  • I still use a VCR, at least you can fast forward through the adverts etc. on films!

  • Oh VHS, why did we forsake you?

  • I'm Italian and politics are really f**ked up here, but England seems catching up quite fast!!!....

  • is this supposed to be a comedy show because I found it incredibly dull even with jeremy clarkson

  • Watching this in March 2010, it's fascinating to see how attitudes have changed towards the conservatives and Labour party

  • @beepandbop

What, you've found someone who doesn't hate them both? What a mug! haha

  • Ian as Doctor Who would probably make me want to watch the show.

  • Well played.

  • What shrill nonsense. She was a mediocre academic whose work was ostensibly dialectical, and was no more than a niche writer. Her direct influence on the minds and actions of women and on society generally have always been groosly exagerated- mainly by those that had at best a cursory knowledge of Greer and, more broadly, of feminist academia.

Her advocation of gyocentrism couldnt be less influential- gyocentrism existed LONG before Greer et al. and will after- her influence will be minimal.

  • @williamwilson666

Are you obfuscating or do you speak as if you are in a sociology class all the time? =P

  • @Restayvien Don't be silly. What I wrote is demonstrably antithetical to obfuscation. Nor is redolent of sociology, which is merely a bastard child of politics.

  • @williamwilson666

That's an affirmative answer if I ever saw one. xD

  • @Restayvien I can only assume, on that basis, you are quite ignorant of sociology- or possibly in general?

  • @williamwilson666

Assume whatever you like if it makes you feel happy! ; ) Ostentatious writers often have narcissist tendencies, hence your pathetic attempt to belittle me.

  • @Restayvien I make my assumptions on what is most likely to be true based on observable evidence. People who do otherwise tend to project this vice onto others in an all too transparent attempt to shield their low self-esteem- hence your adolescent use of reductive fallacy on two occasions in the same post. Unfortunately ,since your ignorance of psychology matches you ignorance of sociology, you succinctly advertise both emotional and intellectual immaturity. Enjoyed the smiley, though-very 90s

  • Clarkson talked about this appearance in one of his books, he said it was one his worse moments on television and if was asked again wouldn't do it.

  • so what happened?

  • Well, surprisingly, everything that Clarkson says (and other guests to the show) is completely scripted, but the others don't have to stick with the script.

Clarkson had to come early to the studio, whereas they came last minute, pull their own gags etc, Clarkson felt like he was just being used for publicity.

  • That wasn't in the book I read mate. In "The World According To Clarkson" he says how amazing the show was, because he thought the whole thing was hideousley scripted but that day there was a huge news story (I forget what it was) and the script was re-written on the day. Also Paul and Ian didn't arrive until about 6pm (filming started around 7) and thus could not have seen the script.

That's from "The World According to Clarkson", what was yours from mate?

  • He's doing what we philosophers call bullshitting. I'm sure other people use the term too, but none of them write 65 page essays on the subject. If he really were that annoyed with it, do you think he would have come back 3 series later?

If it's "scripted" but you do not have to "stick to the script" it is at best guided. Clarkson only has to read the teleprompter then can do what he wants.

  • 6:21 - Anyone notice Al Murray?

  • I'm working to become a british citizen.

  • Good for you mate! Just out of curiosity; why exactly? (I'm not taking the piss, I'm genuinely curious.)

  • Well first because I completely admire the people, and I felt as though my likes were much the same (as they were completely different in the USA). Also I am going to attend an acting academy next year and the only theater that showed any interest in me after I finish at the academy, and it's in England.

  • Welcome in advance!

(btw, bring me a Cadillac) :P

  • Good luck

  • Damn I love British politics!

  • 06:58 - "Hasn't punched anyone yet"

lol, that's a bit rich coming from JC

  • that feminist must hate clarkson after this!

    do agree with him though

  • Shit...why we haven't Clarson in Polish? :/

  • hey we've got translated Clarkson's Top Gear on TVN Turbo or Discovery Channel for few years

  • anything translated in Polish must be awful to sit through

  • Booyah motherfucker

  • Did he get the ITV BBC thing the wrong way round?

  • Zing!

  • No...

