!"

  • make part 4

  • I think you should do an updated version called Doctor Who Extended Regenerations 4 with the 11th doctor!!!

  • @classicdrwhoman I think we should wait until the 13th Doctor

  • Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought that loads of material from Hartnell's last serial, The Tenth Planet, had been lost, and that only the regeneration survived? Where'd you get the other footage?

  • Intriguing commentary. I appreciate that you included people's (or your) speculations and thoughts. :)

  • The first regeneration is the most natural looking of the 10, for 1960's special effects it's quite brilliant!

  • Doesn't the first choice look like Leonardo da Vinci? And the second a *gasp* black man? A black Dr Who? Very daring for the 1960s! But he's right - those choices were all awful! What he ended up with was definitely the best by comparison, and at least he can live with it (eventually).

  • I always hated Tom Baker, he played an idiot looking adult version of Arnold Horshack.

  • William Hartnell and John Pertwee are my favorites.

  • Don't you think the Ninth Doctor looking at himself in the mirror in "Rose" is a nod to 9:20?

  • Sorry I meant 7:20.

  • I think the 2nd-10th doctors have been much more adventurous and do more interfering in the dangerous affairs of others (saving the worlds and all that) which is why they end up dying far more often than the first.

  • OMG That one drawing did really look like Ten! Too Funny!

Thanks a million for putting this up! I've been looking for some of these and they are hard to find.

  • Jamie and the Brigadier. The longest serving companions. :)

  • This is wicked. I love all your little side-notes and really appreciate seeing these things in context. Thank you for posting this!

  • Tom Baker was trully funny

  • "What do you think about the ears?" OH my god, this guy is so huggableXD

  • amazing how you got old footage of the VERY FIRST season.

  • UNIT!! Hey, thats funny. I'm too young to have scene the original doctor who series, but i've watched all of the RTD series and i love it! This is all cool to see. Thank you very much!

  • Is it me or does anybody think that Matt Smith will re-live Troughton? I've seen the trailer, and they both have that slapstick personality

  • @IsshySouljaESA27 When I saw the trailer I had the same exact thought

  • is brigadier, wilfred?

  • no watch the sarah janes adventures i cant remember wat episode it is the second one with the bane and the brigader is like 60-90 yrs old same actor though lol

ps i am 12 and have watch all episodes and a few apparently lost ones lol

  • 8:19 LOL!

  • "Stop! You're making me giddy!" hahaha classic

  • i'd love to see one of these done for the later doctors as well!

  • i wonder why the doctor always wanted

    ginger hair

  • ...because he never had ginger hair =D

  • There's still two regenerations left. You never know, he just might get his wish!

  • what do you mean only two left??

  • A Time Lord can only regenerate a maximum of twelve times.

  • The important thing to remember is that the 12 limit is an *artificial* one imposed by the Timelords/Rasillon; in several different stories (Trial of a Timelord; The Five Doctors; Keeper of Traken (thru) Castrovalva, et al), it was made clear that Timelords can have more than 12 regenerations. In The Five Doctors, the council dangles a new life-cycle of regenerations in the Master's face as incentive to aid the Doctor; The Valeyard exists between the Doctor's 12th and *later* regenerations...

  • Ah cmon, we all know this legendary show isn't going to end with the Doc reaching his twelth regeneration! This show has been going on for many different generations... I'm sure something "special" will happen so he'll live for longer and longer

  • With a total of 13 faces

  • @bluecatcinema its 13

  • TRUE!.... Kind of weird though ...imagin' him with ginger hair, would be great though!

  • I always liked the way the second Doctor went out - kicking and screaming.

  • Comment removed

  • GOOD JOB!!

  • hey you should add when the 3rd doctor escapes the hospital in a wheelchair!

  • "You think I might attract attention?"

    "It's just possible."

  • @Fisher194 it's just possible

  • i think to be honest, Timelords can only choose once.

The Doctor lost his choice because it was forced apon him in The War Games. Romana managed to choose hers and so did the Master in Utopia, hence saying "if the doctor can be young and bold, then so can i" hinting that this was hic choice for that renewed life cycle.

  • Thanks for putting these together, better to see them in context.

  • Love them all, wish BBC didn't destroy so many episodes though.

  • @aparent300 Yeah, it's so sad that the BBC destroyed a lot of DW episodes and younger fans will never see Who in its entirety. Shows how short-sighted they were at the time. Oh, to borrow the Tardis and nip back in time to grab some of those films before they were junked!

  • lol tom baker in a vyking suit

  • @ACrex99

    Suited him as well LOL

  • I want to thank you for putting these videos together, but you may want to re-watch Spearhead from Space. The Doctor doesn't steal the clothes from a gentleman showering in the other room. He steals the hat and coat from a visiting expert and the rest of the outfit he finds in a nearby locker room. (Just had to say that. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed these!)