  • i think it was suppose to be a joke

  • oh no not germaine greer. thats one dog whose bark they should have removed. and before im labelled a chauvinist, women's rights are great, honestly, but frankly shes just a man hater and i've never met another female of my generation who didn't think she was a complete retard

  • I have never heard Germaine Greer say ANYTHING positive about ANYTHING.

  • Comment removed

  • you're welcome to your views on women's rights, but your opinion on Greer is completely untrue, she is not a man hater and never has been. I doubt you've read her writings, but If you bothered to you'd realise that you've been misled by false portrayals of her in rubbish media. She has nothing against men, she is opposed to our patriarchal society, just as I am, and I am a man.

  • Whipped. :D

  • I tend to be rather sceptical about (Radical) feminism as an academic paradigm, but Jermaine Greer is charming. Witty, self-decreprecating- I always envision her as a sort of eccentric auntie.

I find it very hard to see how anyone can dislike her as a personality.

  • @danielhoritz - You sound like a man in full possession of a woman's vagina you fucking homo.

  • @danielhoritz Surgery?

  • We still use 1978 VHS in 'developed parts' of GB whatever gadgets the technologists thrust upon us! I still use 1971 Umatic!

  • @thomasking55: I hope Apple start inventing products so technologically sophisticated that they can grow reproductive organs and literally fuck themselves.

  • lovin the vhs!

    thts dedication!

  • This Is On VHS!? Nice One Lad! (or Lady If You Are A Woman.)

  • Yep, the Hi-Fi Play SP gives it away. I enjoyed this show so much I trimmed and uploaded it!

  • @Grunbeldodd are you member of the TIOVHSNOLLIYAAW too?!!!

  • Well this one isnt blocked LOL>Rob

  • Germaine Greer makes no contributions here, just like in the rest of her career.

  • I concur

she is self important and it seems like the primary reason for her opening her mouth when doing her "campaigning" is through arrogance rather than with regard to others

  • I love the way it gets shortened to HIGNFY, it's such a great word and should be used mroe in everyday conversation.

  • Good point, I never thought of saying it "Higgnfe" (??)

  • I find it easier to say have i got news for you rather than try and say "HIGNFY" as its written lol, im really lazy

  • My parents used to call it that, when I was little I thought it was the name of a detective show. lol Don't ask me why.

  • This episode was excellent.

Clarkson is one of the best hosts for HIGNFY, besides Bruce Forsyth and Brian Blessed.

After the video with Tony Blair and Gordon Brown: 'Would you like to meet other gay men in your area?'. LOL =D

  • Oh cmon!!!! Clarkson scum? NO WAY!

  • Clarkson has been on HIGNFY 6 times.

5 times as a guest presenter and once as a panelist.

  • That wouldn't stop the BBC from doing it.

  • You bastard. Props to the people who keep posting this stuff.

  • every word of this was so true

  • "Hey listen up everybody : Please remember this clip is the property of the BBC" Yes, the goodbye Angus show was a big moment!

  • I was watching the 'Goodbye Angus' one on Wednesday night...went to watch it again yesterday night and it said it was no longer available due to a copyright claim by BBC Worldwide...lo-and-behold when I just checked, it doesn't exist anymore so has been deleted...

  • I'd watch as many HIGNFY clips on here as you can, copyright claims by BBC Worldwide are stopping you from viewing them...this one will be stopped soon...

  • Thanks, Where did you hear that?

  • happening to most shows, mock the week and HIGNFY etc, they all get pulled

  • same with NMTB ASWELL

    ! how DARE THEY ? x

  • But If we just keep posting them??????

  • What season/episode was this?

  • No Idea. Early this year? Dr Who was announced and Rover was just Over....

  • A search on IMDb gives 15th April 2005 apparently. :S Doesn't feel that long ago...

  • clarkson is a legend. but the hair?

  • omg look at jeremys hair

  • What happened to Germs here- she didn't get a word in!

  • I know, it was great. :D

  • She's vile and needs to be deported.

  • she had opportunities to talk she's obviously not quick or funny enough

    makes a nice change anyway

  • I honestly may have accidentally edited out the bits when she's talking!