  • You rock!

  • I think that the ability to change clothes was either forgot about by the new production team, or the ability was erased by the timelords.

  • I like the idea of the devious fan doctor being a case of the timelords suddenly needing the second doctor again but getting it a bit late.

  • the first appearance of the doctor 's people is the meddling monk.

  • At 8:18, The 4th Doctors wears one of the Head Clowns outfit in one of the 7th doctor who episode 'The Greatest Show IN The Galaxy'.

  • Oh man: "I've never seen such an incredible bunch!" Great line.

  • You mentioned this is the first hint that the Tardis is alive. It isn't we see the first hint in "The Edge of Destruction."

  • watching this i remember why tom baker was my favourite dr of all time.

  • You've updated this...good job! :)

  • I had always figured that the TARDIS sensed what was about to happen, and flew itself out of there. Or maybe the Doctor pschically connected with it and asked to to go. Or something like that.

  • how did you get the first doctors regeneration?

wasent part 4 of his last episode missing?

  • no only the regeneration survived the rest was missing

  • Is it just me or does the clown outfit that Tom Baker puts on the exact same one later seen in "Greatest Show In The Galaxy" with Sylvester McCoy?

  • trauma? what trauma?

    i don´t know.

  • Briliant! Well put together!

    Thank you!

  • 8:24 - David Bowie moment, much?

  • I still find it abit funny that he gets younger as he gets older

  • any one know where I can see the episode "robot"? (just started watching Doctor who)

  • Ive got it.

IF you live in america, than you can go to barnes n' nobles

  • It's funny...Tom spends the whole episode smiling :) The scene where he pulls up in Bessie for the stuff to stop the robot was funny...all you see are, ahem, teeth and curls :)

  • Why is it that most people think, hartnell's clothing changed when he regenrated? If you look at Patrick's clothing at 1:53 to 2:00 you can see he is still were Will's clothing.

  • It is stated quite clearly in many "About Time" almanacs, DWM archives, official websites, and even several cited sources on wikipedia (not that wiki = absolute proof) that the 1st doctors clothes change during the first 'rejuvenation.' Go to the official BBC DW website and look at the POWER OF THE DALEKS photonovel. It is quite clear that the color of the Doctor's pants change, he looses his white vest, monocle, hat, and scarf, and his spotted cravat becomes a bow tie.

  • Well I just took another look at it and it does seem like it changed. Sorry, the cloak he was wearing threw me off.

  • @yusteles indeed, the only thing that remains the same is the cape...

  • doctors regerations are so good.

  • Nice with the annotion!

  • In The Tomb of the Cybermen, The Second Doctor states his age to be 450 years old, so the diary does somewhat match up with the scene

  • As far as the idea of the TARDIS being involved in the regeneration, it was probably just helping him out on the first 'go', particularly given the implication in later novels that the Doctor spent some time trying to hold off his regeneration.

  • Actually, as far as the Doctor's age goes, we already have clear proof he's probably lying about it; the Seventh Doctor states that he's 953 immediately after his regeneration (Personally, I think the Ninth Doctor took his comment about "900 years of time and space travel" and just considered THAT his age, ignoring the 200 or so years before he acquired the TARDIS)

  • He complained about his ears sticking out in his fourth incarnation... imagine how he must have felt when he first caught a glimpse of pair number nine!

  • Watch "rose" Christopher Eccleson's first episode cause he does

  • 3:40 I know he said "What..What Happened" but it sounds like "What the fuck happened?!"

  • any plans to update this like part 2 and 3?

  • Done!

  • Love the Brigadier's expression at 7:33.

  • lol the fourth doctor is so cute!

  • 0:43: Indeed, William. It is indeed far from being over. It is only just the beginning.

  • the resaen why the first doctor regenerate

to the 2sd doctor, is becuse he is dieing of old age.

  • at 3:31, it sounds like he is breaking wind and looks abit like it with his eyes closing and opening.

  • aww the sadest part is seeing hartnells ring on the floor and seeing him in the mirror

  • "you think i might attract attention?"

    Nooooo! not tom baker. ;)

  • tom baker was brilliant as the doctor =D

  • Nicely done!!!

  • 2.48 looks like david tennent!...LOL

  • Actually, it's been compared in-series to the Dictator of the alternate Earth the Third Doctor encountered in "Inferno", prompting some speculation- even for the Doctor himself- that the dictator of that world was an alternate version of the Doctor himself.

  • 2.49

  • so the 2nd doctor got forced to regenerate

  • Yes, the Time Lords thought that the Second Doctor has done something bad (which wasn't true) and he was put into exile (on Earth).

  • They didn't think he'd done anything BAD, they just prefer to take a 'hands-off' approach to the affairs of the universe and objected to the Doctor getting involved like he does.

  • when he falls out of that TARDIS and everything goes technicolor, it reminds me of the wizard of oz.

  • lol doesnt it

  • Since the Timelords can control time and space - they can certainly trigger the natural regenerative process of one of their own species

  • um...a bit outta sync

  • da 4th doctor somhow reminds me of L....

  • Look at 2:49. Doesn't that look a little bit like David Tennant?

  • Tom Baker rocks!

  • cool

  • I actually think that the first regeneration is one of the best. Creepy music and sound effects, very unnerving. I also think the effect of merging the two faces is very good, especially for 1966 - his face actually appears to change rather than just fading from one actor to the other, like 3 to 4.

  • i only saw the revived series, but it looked like the 4th Doctor was entertaining :)

  • 7:40 The 3-4 regen was fun, what with the costumes and the festoonery.

  • Wait...that head Time Lord guy Troughton is arguing with...is that Gulliver from The Mind Robber?

  • yes.

  • If I recall correctly, I think he also went on to appear as Chancellor Goth in "The Deadly Assassin", a Time Lord who was allied with the Master in a scheme to become President of Gallifrey.

  • Is it my imagination, or did the third face Troughton rejected--the one that was "too thin"--bear a striking resemblence to David Tennant? =)

  • patrick troughton's regeneration is the funniest thing ever lol

  • Correction, he is one of the "funniest" doctors ever.

  • who?

  • wow

  • The 2nd Doctor is really funny, similiar to the 9th and 10th Doctors.

  • haha bless patrick troughton "oh well he's too old, well he's just too fat isn't he, no he's too thin, that ones too young oh that won't do at all" lol

  • This makes me think further that The Doctor is very old.

  • He's 900 and something last time i remember.

  • ya, reeeeeeeeeally old... but he looks like a puppy in that one episode with David T. where He's with The Master and he's aging The Doctor. When he gets to where he's really short and looks like an alien, that's when I want to give him a doggy treat. I'm just just kidding ing

  • yeah but he's Been lying about his age for Maybe 200 Years Because In Rememberance Of the Daleks 7 Says He Is 900 Years Old

  • Actually it has more to do with his incarnations never being 'exactly' sure how old they are or even where the TARDIS manual is ^^;

  • True, but in an Interview with Matt Smith On the Doctor Who Website, he says he's playing a 950 year old time lord so he may just be lying and know how old he is

  • That doesn't help much since the Seventh has called it at 953 ^^; same with the fourth as 743 and so on - the doctors age changes so much because he simply can't remember - Romana pointed this out more than once lol

  • Yeah but the Doctor IS probably LYING because he's an OLD FART!

My guess is he's somewhere around 1000

  • Especially where the TARDIS manual is.

  • he's 903 years old

  • yeah, what Rache19 said.

  • wit episodes are tees

  • Regenerations:

1-2: The Tenth Planet - The Power of the Daleks

2-3: The War Games - Spearhead from Space

3-4: Planet of the Spiders - Robot

  • He was tried at the end of The War Games and was banished to earth in a new body.

Teh, lol I bet you thought the Sixth Doctor regenerated at the end of The Trial of a Time Lord...

"Right, a bracing glass of Carrot Juice and we'll get you back on the excerciser".

  • Have you thought about the season 6B theory? That the 2nd doctor worked as an agent for the time lords during The Two Doctors and The Five Doctors? Read it up and you will see, as the production notes says on The Two Doctors' DVD it "neatly cuts across all continuity errors". Try reading up before you criticise. Don't be such a bloody child too.

  • Tom Baker best doctor who but David Tennants great too

  • sarahs reaction is kinda funny =P Elisebeth is such a good actor!

  • I always found the Troughton regen quite creepy and trippy haha! I love to watch the Doctor choose an outfit though, just proves even aliens play dress up ;op lol. great vid!

  • this is nice vid

  • It's a striking difference to go from Troughton to Tom Baker.

  • I love the regens - thanks for doing this!

  • i love the 2nd doc, he has such a friendly face :)

  • why does the second doctor look like moe from the three stooges???

  • "Don't you like them?"

xD I haven't seen much of Tom... I should look for more of his.

  • did the 2nd doctor regenerate with the 1st clothes on?

  • This is the first and only time that the doctor's clothes regenerate as well as his body.

Some have claimed that this is actually not a pure regeneration but a technologically aided 'rejuvination'-having to do with the Tardis or something like that. Well, thats what they said at the time. Hey, it was their first time and that period of the show was full of continuity errors that were never retconned IN THE TV series.

  • thanks for clearing that up for me I couldnt remember. Great videos by the way.

  • its no worse than Rose's regeneration of hair between Parting of the Ways and the Children in Ned special!
